As I mentioned, I don't do this while doing lower body. Do you really think running would affect my upper body lifts? I always thought the rest period was to allow that specific muscle to rest between sets. Why are super sets ok, but this idea is somehow not ok? Please explain....

I am posing the same question to everyone here in reverse (which you didn't answer). Why not? Is it negative in some way? My reasons for why are: -To maximize time -Keep a higher HR and burn (for clarification, I don't do this while working legs)

That really sucks man, that is a lot at once. Sorry you're having to go through all that. Maybe use this time off your feet to strength the old brain muscle? Read some more, study up on something, etc? Oh, before I forget, since you asked nicely.....

The best advice I can give is to give yourself time to heal. After mine, the best advice I got was this: Would you give someone a broken gift? No, right? If not, then don't try to give them a broken heart. Let your heart heal before you give it to someone else. Take some time, whether you think you need it or not. You'll…

I give the dog a 9.5, and the human a 8.7! :P edit: oops, someone posted between me! New rating for the person above me: 9!

Well, I don't think your body automatically resets itself at the same time MFP does at the end of each "day". A "day" is a term we use for ourselves to track our time, not something our body overly recognizes (aside from sleep patterns). I think a weekly approach is a good idea, or if you feel more comfortable, let 2-3…

He's one of the few in this thread using any logic at all....mean or not, logic is logic.

Sometimes it's ok to just eat and not worry about it. I mean, watch your portion control, but just enjoy the time with your mom. Track what you can, and just start back up the next day. One high day wont ruin everything.

The original post was posted almost a year ago. How did anyone even find this thread?

Just be sure you eat your BMR, or else your organs will stop working and you might die in your sleep. (if you believe the "eat your BMR" advocates around here) I personally think that there IS a number your organs and body needs to survive, I just don't think it is nearly as high as these BMR calculators on the web say it…

If this is true, which I believe it is, then I strongly believe all of the web based BMR calculators are wrong. It does not take the average person THAT many calories to stay alive. There is some kind of disconnect between BMR calculators and what it actually takes to merely sustain life. (implying you will starting dying…

I have bad shoulder joints from years of swimming, so I dislike most pressing exercises. Especially a basic military press. I also don't overly care for lunges, since it makes my knees ache from going down so deep.

Yea, the one under cardio is pretty accurate. Unless you're doing some sort of combination cardio/lifting. Standard weight lifting doesn't burn a ton of calories like normal cardio. That's why you gotta do them both.

Under 1000 calories? That is just asinine.

I kinda find your post and your attitude towards your spouse a bit insulting. Why do you feel the need to jump on him just because he has had success? Has he done anything to inhibit your success? You are upset he is still logging? Have you ever thought that the reason some people STAY in shape is because they continue to…

Sabine_Stroeh - Can you help me find how or where to plug in the Fat2Fit numbers into MFP? I tried to do the Custom thing on Fitness Goals, but nothing there seemed to make any logical sense. FYI....Fat2Fitness is telling me that I need 2591 calories at Lightly Active to reach my goal weight. MFP on the other hand is…
