Carbs 5 % Protein 20% Fat 75%

ToM, maybe? Lots of women see increases during their cycle. Three pounds would also get chalked up to a daily variance, as most of us can fluctuate (for no reason) up to 5 lbs a day. You say you try to only concern yourself with your 7th day weigh in, but that's not working for you if you continue to weigh daily. Do you…

Sure, if you're not hungry at that time. If you're skipping lunch to ingest lower calories during the day, then NO, because when your hunger hits later, you may binge. Weight loss isn't a race. Lower your daily calorie intake, focus on eating food which keeps you satisfied and energized. You are young, your metabolism is…

Eat a high protein snack with some fat before leaving work. That may carry you through the commute and dinner prep without feeling starved. I eat low carb, so try to have a boiled egg or string cheese before leaving work, then snack on olives or some other low carb finger food while prepping dinner for my family.

I believe in watching both, but I focus on my carb intake and do not worry so much about being over in calories. Also, if you keep track of the data and you have to modify something (due to a stall), you will have more information to work with. With this woe, it's really important to pay attention to your body over what…

Do you know why you fainted? Have you followed up with your doctor?

Feel free to add me, I think my diary is open to friends. It's not perfect, but most days I am for 20 net grams of carbs a day.

Totally agree with kirkor and sbom1 that as long as your (water) drinking habits remain consistent, your weight fluctuations cannot be chaulked up to when you drink it. That being said, on the dates when I plan to weigh and record, I do cut back my water consumption the evening before (otherwise I drink several glasses…

I think for the OP it actually is. She's having knee surgery and wants to be as light as possible beforehand. Overall I agree, slow and steady...but I can see her point and why she wants to lose as much as possible. However, I think too many and too frequent "tweaks" will only confuse her more and make it even harder for…

Don't go too low, your body needs the energy. I would follow the recommendations set for your calorie deficit and just stay on top of your macros, for now. Too many changes and you won't know what's really working, so one thing at a time.
-
For weight loss, yes, you have to be at a calorie deficit. I have found, for myself, that I can eat slightly more daily calories, around 1500 on LCHF and lose, as opposed to a regular SAD at 1200 with no loss. But every body is different, so the key is finding what works for you. Good luck!

Welcome to the LCD forum, here you are going to find lots of success stories, as well as those of people's struggles. There are threads for recipes, success (scale and non-scale), hints on staying motivated, threads talking about mistakes and how to bounce back...just so much information. Some people are very vocal and…

Thank you so much for sharing this article! I have a family history of diabetes (both parents insulin dependent) and heart disease, took care of my mom 2 years ago after she had triple bypass surgery and vowed not to follow her health path. CVD and Diabetes worry me and I know being low carb is going to make me healthier,…

Wow, CONGRATULATIONS on your success so far! 24.9 lbs is awesome! I agree with radii, that weight loss comes from controlling our diets and that exercise is for fitness and well being. I feel stronger, better and more motivated when I am also working out. Transitioning into keto is tough, so lots of people do not work out…
-
For LCHF, your body is dumping it's water stores, so you have to keep your intake very high.
-
Try some broth. This woe flushes sodium on its out, now add in an hour long work out. I always find when I am really dizzy and nauseous when I haven't had enough sodium.
-
No such thing. Some members aim for NO carbs...others set their macros where they are most comfortable. If your goal is weight loss, and that's what you are seeing, then you are accomplishing your goals. Just pay attention to your energy levels and how you feel.

I had a 6lb gain last weekend too. I went away for a weekend with my girlfriends, JUMPED out of ketosis, and struggled all week to loss those 6lbs and get back into ketosis (just got there yesterday). The hardest part of this WOE is being consistent and staying in ketosis. When we fall (or in my case jump), off the wagon,…

I completely understand your reluctance to reduce your alcohol intake, however it looks like those are the days which you really go over on your calorie allotment. The LCHF woe is a huge adjustment for people, and I personally struggle with the impact it has on my socializing (as, like most, 'social' usually means…

There are websites that list what nutrients you want when you have certain cravings. Try and google them and see if that helps. I don't know any food craving which water will eliminate, but I get the point of trying to stay really full with water.

I am in the same boat. Went away with my girlfriends over the weekend, overindulged in food and alcohol so went up 6 lbs!! It's taken me several days to get back down, and I'm still 1lb over. I knew this was going to happen though and am now fighting my way back into Ketosis. It is just like sljohnson says, the carbs store…

Cheat days usually sound better then they actually are. Getting into ketosis can be very tough for some people (like me), with the keto flu. That's not saying that I haven't cheated...because I did this weekend. I tried to stay on plan, but a girls weekend with breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks and then brunch...it just got…

Been there too. It's a learning process, not only on how we fuel our bodies, but also how to socialize around food and booze. That's the biggest issue for me. When I attend a social function, I have to be very careful with my drinking, as it will snowball into bad food choices. Don't beat yourself up. You are obviously…

To each there own FIT_Goat...you already know what works for you, and it isn't tracking! So kind of you to attempt the logging and I am not going to lie, I am totally going to creep in your diary!!
-
I aim for 20g, with the understanding that the food logs are not 100% accurate and if I have a big carb day, then I still have a lot of wiggle room...once in ketosis at least. I find the longer I eat very low, the easier it gets. My issues are always around ToM or social occasions (usually weekends with a little too much…

It's because you get an insulin spike from the sweetness and when that subsides, your body tells you to replenish it. When you have the toast, eggs and bacon, you have do not have the insulin spike, as your body burns that fuel more steadily without an urgent need to replenish it...something like that. It's a good thing…

French fries with mayo...Actually, I could go for that right now!!

Petr8888, I think this is what a lot of people struggle with on this WOE. Not only are we reprogramming our diets, but for a lot of us, we have to reconfigure how we socialize. I know a night out with my girlfriends usually involves food (pizza, pasta or Chinese being the favorites) and drinks (beer, wines and mai tai's…

I bumped myself out of Keto last weekend (much needed {and appreciated}) girls weekend. I'm back at it working hard to get back into Keto and think once I've been there for a few days, I'll try the egg fast. Anyone else thinking of going for it? Maybe we can commiserate together?

I just tried to make chicken skin chips, not an original recipe, but first go at it. I had a couple pounds of chicken thighs, and I took the skins off, seasoned and crisped them in the boiler. Maybe I overcooked them, but they were not good. :(
