Congrats! That is a wonderful feeling!

This is so me! Several years ago I lost a bunch of weight and it scared the heck out of me and I turned around and put it back on to become invisible again. I am very aware of this quirk with me and am working on overcoming it. Being healthy is more important to me than how people react around me. Yes absolutely it is…

I am planning to do 30D Shred after Christmas (am working through other programs first). My question is this.. at this time I don't have a HRM and can't see that I will be able to have one by the time I start. How do you estimate the exercise calories? Thanks.

Beautifully said and so true. Thank you for this encouragement!

I have been struggling with this my whole life as well. When I made the choice to start living a healthy lifestyle, I started to ask myself why I wanted to eat something, was it stress, boredom, etc. If it was because I was truly hungry, I would eat something and log it. Logging my food has been the best thing I have done…

What an incredible story and how sad. So often we jump to conclusions about people, dehumanizing them, forgetting that they are human just like us. Thank you for sharing the story and reminding me to not just look at the surface but at the human beyond it.

It really varies from person to person based on body type. I have lost +/-40 lbs and due to my body shape (my waist and hips vary by 2-3") I am still wearing the same pant size. I can fit in the smaller sizes however they are tight at my waist. :(

That is so awesome! What a great NSV.

I have one for lunch with WASA sesame flatbread (look in the cracker aisle). YUM!

Oh it absolutely feels good! I said to my DH last night, I wonder how long it will be before my youngest will say that it is no longer comfortable to sit on my lap to watch a movie. I don't think it would stop him but I can see that coming. He'll just grab a pillow.

What has worked for me is to eat a higher protein and lower carb diet. While everyone needs to find their mix of what works for them, I try to keep my carbs around 100 g a day. This helps me to have a diet that I can live with (and I mean diet in the sense of what I eat every day). I also try to exercise regularly (4-6…

That is so awesome. As someone with PCOS, I can totally understand how exciting this is!! I am so happy for you.:flowerforyou:

Totally do this ^^ or I will go for an extra walk to compensate. Most times I will just let it go or choose a smaller cal. treat. (or healthy one) It takes practice and deciding that my health is more important than a momentary treat. That is what works for me.

Congrats!! Thank you so much for wanting and be willing to serve!

Thank you so much for your post. I have a year plus goal and am at my first plateau. It is mainly because for the past month I have been in situations where it was hard to control what I had available to eat (was away from home for work related training). I did ok but it has caused me to stall. So I have been feeling a…

I didn't log over Memorial Day weekend because I didn't have internet and did not have a good way to estimate what someone else's home cooking and recipes were. I know that I ate in moderation and not over a maintenance calorie count. I walked and was active so for me it was a wash. It would have been too much to write…

What an awesome post and full of all those things that we need to remind ourselves daily! What an accomplishment you have made in changing your lifestyle on your "cruise". I am looking forward to saying similar things next year when I reach my goal.

Thanks so much for posting these! You are where I want to be next year this time! It is so encouraging to see people achieving what feels like a huge goal to me right now. I know it will take time. Like so many have said, I didn't get this way overnight, I won't lose it overnight but I am committed to this change!! You…

I am on my way and not a success story yet. I have had PCOS and a hypothryroid for years. I decided this year that I not longer wanted to feel the way that I was feeling. I have lost 18 lbs this year already and feel so much better. (I only started MFP in March) The big things for me this time is that in my mind it is a…
