Women who are 5' 8", what is your weight goal?
Hello, I'm 5' 8" and curious what others my height are aiming for weight wise. While I do have a weight loss goal, and am tracking my food, exercise and measurements, my real personal goals are more activitity oriented (I want to run a 5k this summer; I want to compete in warrior dash this fall), size focused (drop down 2…

Zero Carb
Has anyone attempted this? I recently joined a group (on facebook) that promotes a "zero carb" woe. Similar enough to Keto/LCHF that it was a fairly easy transition for me. However they limit dairy and all vegs. There are some people in that group who have been following that woe for 5-10 years. Many of the people say they…

I was that person at the movie theater today..
who brought my own snacks with me!! Yep, I'm working extra hard to stay in Keto, so going to the movies with the family was a concern because I love twizzlers and popcorn. Instead I brought pork rinds with me, slim jims and mozzarella sticks and bought a diet coke and a thing of nacho cheese and it was awesome! This is one…

Ketostix, again
I know there is a lot of controversy about using these, however, I have used them off and on for several months to see when I'm in ketosis--usually after a high carb binge. My understanding of why they are not reliable is as that after someone has ketoadapted, your body processes your fat burning differently and the…

My month on keto
I started following the keto WOE in Septmeber. From then until Thankgiving I lost weight consistently, although I was actively learning and not always hitting my macros. I did hit my goal weight of 165 lbs at that time and, although I decided to lower my goal, thought I would cut myself some slack and "enjoy the holidays".…

Low Carb shakes
Anyone have any experience with a low carb shake option? I used to make a morning shake, which I really enjoyed. I've replaced with my BPC, but wondered if there were any good low carb powder shake options for days when I'm either really busy or just not that hungry.

Ate bread yesterday, wicked headach followed
So, coming off carbs I found myself with the typical keto flu symptoms and am usually prepared for them. However, yesterday, for the first time in a long time, I had a couple of bites of bread at lunch and again at dinner (yummy dark rye at lunch and a beautiful crispy focaccia at dinner). My carbs were still under 50g for…

I'm having a hard time with Fiber...
I don't seem to be getting much of it. Ideas people? I'd prefer to eat my fiber in foods, instead of a supplement. I am trying to keep my carbs at 20g, and have cut a lot of fruits and veggies. What I am missing as a way to up my fiber intake?

Stupid coffee run...
Got a cappuccino from Starbucks...16 grams of carbs!? WTH and I was on such a role keeping my carbs below 20. Still have to get dinner with clients tonight, there's no way I'll be under 30, let alone 20. So frustrating, such a dumb mistake. Anyone have one of these moments:

Who am I....
Since starting LCHF diet I find myself doing the strangest things...like: Today at a 'working' lunch, I took my sandwich, skipped the chips and pasta sides...threw away the bread. At the end of the meeting, when everyone else was scrounging for the desserts, I grabbed another half of a corned beef sandwich and, again,…

Ketones, explained
I learn something every day and today I read this and thought, oh, now I really get it! "Ketones? Ketones are incompletely burned carbon fragments. The very fact that they are less efficient as fuel is what makes them give you that 'metabolic advantage.' Some of the calories burned are not used to their full capacity...…

Keto Question
So, I am easing back into keto and have a question for those of you are more experienced then me. What effect does a cheat day have on weight loss? Specifically I mean most of what I have read about weight loss and ketosis state the first few weeks you experience the most weight loss, due to the body adjusting. So if you…

Is it grams of carbs or percentage of the day's nutrition?
Hi Everyone, I am very new to the LCHF and was in ketosis for a few days and lost 4 lbs. I am eating this way specifically for weight loss purposes so find it successful for that. Today I had a big carb day and ate over 127 grams, which equaled 30% of my calories for the day. I had a high calorie allotment due to exercise…

My NSV...share yours
So, I am new to the low carb eating and still figuring out what works for me (and what doesn't). Couple of weeks in, I am retraining myself to eat more fat, because we all knew that fats make us fat...right? And to cut back on my breads, rice and other grain products. Anyhow, today, I got a salad at this tiny place near…

Being fooled by the "healthy stuff" on the menu
Just realized my eggplant and chicken "healthy" wrap at lunch was almost 1000 calories...This is why I should always pack my lunch. Seriously. This is the second time a wrap sandwich has gotten me, yes, I should know better. What things do you find surprisingly high in calories?

I ran a 6:53 minute mile
Completed my first all running 5k yesterday and the first mile I must have gotten caught up with all the race excitement, because I was super fast, (for me) at 6:53. My average pace was 9:45 and I am stoked for my next run in 2 weeks.

I'm Motivated by my mother
Unfortunately, not in a good way. My mom is 66 years old. She is diabetic, she has CVD, hypertension, high cholesterol. She eats like crap, always has. Smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, but is down from two a day (for now) so thinks that's enough. She thinks medicine and doctors should fix everything, but doesn't make any…

6 week 6 pack for June
Hi All, Just finished Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 (barely) on May 31st and started her 6 week 6 pack yesterday. Wondering if anyone else has done this work out? I see a lot of folks dong the RI30 and her Shred videos, but can't find anyone doing the ab video. I had great results with the RI30 (7 lbs and 7 inches lost)…

Week 2 check in
Hey, how is everybody doing with the second week? We had a lot of posters during week one, so where did everyone go? I did day 3 of week two this morning and it kills my shoulders. I am really struggling through it, but keep going, even if I'm hanging with Natalie instead of Jillian, and Shelly would just kick my @ss.…

Questions about workout schedule and fatigue/energy
I am fairly new to working out. Over the past month I have started walking in my very hilly neighborhood, doing a couch 2 5k program (week 3 currently) and am in week 2 of Ripped in 30. Usually this means I do RI30 4-5 times a week, do my run walk 1x per week and then the hilly hike walk 3-4 times a week (usually…

Totally obsessed with Ruby Red Grapefruit!
I just need to share with someone my new obsession! I am in love with this fruit right now! I have NEVER enjoyed it in the past, but last week I decided on a whim to pick one up at the market and I have had one every day for the past 5 days. love, love, love. Have a great day!

Can you work out "Too Much"?
In Febrary, I joined a gym that specializes in athletic conditioning. I am by NO MEANS an athlete, but I love their workouts. They combine Cardio (mostly running, but some bikes and jumping) with strength training. We use a mix of weights, resistance bands, partner exercises, etc. etc. Every class is different, but we do a…
