Yes, I have them. I always attributed them to fat (love handles). Didn't realize they were something to be desired. So, guess I don't find them sexy.

No. If you've backed off on your lifting, your muscles have stopped retaining as much water since they don't need it to heal. There is no reason that lifting would've prevented fat loss, that is controlled 100% by diet.

Go away. No one wants you here. :noway:

Holy crap they shopped ~30 pounds off her. I would be furious if a magazine did that to me.

I am a fan (Redwings!) and a player (albeit rather new and unskilled). Best sport there is!

Exactly what are you taking to detox yourself from lead? I've never heard of this and unless it's doctor prescribed I would be highly wary. If you are taking 40 pills at 10 calories each that is 400 calories. That is a huge difference and you need to track it. Now most likely many of these pills don't have calories (only…

It really depends on what you are looking for. Stronglifts is a nice simple workout that has few moves to learn and gets you in and out of the gym quickly. I started on New Rules of Lifting for Women, which I liked because it mixed things up a bit more and worked cardio in after a while. I don't know anything about Chalean…

Thanks! I still cringe at that back roll in the before picture.
-
I lost ~35 pounds drinking 1-2 cans of diet pop a day.

Same weight, both pictures. Lifting heavy and eating ~2000 calories/day. Edited because I feel like I should add, I went from size 8 jeans to size 4 between the two pics. So there is no way that lifting made me look heavy :-)

I completed NROL4W in March and am now doing NROL Supercharged. Loved both programs :-) I plan on switching to as split routine after I finish Supercharged probably--but that won't until January or so.

True dat lol Bacon, chocolate, peanut butter, good cheese, wine.... mmm

I don't really have a problem with this, but I stay out of the "Lick bite screw" garbage posts. I suggest you do the same OP.

My body but without scoliosis (damned asymmetry drives me crazy) and maybe 2-3% less body fat.

You've got all the right moves but would get more benefit if you did the free weight versions of the exercises (pull-ups, barbell rows, squats, etc). Can you ask your coach to show you proper form on free weights?
-
18-20% (my DH just got bod-pod tested at 18% and I'd put you at a little higher with similar build)
-
Lemme guess, your PTF got his license on that special GroupOn was running last week?
-
No. Your scale dropped when you didn't lift because your muscles had time to recover so they retained less water.
-
You will need more than 50 (or 100 pounds) for deadlifts and squats quickly enough.

My opinion is that the results of the study reflect the sample population accurately. Because, it's a study. Such studies usually are based out of a university and use local subjects, so I'm guessing geographic region has a big influence on the results. I would postulate that men in highly urban areas place more value on…

What are you looking for opinions on? The "truthness" of this statement?

FFS Britney Spears has never been "bulky" in her life. Overweight, sure. Fit, sure. But bulky? Find me a picture. If you're going to post a beat-to-death topic and play it off as for general interest, you shouldn't pose it in a ludicrously biased way. Bulky versus slim/slender.

Any serious lifter is pushing their limits on a regular basis. You don't have to be training for the Olympics to be training as hard as possible. I might not be benching 450, but I am putting forth as much effort to bench 80 as the guy benching 5 times that, therefore I'm entitled to grunt just as loudly.

Well steak is still a good idea, IMHO. But kale and spinach are also pretty good without the processed carbs. ETA Iron is difficult to absorb as a supplement and adequate doses are known to cause undesired side effects. I would steer clear of that route unless you are actually anemic.

Steak.

You are the most sexist person I've encountered on the internet. I feel like I should send you a medal. :noway:

Lol at MY gym I'm usually the only one grunting. There are very few serious lifters who know what the *kitten* they are doing at my gym.
-
Nope, I probably would be dead because I would stop to go "Ohh Pretty Kitty!" and get fried.

It's going to come down a lot more to diet than exercise. A teenage boy should have plenty of the right hormones to build muscle if properly fueled, but he'll be burning up a lot of calories just by growing, being active, and distance running. Can you take him to a sports oriented nutritionist? I'm guessing he'll need to…
