It takes more then 3 days for your body to adjust to change. Increased protein can be hard on your body, especially doubling your normal intake. I would give it another few days, and see how you feel. Every body is different though. Just be careful about quick changes, you really do need to figure out what works best for…

KCKO, <3 it!

I think it's just a symptom of how unconsciously we eat. I find myself doing it less and less, which is a great sign that I am learning new habits!!
-
Great Job!! There are soo many people on the board who are newbies, it's great having you as resource for the long haul experience!!
-
thanks Dan!!

Baconslave, what is KCKO as referenced above? jolep1975, take a deep breath. You are learning as you go and on the right path. I think for any adult right now, shifting from low fat to high fat is scary because for so many years we've heard how bad fat is for us. Just stick with it. Keep reading and learning as much as you…

Thanks Peeps! I know it's a bump in the road, I seem to hit those pesky bumps weekly, but I am learning new routes! I ended up with fish in a heavenly cream sauce with a side of spinach. The apps were hard, we got shrimp scampi (couldn't grab even grab a piece of that), a lovely antipasto plate with delicious prosciutto…

First tom on keto was last week. I felt a little nauseous the day before, but none of the regular cramps or tenderness. My cravings were vastly controlled. Usually that week I want "something" constantly, but last week wasn't too bad. I definitely was satisfied and comfortably able to stick with the program. The one thing,…

Thomas, I suggest you look into the Keto or Low Carb groups on MFP and do some deeper research outside of MFP as well. This main forum is not always receptive or helpful when it comes to a specific eating plans. Any restrictive change in your eating habits will create an initial weight loss. Maintaining a deficit (in…

I am sorry you are struggling, this weight loss thing is tough, that's why there are soo many sites and so many really strong opinions from those people who have had success or failures. All you can really continue to do is modify your diet until you find what works for you. As far as the carbs, and as a diabetic you must…

I somewhat follow this...but I usually have coffee (BPC) each morning and then don't eat anything until lunch. So I guess some would say i'm not technically fasting...but it's a big change for this breakfast believer.

Oh, CARoberts, I am sorry to hear that you will need surgery. I know that is scary and very stressful. I can understand your frustration leading you to stop focusing on your diet right now. That is okay, and I hope you are not beating yourself up over it. If I was in your shoes, I'd have probably have drunk a bottle of…

Everyone is different, and if you've been eating upwards of 200 carbs a day, then yes, of course 75 is low carb, for you. If you have been monitoring your food intake for a few weeks on MFP, you can look through your dairy to see what you have been consuming regularly. There are different levels to it, based on personal…

Thank you, all so helpful!! I picked up a magnesium supplement last night, but now wish I had re-read this thread for radiii's suggestion to get the citrate, because the type I bought are Oxide/400 mg. I'll look into helping absorption and double up on the dosage and see if that helps. I also picked up electrolyte water,…

I totally believe that a sugar and carbohydrate diet is bad for me. I know that when I have carbs or sugar in the morning, I crave it throughout the day. I know that if I do not continue to ingest it, I feel like crap. Protein doesn't do that to me, nor does full fat food. But sugar and carbs, oh boy. The reason being that…

I take a multivitamin, but am not consistent enough. I think I may need to take magnesium specifically and will look into getting some this weekend. I hope that will help, as a few nights I wake up with leg cramps as well and I would always just eat a banana the next day to try and compensate. Of course, I knew it was…

This is an interesting discussion, and timely for me. I have 3 kids, two still at home ages 14 and 5. My 14 year old daughter is tall and slim, and eats all things junky. My 5 year old loves anything not grown or previously breathing, so we have a real struggle at times. My husband is a former athlete, very slim and eats…

Good work!! (*)

Oh I miss bananas too! I am pretty impressed with how in tune you are to your body! I think regardless of what you do right now, you're going to feel off. The carb swings are going to feel extreme for your body, so try and stick with it for a few weeks at 50 and hopefully within the second week you'll get that boost and…

So, I got my visit from Flo yesterday and because it was a week early and no cramps or tenderness, I was surprised by it. I did have some sugar cravings over the weekend, which I now know why.

So glad the forums are back up, I was going through withdrawals the past few days... So, back to topic. I made my first attempt at a fat bomb...total fail. But I know why. I used PB2 instead of real peanut butter...Will try again this weekend.

You throw away half your lunch after logging it (before eating it) because you didn't realize how many carbs were in spaghetti squash. You like the taste of coconut oil. You know what Magnesium and Potassium (specifically lack of either) do for the body. You order nachos at a restaurant but don't eat any of the chips.…

Thanks for this post. New to LCHF/Keto and this weekend I was fighting some cravings....I love Reese's and peanut butter, so I am def going to try these!

Yep, this is me. I do so well 6 days a week, then on Saturday or Sunday have been knocking myself out of it. So have to start over the following day. But, it may take a few days (depending on the 'cheat' carbs seem to go quicker than alcohol), but I do get back into it with a few days of diligence.

Aw, MrsFancy, I am sorry you are struggling. I too have been a bit irritated with the dry lips (lots of chapstick, coconut oil) and intense thirst. Keto is tough, for sure and being pretty new myself, I am unsure whether it will be worth it in the long term. I think you know yourself best and whatever you decide is best…

Wow, I love this, thank you for sharing. I learn something every day which is helping me to adjust and live healthier! Happy Friday!

Oh,love the Keto reference...so I would have lost 120 sticks of butter, but I also prefer to go with losing 6 bags of Sugar!! Crazy to think of it like that....crazy awesome!!

Happy Anniversary!! I am so impressed by your story and your weight loss...you've lost a whole person! I totally agree with you that sometimes a calorie deficit and exercise does not work, probably most frequently in those of us prone to diabetes(?). I have recently started low carb, and in the past two weeks, I've dropped…

Congratulations!! So inspiring to read these stories, I love it that folks are able to share! You know you earned this through your hard work and focus...ups and downs, good and bad days...we all have them. Some let them spiral out of control and knock out any good work already done, but not you. I totally see the…

You guys are so inspiring...so many times we (even us mothers) get so internally focused when it comes to our weight management issues, that we don't have the awareness of how we could also be helping our families. I can claim this a little bit, as over the past few weeks I've realized how making separate meals and…
