Thinking more about this: Instead of focusing on the things people say that irritate/annoy me, I should focus on the ones that say to me, "You have been an inspiration to me." Those who have started changing their own lifestyles because of seeing what doing that has done for me. More positive approach. :)

If I had a penny for every time someone's said to me, "Wow, you're the incredible shrinking woman!", I'd be rich. :P (P.S. Oh, and yeah, the, "What's your secret???" thing. I answer now that I have the two amazing secrets of watching what I eat, and moving more. People seem so disappointed that I didn't have surgery, or…

I have released a total of 114.6 pounds (from 270 pounds to current 155.6. GW 145.). I have gone from a 3x/4x shirt to a size medium shirt (and some size small dresses!), and from a size 24-26 jeans to size 4-6 jeans. Everything depends on cut of course. Silly clothes.

FTFY.

SW: 270 pounds (Size 3x/4x shirt, 24-26W pants) CW: 155.6 pounds (Size medium shirt, 4-6 misses pants) GW: 145 pounds (maybe a little less, maybe a little more...we'll see where my body decides it wants to stay)

Um, ABSOLUTELY!!! Not just the "before" pictures, but the "during" pictures as well. I have lost a lot of weight. But there are still times when I look in the mirror, and the baggage in my mind won't let me see the changes, and I still see the fat girl I used to be, even though I'm most definitely not that girl anymore.…

These sound great! Thanks!
I forgot to mention this. There is no such thing as a cute bra for DD and up.
Sure there are. You just have to get them from a bra boutique and pay through the roof for them!

9. You're beautiful!

Bump! Thanks for the info.

This. I can't have it in the house. I will eat the whole tub with a spoon in no time. If I have it in the house, it's for a specific recipe, and I make sure to only get what I need for the recipe. I still have a few food addictions that will cause me to binge. Nutella is one of them.

This is, unfortunately, what we call "bait" for opportunistic muggings. We've had a rash of them in my neighborhood the past few weeks. Rather violent muggings, just so they could steal smartphones. Displaying them is a bad idea. If you're going to use them, keep them well hidden.

I just got mine last week! Addicted already. Feel free to add me: https://www.fitbit.com/user/27F8W8 (Feel free to add me here, too.)

As a friend told me: I've spent most of my life overweight. It's going to take my brain time to catch up to the new body that I have now. It's not going to happen overnight. And it certainly hasn't happened yet. It's actually been a very emotional journey for me because of the self-image issues I have. I look in the…

I have clear gel deodorant, and have used it for many years, but it still leaves white deodorant stains on bras and such. So. Good luck?

Hahaha!!

Oh, is that why I eat at a deficit, but have maintained for 2 months, while my muscles have gotten larger and more firm (especially in my legs) since starting strength training?

Do you want a pedometer, or a heart rate monitor? They're two different pieces of equipment. They don't do the same thing. (I personally have both. The Polar is my HRM during my workouts. My Fitbit is for general daily energy output and counting steps.)

I haven't given up grains. I've lost 112 pounds. So yes, you can eat grains and still lose.

#2 and #4 I think are the most flattering on you. Congratulations on your loss, and have fun wowing people at your reunion!!

If you're an absolute beginner, neighborhood walks are good! Also, for a video, try one of Leslie Sansone's 'Walk Away the Pounds'. It's very light aerobic exercise, and a great way to get into more intense exercises down the road. I started with walking (outside, and at a gym) and used the WATP videos. I'm doing things…

Thank you! I wish I could recognize the transformation. But as a friend once told me: It took my whole life to get to be overweight. It will take time to see my new body for what it is: not fat anymore!

Thank you! It actually helped the violin playing in that when I'm seated, it's easier to play on the E-string because my stomach's not in the way causing trouble! I can't tell if you if I've had to adjust my playing or not because I started with a new teacher a while back, and she's completely re-doing my bow grip, so…

Oh, I hope you're right!! I've been plateaued for a little while now. Grr! Slow and steady, I keep telling myself!

Sorry, I won't show mine either...but you're not alone in your bat wing frustration!! I started around 270 and am not around 158 (goal is 145). Arms have gotten smaller, but the flabby stuff is still there. I'm hoping once I reach my goal and maintain, and keep up with my exercises, that they'll tighten up. If not, I am…

Leonard: Half the demons, I think. The rest are waiting for me when I reach maintenance. But I *know* I'll be fine, because I've retrained my mindset. Sure, I'll have days where I slip. I do now! But it's okay, as long as a habit isn't made of it, and I'm able to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get back on track.

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words!
