  • You will love it here, great tools and great people! Good Luck on your journey. :flowerforyou:
  • get up earlier and do some morning excercise then have breakfast... you need to break the cycle you are in.
  • not sure i understand, what calories does mfp show you should consume daily? that's what you should be eating, then when you excercise you log that and you will see you have more calories for that day and you should eat those too or at least part of those.
  • walking is great! You should increase not more than 10% each week. Also take at least one day off a week to allow your muscles to recover. The most important thing is to stay with it and the rest will fall into place. You are doing great so far, keep it up!! :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks, i need the races to motivate me and of course to allow me to eat more. Now how do I get motivated to do these crunches??
  • Very Cool!! :glasses:
  • did you stop drinking pop or cut out caffeine? Could be caffeine withdrawal headache.
  • i think sometimes it's just a timing thing, i'm sure it's happened to everyone, your not alone! :flowerforyou:
  • U can do it!! Sprint tri's are doable with not much training, a year is plenty of time. Once you do one you'll be hooked, much better than sitting on the sidelines! Go for it!
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure your grandfather would want you to take care of yourself, I find running very theraputic.
  • i agree with all the rest but if you stick to your work out plan I think you will find that you will lose alot of inches and really firm up so it will look like you lost more. Running or intense cardio is the best way to lose weight. Good Luck.
  • Most definately!!

  • cardamom pods are kinda expensive and hard to find. We had a recipe for holiday glug (swedish drink) that called for them.
  • I really want to try this, i keep forgetting to look for it at the store, does anyone know if it is usually found by the rice?
  • did you post the new challenge yet? i can't find it.:ohwell:
  • You look awesome!! Great job! :flowerforyou:
  • Tammie, are we still a go for the July group? Can't wait!! Thanks for running the group. :flowerforyou:
  • most races provide water on the course, drink if needed. Unless it is really hot i skip the water until after i find it hard to drink on the run, it's a short race so depending on your fitness your body should be able to handle it. I have just a piece of toast with jelly and a glass of skim milk. I also try to drink water…
  • Run! Run! Run!! Good for you for siging up!! I have never run a half marathon, i stick to the 5k and 5milers for right now and tri's. Not sure if you saw this 9 week training schedule. http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-244--6851-2-2X5X8-4,00.html Good Luck, you can do it!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Next Sprint Tri for me is July 11th, it's in our town and the run goes past our house. Lots of pressure to look good when running past the neighbors houses  Did you purchase the bike? Giant's are good., you'll be happy with your purchase. I bought my bike used about 6 years ago now, it is a Specialized Allez. Do you…
  • How many people my age can say the went for a swim in a lake, rode their bike, and went for a run?? What a beautiful day for a triathlon! Had alot of fun. My swim was slow as expected from my bad shoulder but the rest went very well. Had fun on the bike trading spots with a group of women. Not sure how many calories I…
  • Yes wetsuits help with buoyancy which helps you swim a bit faster but, for sprint tri's the time it takes to get it back off is probably an equal trade-off for fair to good swimmers, for poor swimmers it helps more. I think my shoulder will be good enough to do ok on the swim without it tomorrow. The water is definately…
  • WooHoo, good for you!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Time to step up your walking to the next level, try wogging, jog and walk in equal intervals(ie. jog 1 min, walk 1 min) increase interval time each week. Your body gets used to the same exercise, especially if you are not getting your heart rate up enough.
  • yes, it was 80+ here today at 8am, supposed to be 95+ today. I try to run early in the morning or later in the evenings when it is this hot. Stay hydrated, try to run in the shade and not on pavement, trails are best. Don't wear cotton, wear wicking clothes. I also wear a running hat to keep the sun off my face.
  • woohoo, i fit back into my wetsuit!! It was tight but it supposed to be, didn't think I was going to get it on at first. With my frozen, now thawing shoulder, i was thinking of wearing my wetsuit to help me on the swim on my first tri of the season on Saturday. But now the weather has been so hot this week the water temp…
