Others members may add, but here is a start. 1. It is recommended that we eat 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat. Generally speaking folks are told to shoot for 1g of protein per pound of body weight. 2. Heavy lifting is relative to the person. You should only be able to do 10-12 reps. If you can do 20 then it isn't heavy…

I sleep enough. I get about 7.5 hours then get the hubs off to work and then another .5 nap. :) I have decided to not workout until Monday. The hubs was a little shocked when I told him and that made be feel a bit guilty, but I am beginning to realize I need the break as much mentally as I do physically. I'll report back…

What?! You can't be saying that I shouldn't gobble down a Hershey bar before bed, can you?

Okie Dokie, then. Anyone want to message me on Saturday to make sure I get back at it?

Yes, six days a week for an hour. I took 4 days off in March for vacation and 3 days off in April for my son's wedding. I will take your suggestion on the change up in workout. Do you still think I should take a break before the change?
-
I guess I could take a few days off. I am a bit scared that a "few" will turn into a "few too many". :/

Oh, and you could apply ice to help reduce the swelling. Just use a soft cloth in between so it doesn't touch the skin. Do intervals of on and off with the ice. Don't just leave it while you watch TV or go to bed.

I am sorry to hear about your pain! Youch! I used to get chaffing a lot when I waitressed for 12 hours and had to wear hose all the time. First off, don't use peroxide. Just some mild soapy water to clean, rinse and let dry. Try to let as much air to the area as possible. So if you have to sit around in your undies, so be…

In one of the videos...the one on consistency, I think...Kiki talks about this a bit. Basically, if you are just starting out then you should wait to try this method, as your body needs to learn to trust you. If you have been at this long enough to be settled into it, then it can be done. (at least this is how I took it)…

Eat and your energy will come back and you will be able to work out more (but what you are doing seems plenty). Your body is begging for some help. It needs fuel. I am in my 7th week and am totally loving eating more (well, most days). I was feeling just like you when I came looking for solutions and found this group.…

Yes, you should eat 1944 every day. If you are burning 700 calories for a workout, though, I suspect that your tdee is actually higher though. Just make sure on the days that you do have high burns that you don't net below your bmr. 1944-700 = 1244 so on those days you'd need to eat until you at least reached your net of…

Thanks! It was the dress I wore to my son's wedding (less the wrinkles. )

You should likely be eating more. Please take a look at the stickies on the main page of the this group. The school of thought here is to never net below your BMR and very few folks would have a BMR of 1200 calories. Take a look at the stickies and videos listed and then post back with your stats and we can respond in a…

I'm glad you asked this question. :) I will be watching for replies.

I hope your mom is able to get a donor kidney soon. I donated a kidney in July of 2010.

Ya know, you're right! Thanks for that and all the work you do on this forum. Be blessed!

Lucia, I think, if I recall correctly, that we are the about the same height/age range. I'm 5'7" and 43yo. Your stats encourage me tremendously since my fav jeans that I am hoping to get back into are a 6. I am a snug 8 right now and weigh 150#. Thank you so much for your efforts in this forum.

You all may also like this calculator: http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced There is a pdf you can print so you can track a 24 hour period to see if you are tracking enough activity.

For my strength training I do abs & legs one day and abs & arms the next. So three days of each. I am do abs/core every day because I am trying to strengthen my back (bulging disc). I have watched ALL the videos...I am like an info junkie at this point. I have seen the scooby calc before and I think I am pretty close to…

I had the same after the weekend of my son's wedding. I went up 5# and felt yucky. I would suggest LOTS of water for the next couple of days. It will help you to reset and shed the water you are holding.

Thanks for your reply. I'm pressing on until my 6 week mark, then I will evaluate where to go from there.

You're right. I need to bear that in mind. It is a HUGE change in thinking for me. I wish I could put the scale away for a while. I need to wait until this intro period is over for me so I can tell the hubs how it works...then we can put the scale away.

I am a homeschool mom, too. But I am a "veteran"...2 have graduated and only one high schooler left at home. My oldest got married last weekend.

Thanks! Do you find the smell of the capsules to show in your breath? I am concerned because they are so smelly. :P
-
I think I'll give that a try. I wasn't even having milk until I upped my calories. I think the whey put me over the top. I think I will also try some soy milk. Crazy how versatile soy is...I make soy candles, and granted they smell good enough to eat...I sure wouldn't. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I would have never thought I was lactose intolerant, but it may explain things.

Thanks for the encouragement! BTW - love your user name. :)

Glad to hear this is normal! I am totally feeling the same way!

I keep re-reading this to keep my head in the game. I have been upping to about 1850 cals/day for about 9 days. The scale hasn't moved, which is good...but my son gets married in two week and it sure is tempting to "crash" diet to look good for pics. Ah well, I'll look better by the time the grandkids roll around. :/
