Most of the time, the culprits for not losing weight are A) underestimating food intake and B) overestimating calories burned. To counter this, get a scale and measuring devices, use them, and make sure that everything you put in your mouth is logged....accurately. Know the proper way to measure - pasta is weighed dry,…

I found that relaxing my grip/arms has helped a lot. When I was trying to "hold" the weights up, I would end up with so much pain in my arms and shoulders. So by holding on more loosely, letting the bar completely rest on my traps and only using my hands to keep it level, I'm able to squat with less soreness. I'm only up…

An inSANE amount. I have a spouse, three children (one of whom is a full-grown man), a dog, a cat, and a hamster. We all pack our lunches every day and we rarely eat out. We eat mostly organic, all natural, with minimal processing. Additionally, my kids often have friends spend the night(s) and they eat too. Including pet…

I am 52 and having a heck of a time losing the last 20 pounds. Already lost 50, but my body is stuck now...been a year since I saw a new low on the scale. I keep trying though!

Because I was slim and sexy for most of my life and I want that back. And carrying around an extra 50-70 pounds is really uncomfortable...it hurts knees, ankles, and back. Plus I waddle(d). So I want my self back.

I do two zumba classes and a kickboxing class on my non-lifting days. 1-2 rest days, depending on how I feel.

I take a multi-vitamin, additional Vit E, B-Complex, D and Iron. Also Fish Oil. My kids get gummy vites also.

Yes. Everything I buy and put in my mouth or feed my family.

I took off 3 weeks recently, eating at or just below maintenance and went up 8 pounds. Measurements increased slightly too. I know that isn't fat, because I would have needed to eat 28,000 additional calories in order to gain that much fat, and I absolutely did not. So what it has to be is glycogen and water storage from…

I attend Bay Area Ren Faire in full costume as a serving wench and my partner has a monk costume (bald head and round belly too!). We go fairly regularly, but are not members of any guilds.

Going out tonight, as a matter of fact. On TOP of going out for lunch with friends. I'm just going to enjoy the day and not worry about it. I don't do it often (maybe once every 3 months), so I plan to enjoy myself!

Something I noticed is that when I was younger (slim and never gained a pound no matter what I ate), I fidgeted a lot. I mean, like shifting foot to foot, jiggling foot, tapping feet and hands, unconsiously moving to songs in my head (aka SPA/NEAT, as described by Steve Troutman). However, over the years, I've stopped…

I've been here for more than 3 years, pretty much non-stop. In that time, I've seen every question asked...many times. I've seen the same answers given....in various ways. And I have learned that: It IS possible to respond to the same questions and issues politely and civilly, even after you've done it 1500 times before.…

I love ALL mine! If I didn't, I'd change them. Monday - compound lifts Tuesday - zumba Wednesday - isolate exercises Thursday - zumba Friday - rest Saturday - compound lifts Sunday - kickboxing

I would be really surprised if you are burning 1000 calories per day. And if you are, maybe you are overstressing your body and need to back off a little. I found that I actually burn about 50-60% of what MFP calculates and then I eat back about half of those. And give yourself some time off, to recover. Also...2 weeks?…

I do the Strong Lifts 5x5 program. 5 compound lifts, with 5 sets of 5 reps. Except deadlift, which is 1 set of 5 reps. No machines other than the squat rack and olympic bar + weights. I have a shoulder injury that prevents pushing heavy things, so the shoulder-type lifts are fairly light until I'm stronger. That said, my…

I would drink it. I love wine, but alcohol does not love me (and enhances my traces of idiocy!). So I would drink something that looks/tastes like wine, but contains no alcohol. Straight grape juice is too heavy.

I bought a pressurized sprayer that lets me use olive oil like you would Pam. But the quantity is much less than using spoonfuls.

I can only do two days at the moment (or I'd have to do back-to-back days). So, I do Saturday and Monday, 5x5. Wednesday, at home, I do some dumbell work (jump squats, shrugs, etc.) I am much too sore in my glutes and hamstrings and shoulders to do 5x5 consecutively. But it's nice to work some isolated muscles every week…

I was having trouble with this, almost falling over on my face due to leaning foward. I had a guy offer me some advice at the gym, when I was doing the same thing. He gave me two 2 1/2 pound weights and told me to put them under my heels when I squatted. He explained that this would cause me to lean back a bit instead of…

Just finished the Gone series by Michael Grant (5 books-dystopia). Now working on the The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (6 books-vampires). Also have The Maze Runner series by James Daschner lined up for later. Can you tell I like series?

I like StrongLifts. It's only 5 lifts total, but they're compound and they work all the big muscle groups. The heavier the weight, the longer it takes (more rest between sets), but I can still complete a workout in about an hour, including 5 min run to warmup.

Heh, I thought this was going to be about my chest and my answer was going to be....never again! Sadly...:noway: But, since you are talking about butt cheeks, then the answer is a proud YES! Those squats and deadlifts and the running have paid off. Even though I am 51 yrs old and was terribly out of shape a few years ago.
