  • I cut out booze completely 10 months ago. Sparkling water ( zero calories) was my go to and I'd put it in a wine glass . For about three months I drank so much sparkling water it was nuts. If I went out, I'd bring non alcoholic beer or wine and have a few. Now I rarely drink the sparkling water and it's super rare for me…
  • Gorgeous, shiny looking hair
  • Fresh faced and classic beauty
  • I run for 45 minutes, 3-4 times a week and have been doing so since January 25. I am not going near the scale ( evil) but I am just now starting to notice my body toning up. I would be interested in what others had to say as well as I am fairly new to running and had to start very gradually to work up to my current ability.

  • Please take this the right way: It looks like you lost 70 pounds to me! seriously, you have created a totally different body! Amazing results!!!! amazing. You should be incredibly proud. All the best, A
  • Keep going! You are so young and you have so much life ahead of you to enjoy as a fit ,young woman! take it on! You have accomplished so much already!! amazing!
  • The closer you are to your goal, the smaller the deficit... it worked for me!
  • I dont think we need to exercise every day. I believe one or two rest days is crucial to healing our bodies and encouraging fat metabolism. I exercise about 4 days a week, sometimes 5 and I do it because I feel so good afterwards! I am also seeing great results from heavier strength training so that is a huge motivator to…
  • I personally think that if you continue eating so little and burning so much you will gain any weight that you lose, if you even lose any. this is not a healthy way to fuel your body. Eat at least what MFP suggests, and use your exercise as your deficit. This is a healthy and enjoyable way to lose weight because you will…
  • amazing story...enjoy your beautiful life together
  • i LOVE me some skinny cows! Costco has the cases here in BC for 10 bucks...must get some asap. I Havn't had the mint ones though!!!! sounds delish!
  • THis^^^ I didnt start losing weight until I ate 2000 calories and just took my deficit from moderate exercise ( 2 full rest days) I dont think you are eating enough.
  • 30 day shred is what I started with in getting back to fitness and it was great because it is progressive ( gets harder as you move along) and it is short ( 20 minutes), so the likelihood of actually working out is greater! I got results from the shred, but not scale results. I looked leaner and smaller after about two…
  • ever since eating More, I have no clue other than the calendar that my TOM is coming. No cramps, grumpiness or bumping into walls ( used to be such a klutz right before!). I sleep WAAAAY better now too! I think it's the hormone regulation that comes with healthy balanced eating and providing your body with enough calories.
  • I echo what OP and many others have said, that this process takes patience. It was not until I upped my calories to 2000, which is only 90 calories under my TDEE that I noticed scale loss. I only have a few pounds to lose so this makes sense- to have a small deficit with eating and use exercise to create a slightly larger…
  • It has been slow going for me too, and for the first 6 weeks or so of MFP I lost nothing. The only thing that worked for me was strength training, reducing workouts ( yes, your body needs rest days!) and eating more. Once I upped my calories to 2000 ( my TDEE is 2089) the scale started moving in the happy direction. Sounds…
  • I seem to recall this symptom mentioned on one of the other threads in our discussion forums. People had definitely mentioned extreme tiredness after increasing cals. I have had it too, but didnt know if it was attributed to my having a cold or TOM or what. Not sure of the reason, but I know you are not alone in this…
  • It may at the beginning,as your body adjusts to the feeding! Hang tight. Many people experience a TEMPORARY gain of 2-5 pounds that is mostly water anyway. Put the scale away and give it 6 weeks. This is not a process that is INSTANT. Read the stickies in the group Eat More to Lose Weight. I never gained, but many do so…
  • I am very sorry that happened to you. That sounds horrible, and no wonder you carry that memory with you. The mental aspect of raising one's calories after a lifetime of opposite messages is a difficult hurdle on this path. TRUST the process, but give it time. Be gentle on yourself. You deserve it. Best of luck to you on a…
  • Looks like it's chow down time for you! Protein shakes and peanut butter? avocados on toast???
  • @Greysmom: We're such keeners for this approach!
  • Check out the Group " Eat More to Lose Weight" for lots of info but the idea is to eat -15% of TDEE and only eat back exercise calories if you fall below your BMR. IF you fall below BMR, just eat back till you NET BMR. Personally, as one who only has a few pounds to lose, I had the most success when I at very close to my…
  • If I knew at the beginning how awesome this way of eating is and how it would be the ONLY thing that let me lose weight and inches, I would have started this right away. Go for it! Just think: healthy food, lots of it, some room for treats.....SUSTAINABLE FOR LIFE!
  • What are you feeling guilty about? Try and remind yourself that eating plenty of good food is what your body needs to function optimally, improve mood and provide you with the energy needed to exercise and enjoy life. If anything, since eating more, I have never felt so free from food issues because I am always satisfied,…
  • I have no pics to show, but honestly, I have to say to all of you who posted pics on this thread: You have made amazing progress!!! These pictures are like stories of true dedication. Unreal transformations !!!! I am just in awe of you.
  • I can totally understand the need to increase calories slowly, and did just that myself during this journey. However, if I knew what I know now about the effectiveness of this way of eating and training, I wish I had just made the leap sooner. I would have just gone for it and upped to what was recommended. Just my two…
  • The only time I DID see progress was when I upped my cals to just below TDEE. My TDEE is 2096. Now I eat 2000 calories! I dont eat back any excercise cals though. I am very near goal, so I may need just a very slight deficit to get my body working at losing again. Very very satisfying to eat like a queen and lose inches…
  • I know! If I get that far I may do that too! Baby baby baby steps....
  • In response to the above post.... I have lost 3 pounds, which sounds totally lame, but I only have 8 max to lose. I have been trying to figure out calories since joining MFP in March and it was not until up upped my calories to 2000 that I lost anything! I also cut down my workouts to 3 strength training and 2 max cardio…
  • A sampling of what I eat; I eat oatmeal or a protein shake with a banana for breakfast. sometimes peanut butter on Ezekiel bread, toasted. salad with chicken or turkey or quinoa with "greek salad " mixed in and a V8 for lunch For snacks: almonds, protein bars, fruit, veggies and hummous, hard boiled eggs, cheese strings,…
