Getting back on track - not that much to lose
Hi, I am back after a long hiatus. Last year I lost 15 lbs, basically with a low carb diet, calorie restriction and exercise. Since then I have taken a new role in my company that keeps me pretty busy, plus 2 young children, which means I don't have much time to exercise as much as I was doing. I think I still eat pretty…

NROL4W Basics
I have been reading a bit about NROL4W, and sorry if this has been posted before, but can someone give me the NROL4W in a nutshell? I just want to know if its right for me. My main goal is not to do weight lifting really, my main goal is to prepare for a MS150 next year (150 mile ride in 2 days), but I am doing weight…

Help, I am stuck! please only constructive advice needed
Hi, there, for the last month I am stuck between 151 and 153 lbs. I started this journey doing a ketogenic diet, netting 1000 calories a day, I did that for 8 weeks, then I started transitioning for 4 months, I lost all but 1 lb shy of my goal weight, losing mostly fat, feeling awesome!!!! Then, after reading many many…

Confusing measurements
I started NROL a couple of weeks ago, before that I have been on a supervised diet, I am now on the maintenance phase but I still see a dietitian/physical trainer once a month. Yesterday I had an appt with her, she uses one of those scales that measures body fat. In the last month I have gained 2 lbs, but lost a bit of…

"if every day ...", does MFP ever get it right?
I'll admit, I have been eating at a calorie deficit between 700-1000 calories, which might be too low. Based on that deficit MFP predicts I will drop 1.4-2 lbs/week, so it predicts 7-10 lbs in 5 weeks. Of course reality is different, I have lost 14-15 lbs in 12 weeks, so just over 1 lb/week. Could this be related to the…

protein shake/bar before or after workout
I usually have a protein shake/bar on days I workout as a mid morning snack. I workout at lunch time, and then I eat, usually veggies and lean protein. I always try to eat the "snack" at least one hour prior to working out so it doesn't make me feel "heavy" while exercising. Question is: am I better off holding out until…

Back in my pre-baby jeans
You know those pants that are in the very top of your closet that you keep but deep down you feel like you will never fit into them again????? Yesterday I decided to try them on, thinking I still had a bit more to lose to fit into them, and big surprise: they fit!!!!! I started "dieting" on May 7th, and I have lost about…

Any success stories that involved not eating healthy?
Just curious, as all the success stories i have read involve eating healthier non processed meals and exercising, which is often what i have heard that works and it is what I am doing right now. It seems like i finally got it, finally i found a way to "diet" and exercise at the same time. Diets i have done in the past…

155 g of protein?
Someone posted this link, which I found really interesting http://4chanfit.wikia.com/wiki/Harsh's_Worksheet_(WIP) I am doing most of this stuff, except that I am averaging about 100 g of protein/day, according to this I should be eating more protein, but I honestly don't know how, while keeping calories also in check I…

Help me understand something - starvation mode
Help me understand this, if I eat 1100 cal/day and I don't exercise (net calories = 1100 cals) MFP "screams" at me that I may go into starvation mode, and blah, blah, blah ..... Yet, if I eat 1300 calories, but I exercise and burn 200 calories (net calories still = 1100 cals) there is no starvation mode message. Aren't…

Plastic surgery has changed my life!
I know this might be controversial, as this site is supposed to be for weight loss without the help of the knife, but plastic surgery has changed my outlook on my life and my body. I am a mom of 2, I breastfed each kid for almost a year, so I always knew after I was done with kids I would get a boob job to get things "back…

Weight fluctuations
Hi, I track my weight daily, always first thing in the morning without clothes. I have noticed that every 7-10 days there is a weight increase, followed by one or two days at that same weight (so its not just a misread) and then my weight finally goes down, probably around the same level as it should be to maintain the…
