Whichever one you will stick with! For me it depends on my work/schedule/motivation.

Love salads! My new favorite is broccoli slaw, blue cheese, zucchini, and poppyseed dressing!

I love seeing new people of all sizes at the gym! We all are at different levels, so as long as you are trying to do what you can do, MORE POWER TO YOU. Side note: my gym pet peeve is tiny girls who come to the gym and talk the whole time, always pick up the smallest weights for our interval circuits, and skip any exercise…

This is the best thing I have read in a long time!

I use one for motivation. If it helps you - go for it! You can always try it for a while and then change if you don't like it.

Vaccines are like car insurance. They 'insure' you against getting sick, but they also are important for public health and protecting everyone else. People who don't get vaccines are like those people who drive without insurance and T-bone your car...their lack of responsibility can screw you.

Punching/martial arts style workouts can be surprisingly cardio-intense without impact

Good question. I think there are people for which this is a bigger problem than others. For example, me. Good for you if you don't get hungry or can just ignore it, but I don't know how to make that happen!

I will love you forever isn't followed by an 'if you do X'. Your friend deserves a partner, not a manipulator.

I feel better about myself at this weight/size/fitness than I did when I was bigger and less fit. Yes I would still have a fulfilling life without focusing on these goals, but I think they make me a better person and happier with myself. That is why I bother.

If it started after the new shoes, I would bet it is based on the new fit and/or the way it makes your legs move in a different way. Shoes are a tricky thing - it may just be changing your stride and your hamstrings will adjust, or it could be something more serious. I notice a ton of difference when I wear different shoes…

I am going to try the idea of only eating at a table. Thanks for bringing up the question!

I didn't make it all the way through my training program, but I ran the half anyway. And I probably had to walk longer than if I finished my whole program ahead of time, but I was still proud of what I accomplished. So my point is that I think June is a very doable goal, but its easy to worry about where you 'should' be,…

Your definition of "willing" includes "has the resources, knowledge, and time". Many poor work longer hours, have less access to kitchen equipment, and less knowledge/experience cooking. Yes, they can CHOOSE to change these things, just like anyone can CHOOSE to become a gourmet french chef, learn to play the french horn,…

The key to insanity is to work out as hard as YOU can for short intervals during the workouts, and keep a consistent schedule. I stress YOU because everyone will be different. One thing I liked about the program is that you see real people working out on the DVD. They are strong, they are fit, but they still have to take…

Agree with above poster - sometimes you just have to pick your battles. You won't agree about everything, and you can't always 'convince' him to agree with you. At the end of the day - if he thinks one solution is best, and you think another is best, it really isn't the end of the world if you can agree to disagree. Think…

It's my life!

The only way to be sure is to try it for a few weeks and see whether it works for you. Alternatively, you could stay where you are at with calories if you are happy with that and the progress you are making.

Good point, Berry! Makes sense to me - esp. if you aren't getting the result you want, it could be worthwhile to examine if you are overestimating. For me, I generally cut the MFP estimate in half, and that seems to be about right.

Be patient - Rome wasn't built in a day (or a week!)

I have a standing desk and I love it. I bought it myself - cost as much as a gym membership but totally worth it. Check out http://www.ergodesktop.com/ if you are interested - they go on top of a normal desk and can adapt to a number of different computer setups.

12. I don't want to be tiny I just want to be fit. Side benefit - It would be nice to not always have to wear the biggest size in the store.

Just do it. they'll get over it. :)

Achilles problems can be tough. Definitely see a doctor - its one of those things that may take months to heal, unfortunately.

That's just awesome!

Not everything is an opinion, sometimes things are just wrong. Like how body shape determines what you should eat and how you should exercise.

Seltzer water is magical. It may not taste as 'sweet' as you are used to, but once you get in the habit and readjust your tastebuds it tastes pretty good. I love it because it gives me everything I like about pop (bubbly, cans, cold) without the bad stuff.

it sounds like you need to focus on changing your approach - moderation is key you want something you can stick with. Good luck we are here for you!!

I too am a slow runner, but when I did my first race, I was pleased to see that there were people running at ALL speeds - faster, slower, and everything in between. You should be proud of yourself because you are getting out there and DOING it first of all! As a friend of mine once said when I complained about running slow…

I swear by cheese sticks & greek yogurt - I need dairy and protein or I get the munchies. I get a big container of plain yogurt and a bag of frozen fruit and mix my own yogurt every day and is a lot less expensive than single serving packs.
