  • I went cold turkey, if you get through the first week is easier and easier, and then it comes to a point when you don't crave it anymore. I have gotten awesome results by cutting dairy and processed carbs
  • I weigh in daily, which is not something I would advise, but I cannot help myself. I go through phases where a few days I don't lose anything, or I even weight more, and then bum! the numbers start coming down again. Your body needs time to adjust to what you are doing, sometimes it may lag 1 or 2 weeks before you start…

  • I got a boob job, and I actually liked it so much that it has helped my self esteem so much, that it has been the main motivator to lose weight and feel even better about myself. www.realself.com is a good resource to see real pics, prices, etc. If you can afford it, why not????
  • simply STUNNING!!!!!!!!!
  • Once you finish week 5, you are pretty much done! its the most difficult week in my opinion. But you can do it!

  • I am on a keto diet, but i banished the ketostix because they ere driving me crazy. I eat no carbs/sugar or dairy and one piece of fruit a day and it has worked for me. I was addicted before, now i dont crave that stuff I have tons of energy and i fan workout fine, i went on 22 mile bike ride over the weekend I am almost…
  • I don't trust MFP all that much, I have found it over predicts the cals. I got a bodybugg, to track my calories throgout the day. I got it last week, but so far so good. I noticed the other day I went on a bike ride, I tracked it using the mapmyrun app, the cals burn from the app match what the bodybugg told me, but MFP…
  • PS2: love your profile pic ;)
  • They do go away!!!! I have two kids, I gained about 35 lbs with each. I would say in about 10 months I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight. After my first I got on implanon for BC, but I didn't like it so after a few months I asked my doctor to remove it, and almost immediately I gained 10 lbs, which were impossible for…
  • Yes, get a bodybugg or a fitbit, they track your calories burned througout the day. I have been using a bodybugg for the last week, its cool although the software could use some improvement. In my case it might be overkill because it seems like the other tools I had to track the calories were sufficiently accurate, for the…
  • Did you change the brand of BC pills you are using? I know when I got the implanon I gained 10 lbs in less than a month! and it is only now that I have been able to lose it. I peeked at your diary and it doesn't look that bad at all. I agree with previous poster, I would go back to whatever was working for you before
  • Agreed, the answer to this will always be no, regardless of the circumstances
  • The only thing that jumps at me from your diary is sugar, maybe if you cut back on that .... I use stevia and had gotten used to the taste, not as good as sugar but oh well! The other thing, i dont know your stats but it seems like your calorie goal is high. I set my profile to sedentary (i work in an office) so my goal is…

  • good for you, keep it up, you'll see the results if you stick with it, promise!
  • I think this is not good advice in this instance. She needs to eat better not more. Once she gets a hold on eating healthier, then the whole eat more to weigh less might makes sense. In this instance i fear she may use that as a wild card to eat even more of those unhealthy things There is a lot of good information on this…
  • Who said this????
  • It looks pretty good to me. One question I have is that your calorie goal seems high to me, given your current weight. The way I set my profile is on sedentary, so my target cals is 1200 cals and then if I exercise I eat back my calories.
  • Yeah, it could be that your body needs time to adjust. Keep at it, even if the scale moves up, push through it, in my case that usually means a larger drop is ahead. If you want additional input, you can make your diary public, and we can comment on what you are eating. For me, low carb, low sugar, no dairy has helped…

  • I don't think this is necessarily true, not all calories are all created equal .... with that said, I dont think muscle milk is that bad, it is relatively low in fat, carbs and sugar. I drink the Atkins protein shake usually every other day, they are a bit higher in fat than muscle milk, but lower in carbs and sugar which…
  • I also noticed that the OP is a 43 year old female. Looking at the diary you would think she was a teenager!!!!! I am actually concerned about the health of this person, more so than weight or looks. Eating like this, I see things like diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity in her near future
  • We just have to get you working on your confidence a bit, you were the chubby kid for too long ;) A bit of confidence, and those abs... the ladies wont have a chance, LOL
  • I am sorry, I peeked at your diary and to be quite honest, its awful!!!!! You could eat 1200 cals on cheese burgers, but that doesn't meant you should. If you really are serious about this, you need to switch to a much more healthier way of eating, lots more fruit and veggies, lean meats (not hot dogs), and a lot less…
  • I bet the ladies are lining up for you now, you look awesome!!!! Great job!!!!!!!
  • No you are not, thats an awful thing to say!!!!! Its just harder for some of us because of genes or what not.... but you just have to realize that there are no quick fixes, and its a constant battle. Do you exercise regularly? A doctor recently told me to weigh in every day, and if I want to maintain not let it go over a…
  • I find that its not just the calories, it has to be good quality food. and in my case, exercise has been key. I started at 167, and 5'5", I cut carbs, sugars, dairy, so essentially I am eating lean protein and veggies, and 1 piece of fruit per day. I have lost 2 lbs/week steadily. So my suggestion, get that body moving,…
  • This is the one I have http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Precision-Capacity-Recognition-Technology/dp/B004L6NTHU it measures body fat, water and lean mass as well as overall weight It is pretty sweet! The fat% measurement doesn't match the one my dietitian has, but at least I can see a trend

  • Yeah, I am no runner so I cannot provide much help there, but usually before a work out (or after if I am not hungry before) I have a protein bar, I like the pure protein (http://www.pureprotein.net), they are low in carbs and sugar, something difficult to find in a protein bar! and they test pretty good (for a bar), they…
