LOL! I have a similar story. I was getting ready for work and my son was right next to the scale so I asked him to get on it and he weighed 38 pounds which was the exact amount I had lost at the time. It was crazy to think I lost the equivelent of my son!

Amazing! You look great and you also look like a different person, younger and happier. Way to GO!

Awesome NSV's! I have a few: Not shopping in the women's plus section anymore! I am in a size 14/16 and regular XL from the misses section! Getting a double take from someone who hadn't seen me in a couple of months and hearing him say to me "Wow, Cynthia? Wow! What happend to you?! You look great!" And...being told by…

You said it mindfulone! It is a battle but I thank God I have the opportunity to get healthy for myself and family! We can do it! By the way, haven't you heard...40 is the new 30! :)

Rowena02148 - I have been told the same thing! Good luck to you on your journey!

Thanks everyone! I feel like a new person and I look at myself and don't recognize the person in the mirror. I am excited in my choice and how it is affecting my family for the better.

I say to each his own. The cover and title are obviously there to shock and nothing else. I bf my son until he was about 27-29 months old and weaned him at that time because I wanted my body back before my daughter was born (three months after he was weaned). She wasn't as interested in bf as he was and believe me he would…

All of y'all have great nsv's going on! Mine was actually putting on a pair of size 16 pants that I bought last week because all my old pants are so baggy (the crotch on my work slacks sag so bad, I have to pull my pants up 'a la Urkel) and realizing I could have gone down one more size because they were also loose!

Big freaking water bugs. I just shivered typing that down. I scream bloody murder when I see one. I don't know how the heck they get in the house but on occasion they do and OMG I cannot handle that at all. If I see one I get my hubby to chase it down while I go to another room and close the door. Then for days after I…

You are in the right place! It takes courage to open yourself up to others and I admire your first step to change your life. We all have to start somewhere and this is the perfect place. You can take it in baby steps, one thing at a time. I started by not being as active excercise wise because I had no energy. Once I…

You can do this. Starting is the hardest part and you've already done that! I have been on this site for a few months and now look at food and think about how many calories/sugars/carbs per serving and how does it fit into my calorie goal for the day. I stay away from a lot of processed foods and have switched to whole…

Great job on your first week. My whole outlook on food has done a total 360! I love how this site makes me feel accountable, which I need for motivation. I have been on here since 3/1/12 when my doctor suggested it and love it!

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. As I was reading your words it kind of sounded like me. I knew I was obese but wasn't doing anything about it. Eating so unhealthy and over eating. I saw pictures of myself looking so big and would avoid looking at my body in the mirror after I showered and none of my clothes…

Anyone can feel free to add me and I would love to join a group! I love MFP! I love that I am more accountable on what I eat since I am tracking it. I stopped eating all the junk and fried stuff and started eating healthier. I turned 40 and it was a wake up call for me. I have two little kiddos and I want to be there for…
