Yup. This. But keep going with your trainer - it's good for you, no matter what the scale says.

Weight loss is not linear. Sure you can get a big "jump" at first (like you did), but you need to aim for something more reasonable, like 10 pounds a month. <----this is still HARD.

You may consider strength training to build muscle, if you aren't already. Plus high protein/fat rich foods.

I have a fantastic second-hand work wardrobe of skirts, dresses, etc., thanks to some fabulous friends and sisters. It took some work to fit into it last year, but I did and I rocked it out. But this year nothing fits in the waist anymore so I'm stuck wearing dumb black pants pretty much every day again. :(

I estimate the veggies (I didn't get pudgy eating too many carrots! If I end the day 50 calories over because I ate too many veggies, well, that's how it's going to be! ) and track the high calorie items more exactly, i.e. dressing, nuts, cheese.

Anybody? Nobody? Bueller? :)

Ask a medical professional, not an online forum.

I just rejoined too - welcome back! -

I did my first race with one buddy...it's hard to find a team but I want to do another one. What was your experience on your own - are there any obstacles that you can't get over? That's my thing - I know I'm going to need help along the way (and I probably should give more help to others, as well)!

I did a Spartan Super last year...doing a Sprint in Phoenix next month. Trying to determine whether I'm crazy enough to do a Beast!! I'm in decent shape, strength-wise, but I put on 20 pounds of flab since last year...boo. My goal now is to slim down so that there's less of "me" to carry over the obstacles :) I'm looking…

Good to know - thanks!

MFP often overestimates calories burned through workouts, so you may need to adjust how many you eat back.
-
I had to get used to it :)

My husband and I both tend to snack and eat seconds. So we don't keep junk in the house, and try to cook only what we are going to eat. It takes more work (and honestly it means that I'd rather go buy a brownie and eat half of it than cook a whole pan) but its helped us a LOT not to have the food in the house.

The kids said the "if I die before I wake" prayer because your chances of randomly dying in the night were like 50-50 and you needed to be prepared!
-
Dude, you lost a PERSON. That's awesome. Congrats!

You can use a couple of other players - I recommend Winamp - it syncs with my playlists and now I can have zombie run music. :)

I know what you mean! It's amazing how involved you get in the story. I've done some zombie runs at 5 am in the dark and rain...its an experience!

It depends on your type of business - a lot of times there is an 'expectation' of a certain caliber of meal for a business dinner. I've eaten more fancy dinners with my boss than my husband, just because its more of his business style than our personal preference. I wouldn't read anything into it.
-
I'm on the other side of the fence quite often - traveling for business with male co-workers, most of us are married, and we often go out for dinner/drinks as part of business talk, or just to relax. And I've had to hear (luckily not often) the awkward one-sided telephone conversation of 'you are out with WHO?" when there…

i used to be scared of eating 'fat' - was a victim of the low-fat 90's.... but honestly I feel SO MUCH BETTER now that I eat more protein and fat and less carbs. I have more energy and just feel more alive. I set myself a goal of 30/30/40 for protein/fat/carbs, so its not a drastic change, but I have to tell you that I've…
-
Just a thought from another perspective - I found for me it works better if I plan, instead of trying to avoid it completely. For example, most days I eat oatmeal for breakfast, but on Friday I eat a donut. I eat a 100 calorie or less popsicle after dinner each night. During the day, I let myself have one 'unhealthy' snack…

Do what you can, and don't be afraid to modify movements. The key is to keep at it - you will get stronger and fitter!

I haven't done p90x, but I've done other beachbody workouts. The key is to do what you can do - if using p90x motivates you to work out and you can do it safely, then do it, and don't be afraid to modify/rest as needed. You don't have to beat Tony on the first day. :)

Do what you can. High intensity intervals are GREAT for short-time spans - bust your butt with jumping jacks, pushups, squats, etc. for 1 minute at a time with a rest in between. Try doing 5 minute workouts a couple of times a day - it adds up!
-
I just got a fitbit one and am pleased at the accuracy of the calories burned - its at least in the ballpark which made me happy, and I'm going to do some more testing later. Fitbit one also tracks your sleep and has a pretty nice silent alarm - I didn't know that when I got it but it was a pleasant surprise!

This is the best quote in the history of MFP.
-
It's all about who you run with. I'd be trying to pace with you, but probably not able to keep up!
-
Also, to respond to everyone telling you to try minimalist running - DON'T, unless you warm up to it very slowly. Minimalist shoes are great for some people, but can really aggravate some achilles problems - you could make it worse not better.
-
If you can't run without pain, I would see a doctor. Don't listen to anyone who tells you just to keep running - if it is hurting that bad you are probably hurting yourself and Achilles problems can take years go to away once they start. Also, if it started when you got new shoes, it quite possibly is the shoes, especially…
