Do you remember the "Alphie's" diner that were in the same shopping center as the grocery store? I used to get their spaghetti all. the. time.

There is a lot of great advice here from people who have been successful (Ed is amazing and a great example for you). I would just like to reiterate that they key for *me* has been: -- Log everything, even if it's going to make those numbers red. For most people who have a poor relationship with food, this is one of the…

-- It takes your brain way longer to catch up with your body (i.e., you still feel you are/look heavier than you really are). -- Nobody tells you to forget all the cr*p you tried/heard about in the past, open your mind, listen to people who have had success before you and learn before you leap. -- Achieving results you…

#2 for sure. Unless you're one of the internet friends trading barbs and then all of your friends are required to go straight to #4 in order to p*ss you off further. :flowerforyou: But yea, #2.

Confused. Are we really discussing BBQ or with all this "rack" and "meat" talk, euphemism for something more? :flowerforyou: for Bun Bun

Appreciate the thoughts. I was asking for me, SS. I've been at this for two years (MFP) although diagnosed with metabolic issues only the last six months (although suspected for longer). The data I have now isn't super valuable because I can maintain on 1,600 one month, then lose on it the next. But then I can also…

Might be time to walk away, OP. Absorb the advice you have received so far and filter through what you would like to take on board and what you want to push to the side and think about your next steps. It's doubtful you are going to receive anything else new; everyone has given the "standard" answers, so at this point, the…

First, get yourself a full blood panel workup, including Thyroid (T3, T4, Antibodies - you have to ask for each of those sub tests). If anything is outside the norm, get to an Endocrinologist and work directly with them, not a GP or OB/GYN. Metabolic issues are extremely difficult to manage and likely to require you to…

Excellent! And I love your favorite quote!!

Tip #1 - only go GF if you *need* to, it's a PITA. Tip #2 - if you do go GF, read all the labels ... gluten is in *everything* Tip #3 - go to tip #1

Also, ask for your Thyroid anti-bodies to be checked. If you have other symptoms of Thyroid issues (there are a million, but Google is your friend here, or talk to mom), and your labs are "normal" you can still have problems ... a lot of old school doctors and Endocrinologists follow the "manage to the lab results" motto…

To answer your question: yes, it's possible to lose 90 pounds in 7 months. However, it's likely you want this to be healthy and long term, so perhaps consider a goal different than just scale weight? If you incorporate strength training along with your caloric deficit, you're more likely to reshape your body and may lose…
