Run at what you feel comfortable with. I started out at about a 13-14 minute mile pace, and after a few months found myself comfortable at a 11-12 minute mile pace. Give yourself a few days to get used to what you are doing, but don't be afraid to slow down or speed up when you need to - you will find your pace!

Greek yogurt - 140 calories and 23 grams of protein in 1 cup. Snack on nuts, light cheese, and jerky. Add beans to your dinner whenever possible - e.g. if I am making rice or pasta, I will add peas and beans, or add them on top of a salad.
-
Try slowing down your running pace and see if that helps.

Getting older. Realizing that I don't have infinite time to make my body like I want it to be.

I 100% agree with this. Do more squats. Also those things where you bend down with one leg behind you and then jump up in the air with your knee coming up.
-
Yoga. Also stretching. Try to do some every day, preferably after you are warmed up.

I am going to jump off a cliff and fly tomorrow - but I only want positive comments about this!! Sorry, one of the best things about this website is the number of people who will be honest with you. It is a support forum which means trying to help people do things safely and effectively, not a "cheerleading" forum.

Recommendations that worked for me: - Eating 30% protein, 30% fat, and 40% carbs (this is different than the MFP default but you can change your personal settings) - Getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night - Working out in the AM - Eating as little processed /boxed food as possible. Even if I do eat a frozen or boxed meal, I…

Give it time. 20 pounds in 3 months is a great accomplishment so be proud of what you have done but give your body time to figure out its new 'size' - weight loss is not linear.

Anybody? I can't be the only one that can't do Power Pushups!

I started running (Couch to 5k) and doing Les Mills Body Pump classes around 230. I am down 25 pounds and now doing Insanity. Now I am focusing on incorporating activity into daily lifestyle - biking to the train station, standing desk at work, etc. I'd like to increase my weight training too.

Greek yougurt taste and consistency varies WIDELY by brand. I would recommend trying some of the other 2% or low fat kinds before writing them off complately- you may like them better. I like Chobani for mixing with Jam, and Fage for using like sour cream in soups and tacos.

Waterskiing! Also, just being able to say I accomplished my goal. :)

I have had this happen. This time when I got close to my number I upped my exercise significantly, and now am 3% down from there (whew!). I feel somewhat stuck where I am at now though so need to re-dicipline myself. Good luck!!

I'm in! My goal is to start running again in June and I need motivation! I had some injury and I'm finishing another fitness program at the same time, so I am going to make my goal small - 30 miles in 30 days.

This. In high school I used to think I was fat, but I was super athletic and actually looked pretty good - just not tiny. I know I will feel a lot better about myself now than I did then, regardless of weight. (Doesn't hurt that the skinny kids in high school are now bigger than me, though:)

My mom let us have 'moderate' amount of choices about what to eat. We didn't like lima beans, so we ate peas. I didn't like broccoli so she let me sprinkle some cheese on it. Stuff like that. But we had to try it, and we had to eat most of the stuff on our plate, and I think it really helped me develop broad tastes as an…

Talk to a therapist or counselor who you feel comfortable with. It's expensive but your life and your marriage is worth the money. Even 1 or 2 sessions talking to someone can help.

I ate cookies over the weekend, realized I was eating more than was healthy for me, but decided to keep going and probably ate about 1500 calories total in cookies, plus whatever else I ate that day (which wasn't super healthy). That's what I think of in terms of a binge - I didn't plan to eat the cookies, but I did anyway.

I have never cooked with protein powder, but this makes me want to start!

I'm 5'9" and aiming for 180, which my guess will put me in a US size 10/12.

Double this. Seriously though - if you want to "improve" how you will look, then eat less, do intervals, and lift weights. There's no magic "going on vacation so I must do something" pill - you just have to do it.

??? Your body is not a water snob. Some drinks may have chemicals or additives in them that will cause other reactions in your body, but if you put water in your body, it will use it regardless of what type of glass/can/bottle it comes out of or what color/flavor it is.

45 minutes of cardio/body strength intervals most days. 30 min circuit training / heavy weights once a week. This week I added in biking (bike to work week, yay) 10 miles / 5 days a week.

Yes. I have a long torso, broad shoulders, and am generally 'thick' through the upper mid-section between my shoulders and waist. It makes clothes fit really weird and makes me look like I have muffin top in the back if I wear anything clingy. Also, I'm 5'9 and have to buy pants that are "short", which gives me some funny…

Tell yourself you are not going to snack FOR ONE DAY. Don't try to change a habit forever - it can be crazy hard. Just take it one day at a time. And celebrate your victory - every day you make it without snacking, give yourself a gold star - figuratively or literally. I find that writing it down or marking it on the…

Squats are good for your body. So is cardio. Do both. :)

I can't recommend seltzer water enough. It helped me get from 3-6 diet cokes a day to 1-2 per week, max. Seltzer tastes a bit weird at first because it is not as sweet, but your taste buds will adjust in a few days. Good luck!!

Good for you for saying it "out loud"! Keep it up!

It gets easier over time. As others have said, you will figure out what works for you, what doesn't, and "trim the fat" from what you need to do to keep healthy habits. You need to find something that will work for you for the rest of your life, but it may take some trial and error to get to that spot. Good luck!
