Gluten free foods usually carry more calories than their regular counterparts. They also have higher carb loads than whole grain versions -- lack of fiber that would otherwise help keep blood sugar in check. I'm guessing that when you first went on a GF diet, you had cut down on calories, and now that you have found more…

I use sedentary, and then when I exercise, I eat back about 2/3 of my exercise calories.

Any time you eat out -- fast food, frozen meals, even packaged deli meats, they all contain high levels of sodium. Think about making home-cooked meals -- this will help lower the sodium in general, but you know exactly what is going into your food. Sodium is used as a preservative and to greatly enhance the flavor of…

I add it to Fage greek yogurt. I especially love the Fage with raspberry on the side -- Nutella and raspberries! :drinker:

I have the same problem. For whatever reason, my body is hungry in the late day/early evening. I choose to eat a very light breakfast (200 cals), a light lunch (200 cals), and I might have a light snack in the afternoon, but otherwise I save most of my calories for dinner and 2nd dinner (haha!) at about 7pm - 8pm. :drinker:

I would ask for a re-test, or try a different place. It seems strange that they wouldn't give you any information right away. They should have at least offered a better explanation. I just had mine tested at the YMCA about 2 months ago, and my RMR tested at 1988 calories! :noway: Because it was so high, they retested…

Here is Russ' October 8th update: "Hey everyone. I have some sad news to deliver to you today. Jeff has expressed to me that he’s not interested in continuing the podcast. I’d like your feedback on whether to continue the podcast or not. What would you like to hear? There are still a ton of questions from y’all that have…

Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes for it to synch up. You can force it to synch by putting the fitbit into its base, and even then it might take a minute before you see an update. As for synching the fitbit site to your MFP account -- sometimes that is just SLOW.....

There is a setting on the Fitbit site to set your sleep tracker to "normal" or "sensitive". Are you also holding down the button to start and end your sleep time -- or are you entering the time manually? :drinker:

You might be eating too few calories. MFP had my calories at 1200, until I learned that I needed to eat more to lose weight. Now I am up to 1700-1800 calories a day, and I am never hungry (and losing weight)! :drinker:

Zumba instructors that don't use Latin music for most of the session. Isn't that what Zumba is supposed to be? And yes.... People who crowd behind you because they are trying to "hide". One of these days I am going to end up with my finger up someone's nose.... :drinker:

We love our Ninja too!! Just don't bother with the "Kitchen System" -- lots of people have burnt out the motor trying to mix cookie dough!

The new points plus plan is more difficult to convert into calories, as opposed to the old plan. I did count both points and calories for a while just to see where I was at, and found that I was eating too few calories. I still use many of the tools that they had given me, but I have since dropped the WW plan.
-
My review is mixed. I lost weight on the old points plan (about 9 lbs), but gained most of it back when they switched to the new points plus plan (7.5 lbs). I do believe however, that I was eating too few calories under the old plan. Now, with MFP I think I am on a better track. I did learn better eating habits from WW --…

Don't be afraid to talk to the hospital about working out a payment plan. You could make monthly payments, and then pay the rest off with your tax return. It never hurts to ask -- I'm sure the are many other people in your shoes! Is there a relative that could help with a little of the cost? I have a hard time eating bacon…

Between the time I found out I had gall stones and the time I had my gall bladder removed -- it didn't matter what I ate, I still had pain. I would look into having your gall bladder removed before your bile duct gets plugged. It could cause infection and more problems (not to mention more money) in the long run! There…

No strength training yet. I just started some cardio (Wii zumba and Just Dance) 3 days a week, for 30 minutes. I plan to increase my cardio this month, and I will try to add some strength training to the routine!
