Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Scoliosis, and Hypermobility?
Over the last few months, I have drawn a link between my hypermobility and scoliosis. I have been (kind of) diagnosed with Type 3 Ehlers-Danlos Syndrom. I say kind of, because with Type 3 there is no genetic test. But I have found that I do in fact have many of the symptoms, including: Scoliosis Joint hypermobility Joint…

This is what is wrong with the fitness industry
I snapped this shot at a local ****'s Sporting Goods. This was the heaviest of the "pretty" kettlebells clearly being marketed to women, and the lightest of the one's being marketed neutrally (or to men for that matter). Yes, they are the same exact weight. Additionally, here's the model used in the marketing campagin: The…

Oh no! I gained 8 pounds....
On purpose! Just finished my first bulk. Over 10 weeks I gained 8 pounds (I'm guessing 3 pounds of water, the rest fat and muscle). Here's me before beginning lifting (133 pounds), after 8 months of lifting and eating around TDEE or at a very slight deficit (1800-2200 cals, 129 pounds), and after 2.5 months of lifting and…

Training though shoulder injury
I've been battling repeat partial dislocations of my shoulder for about a year now. I am under the care of a physician and he doesn't think anything is torn and encourages me to continue lifting to build muscle for stability. I figured out that kinesiology tape allows me to train without pain or instability, which is…

1 year on MFP+NROL4W+40lb Lost (Pics)
Last week marked my one year anniversary of logging onto MFP and happened to coincide with finishing the "New Rules of Lifting for Women" Program! I am soooo happy with the changes I've made to my life and body this last year! A big thanks to all my friends on here for the inspiration, encouragement, and commiseration - -…

Deload and calorie reset
Is it advisable for a deload week (I'm planning on zero lifting, cardio limited to walking, biking, and yoga) to coincide with the end of my cut cycle (so I plan on eating at TDEE instead of 15% under as I've been doing for the last 8 weeks)? Or should I do one than the other? Thanks!

60 days of NROLFW Results on 5'5" Female
I didn't think I'd have a success story yet, but the before/after pictures shocked me! So I'm going to share :-) Here is me, about 155-165 pounds last summer I lost 30 pounds with calorie restriction (1200-1400/day) and cardio (eating back exercise calories) to get to my "Before" picture at 133 pounds. I wasn't happy with…

Is this normal?
Last month to this month, not sure if my curve got this much worse or just my posture. According to the doctor's office, I've shurnk 0.75" and I've been having major back pain. Does anyone else see this much change in short amounts of time?? I've never done monthly pictures before

Vibrams for Lifting?
Yay or nay? I'm currently wearing some basic Puma's (not running sneakers) but I have some Vibrams. From what I've been reading, less is more when it comes to shoes for lifting, but I'm a little worried about injury and gym regulations. I'm doing New Rules of Lifting for Women if that makes a difference (squats, deads,…

Clothes
Sometimes I really hate getting dressed in the morning. Recently, I gave in and bought an insert for my bra to even out the girls. It boosted my confidence so much! I feel so much better about wearing tank tops and wrap style things now. Anybody have any clothing tips they'd like to share? Best lines for not emphasizing…

Scoliosis
I am looking for other people with scoliosis (mild to severe) to start a group. I know for me, my severe scoliosis has a major impact on my goals, exercise, and body image and would like to find support from others who are going through the same thing. Anyone on here interested?

Scoliosis and BMR
I have a slightly different BMR/TDEE question. I have pretty severe scoliosis (40 degree curve in spine) that actually shrinks me about 2-3 inches. I have calculated my BMR, TDEE, and BF% using my actual height, 5'5", but consistently lost a lot more weight than predicted by those methods. Is it possible that I should be…
