I am training for my first half also. It is on May 5th. Reaching distances that you have never run before brings a huge rush! I ran 10 miles for the first time last Saturday and it was so rewarding. You will do great, just keep at it. You are only racing against yourself, so just do what you can.

Try changing the foods that you are eating. If you eat the same thing every day your body will adjust. Also, I find that if I change my workout routines and times that can often shoot me out of a plateau. If you normally work out in the evening, get up in the morning before work for a week and see if that helps. Also, try…

Yes. I love working out on the weekends because I am not so rushed and don't feel guilty about not seeing my family for more than a couple of hours.

Had a great 4th! Went on a 15 mile bike ride in the morning, then ate not that great and had a few beers. Shot off a few fireworks with the kids. I stayed under by limiting the amoint of brisket that I ate, but still squeezed in a little cake and homemade ice cream!

I like to scope out the menu before I go. Then I can see the caloric values on their site or put them into MFP to figure out the bet choices. I usually know what I am going to get ahead of time.

Great ideas. I will definitely try the pizza. It is really the big thing that I miss. I have been eating the Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches to feed my sweet tooth.

Pizza and chicken wings are the two biggies for me. The sweets have been surprisingly easy for me. But dang I love pizza. Just not worth a thousand calories, though!

I am in. 40 with two kids (6&4). Started at the beginning of March at 326. I should get below 300 this week (currently 302.4) for the first time in as long as I can remember. Looking forward to getting healthy with you guys.
