I'm still here, I'm still in the challenge; but, I am noticing that focusing on the scale is actually discouraging me from keeping up good habits. If I don’t lose in a given week, I start to think that it was all for not – why deprive myself of chips/fries, chocolate and cheese if I don’t get immediate results??? I’ve…

After a weekend where I ignored the Elliptical completely and became intimately reacquainted with the fridge, I couldn't stop myself from hopping on the scale on Monday morning... 251 (actually 250.8, but I always round up or down for any fraction other than a .5) which is 2.5 down from last Thursday. Of course, I may have…

I forgot to mention, if I have a hunger feeling that I can't ignore, I usually have some carrot and celery sticks and a glass of water to fill me up, without actually filling me up.

I knit in the evenings, or read/look at knitting books/magazines. It might sound corny, but busy hands means I can't be shoveling food in, plus I don't want any crumbs or spills near my yarn, so that's an added incentive to not have any food near me. Obviously, if you are not into knitting, you could do any other…

Last week, I was really in top form; but I may have been pushing myself too hard and wound up a little burnt out. On Saturday morning, I did 65 minutes on the Elliptical. Then we went to a wedding on Saturday, and I decided to just go ahead and eat/drink whatever I wanted to. It wasn't that bad, though. I was over goal,…

Thanks. I'm proud of my progress. In the past, I would have likely given in and eaten everything that caught my eye without really paying any attention to what or how much I was consuming.

That doesn't add up correctly, because I never ate the ham, so I didn't add it into my calorie calculations.

My mini challenge this week was to workout 45 mins x 3 in addition to my regularly scheduled weekend workouts: 60 mins x 2 on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I've done 55 mins x 3. Yahoo!

The HRM built into my Nordic Track Elliptical does something similar. I'll be pumping along at a pace that usually gets me up to 145-150, and I check my HR and it reads 115/120/135. What's up with that?
