I passed on buying some Cliff bars the other day because of that very reason (sugar and carbs). Ended up getting some Premier Protein bars from Sam's Club. I've only tried one flavor (Chocolate Peanut Butter) and I thought it was pretty good.

Yep, they are subtracting out the glycerine as well since they don't consider it a sugar alcohol. It would make more sense if they broke it out and showed you how much glycerine was being subtracted like they do with Fiber and Sugar Alcohols.

Just to clarify, it's ketosis not ketoacidosis. They are two very different things but are easily confused. Ketosis is a normal metobolic function where ketoacidosis can be a life-threatening medical condition. It goes along with the famous myth that low carbing causes kidney disease.

A pound of muscle of course weighs the same as a pound of fat except that muscle takes up a lot less space. So that's how even though you aren't losing weight (or even a slight gain) you might still be losing inches.

Low carbers eat a ton of vegetables if they are following it correctly. Fruits are more limited because of the sugar content.

I was (still am to an extent) a big proponent of the low carb lifestyle if done correctly. I saw someone on MFP talk about Krema peanut butter. It's only ingredient is Peanuts. I was in Kroger yesterday and saw it in the regular peanut butter isle. It's not bad. I had some this morning on a slice of toasted Ezekiel 4:19 bread.
