769 calories over goal - still a win

Saturday, I worked out for 65 minutes in the morning. I switched up my "usual" brunch order at the diner - from the Hungry Man (3 eggs, 10 slices of bacon, 1 slice of ham, 1 c. of home fries, 2 slices of toasted brown bread - 1300 calories) to the #1 (1 egg, 5 slices of bacon, 1 c. of home fries, 2 slices of toasted brown bread - 970 calories) (all measures approximate).

We went to a wedding, and I logged everything I ate/drank as best I could. According to MyFitnessPal I was 769 calories over goal (including adding back my exercise calories), since I have a 750 daily deficit as my goal, yesterday works out to a neutral day. I won't lose anything, but I also won't gain anything. So, that's a win, in my eyes.

That doesn't add up correctly, because I never ate the ham, so I didn't add it into my calorie calculations.

i think thats awesome.. good job nd keep it up! Anyone who can goto a wedding and trackit all, i give you props!
  • Thanks. I'm proud of my progress. In the past, I would have likely given in and eaten everything that caught my eye without really paying any attention to what or how much I was consuming.

It really is a win because had you not been counting calories and been more aware of what you are putting into your body you could have really splurged. I feel the same way about yesterday. It was my daugther's birthday party and then a potluck BBQ at a friend's house. Normally, I would have ate until I felt stuffed and gorged on the desserts and I totally refrained and ate a more reasonable amount. I still went over my cals but nothing like it could have been. So congrats! I know how you feel!

Great job! The other day I exercised, was on track for the day. Then I went to my grandma's and started snacking! Thankfully, I cut myself off and when I got home I went for a walk. I was still over my calories, but not as bad as it could have been!

It gets to be a habit to think about these things. Keep going!
