I'd love to hear some ideas on this as well. I'm in the same boat--new to MFP, and interested in keeping my metabolism from stagnating. How effective is calorie cycling? How many up days vs down days? How much of a spread?

We're almost exactly in the same spot! I'm 5'2" (barely) and my highest weight in January of 2012 was 175. I'm now at 168.
