Big yay for a UK & Ireland list! I'll be doing the London Spartan Sprint (16th May), Super (20th Sept) and Beast (27th Sept) this year.

Hi everyone! I just started Stage One, and have been blogging about it, if anyone is interested. :) http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/knitfastpurlyoung

How about we change it to.... "Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels." - MFPers :)

Yes SIR! :D

Hell yeah they do! I'm 5'10! Feel free to add. :)

I went from being pretty inactive to being in the gym 2-3 times a week, and my cycle stopped for 4 months. I didn't change what I was doing, and it came back of its own accord. That was my experience, and it seems to be a pretty common thing. If in doubt visit your doctor!

You legend!

I've just started in the weights area myself, and a few sessions later I feel much more comfortable there now. I certainly experienced that first-day-of-school feeling, but the more I go, the more welcome I feel. I find it helps to stay open and friendly, which hopefully invites advice or tips from those around me. Its…

Re: 2.8 Hours Later - I've applied to be a volunteer. Keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

Thank you! I think Zombie Evacuation will be my next one! Tough Mudder is a little out of my league just now, but aiming for 2014. 2.8 Hours looks like a dream come true, but the London one is sold out! May have to travel to another city!! Looks epic!

Those are my favourites as well. SO moving. Also, I'm a little in love with Tig, so the scene where he takes the mushrooms, the scene in the pink dressing gown, Tig/Gemma and the episode with his daughter all rank pretty highly!

Best thing I've seen all day. Amazing.

Wow! You lot are inspiring! I just ran my first obstacle race this weekend, and I loved it. Looking into what other races I can sign up for! If anyone has any suggestions, I am London (UK) based. :)

So glad it went well! :)

Ran my first obstacle on Sunday, and found that my normal trainers sucked and I nearly stacked it down the steep hills a dozen times. I'll be checking out some trail shoes for sure. Thank you for the info!

Further to this point... I used to work in Ted Baker, and their clothes only came in UK sizes 6, 8, 10, 12. Now I work sometimes in advertising, and I use the phrase "on-brand" and "off-brand" more than I'd like. Ted Baker considered UK sizes 14+ overweight, and therefore "off-brand". Simply put, they didn't want…

Oooh, that could be a good idea... Nice one!

Ah! Thank you. I'll take a look.

I'm definitely leaning towards one of these programmes. Although, now I know what hotel I'm in, I doubt I'll have the floor space... Grrrr....
-
I will thank you! Its a cheap, chain hotel, which I've since found out doesn't have a gym, so I will definitely be seeing if they have a relationship with a local gym, or can recommend one, or seek out a month's membership. Thank you!
-
Thank you! I will check out all of those. :)

bump.

What is CLX?

A resistance band is a good idea...

That looks really great! Thank you! :D

"...in the few hours we had together we loved a lifetime's worth." - Terminator "It BELONGS in a MUSEUM!" - Indiana Jones "Look at your reflection in the mirror. You're a creature of the night Michael, just like out of a comic book! You're a vampire Michael! My own brother, a goddamn, ****-sucking vampire. You wait 'till…

This. By the time I was 16, I had a few years of karate under my belt, but that wasn't what prevented me from being attacked. I had been chatting to a drunk guy on the platform, waiting to get on the last train home from Brighton. Small talk to pass the time. The last train is always (or used to be) full of partygoers…

Oh wow. Hands down, you win. That is very unnerving.
