this seems weird, 17k steps should give you much more calories burned than 10k steps, whether the walking was strenous or not. Something isn't right.
-
it sounds like you also probably don't have negative calorie adjustments enabled. In my opinion, you should turn that on. Otherwise, you could be eating more calories than you should. In my case, I'm usually below sedentary - and fitbit subtracts somewhere between 100 and 120 calories per day from what MFP gives me. I…

my "cheat days" are planned. I don't just decide one day that I'm not going to count calories. we go out to dinner once a week, on Fridays, so I know that every friday night I'm going to eat a meal that I can't count calories for. Sometimes, I do order a burger and fries or chicken parm. Other times I try to keep it…

If that 1600 was given to you by MFP then you should eat back at least some of those exercise calories - because keep in mind, that number isn't 100% accurate. Think of it this way, if you're supposed to eat 1600 but then you burn 400 extra with exercise, you've only really netted 1200 calories for the day. So not only are…

I completely agree, I feel the OP is just giving excuse after excuse of why "its so harrrrddddd". Stop whining and just do it. It's not that hard to remember to defrost your chicken the night before. Put a note on the fridge. I've been doing it for 20 years. Really, its not an excuse. It sounds like you are just being lazy…

Thawing chicken doesn't take any time out of your life. Pull it out of the freezer the night before you want to use it and stick it in the fridge. As far as cutting veggies, I'm not sure what veggies you are using that you need to cut so many of, aside from maybe peppers or onions? I cook a lot of roasted string beans &…

Ignoring whatever you think your BMR is, if your fitbit is saying you burn around 2000 calories in a day and you think you are eating 1500 per day, that is a 500 calorie deficit per day which SHOULD equal 1 pound per week weight loss. You've only lost half of that which could be caused by either a) You aren't burning as…

what are your stats? TDEE of 2638 sounds high to me but I guess it depends on your stats and the activity level you are choosing. My TDEE is around 1800 at sedentary.
-
I can vouch for this too. I am LOWER than sedentary belive it or not. I have mine set to sedentary and on an average work day, I burn 120 calories less than "expected" at that level for me. I'm lucky if I get over 2500 steps in an average work day. So for me, Sedentary is even too high. That being said, I burn about 1800…

I am obsessed with watching this show.. even though it usually drives me crazy, especially the people who are in such denial and refuse to listen to the doctor. And the enablers, they make me sick, the fact that they are literally killing their loved one by buying they fast food, etc. Just tell them no, what is the worst…

same here, I'm lucky if I hit 3000 steps on a non workout day. Small office, no stairs, one bathroom, nowhere to walk outside or nearby (its on a highway). I sit at my desk all day long at work, and walk to the bathroom a few times. Very difficult to get in extra steps, especially in the winter when I can't be outside…

thanks I had no idea, i've been weighing everything in ounces. The scale does weigh grams but I never understood the point because we don't really use grams in the US.
-
Yes I just googled it and was going to say the same thing.. my husband has a combination of both obstructive and central.
-
My husband as sleep apnea, as far as I know, it is neurological.
-
I've fluctuated 8 to 10 pounds day to day, depending on what I ate, sodium, time of month, exercise, etc. Just weigh once per week at the same time every time.
-
just wondering, is there a reason everyone says to weigh in grams and not ounces? To me, ounces just makes more sense.. does it matter?
-
sorry, that confused me even more now. Maybe I"ll just stop eating potatoes, seems easier than all of this. I weigh my potato after it is cooked, because it weighs less and therefore the weight I am getting is the actual Potato I will be eating minus the water. So how where do I get a calculation from for the cooked…

There are no entries in the database for a Yukon Gold potato that weren't entered by someone. Yea there are entries for just a regular old potato, but different potatoes have different numbers and I want to be as accurate as possible with my food entries. I'm also not eating raw potatoes.
-
interesting, that's actually the exact nutrients that the entry I'm using has listed. The only other issue is the entry doesn't give an option to enter how many grams or ounces your potato is.. I guess I'll have to create my own entry. Just find it odd, its not exactly a rare food. You'd think it would be in the database.

my BMR is 1474. If I multiply that by 1.2 (i'm very sedentary as well), that gives me 1768 calories. I wear a fitbit and my average daily burn (on non exercise days) is between 1700 and 1800. So there's no way I could ever lose weight at this number, I'd be eating over the number of calories that I burn.
-
your fitbit is ideally supposed to be giving you the TDEE number, isn't it????
-
A) 2 Tbsp of oil is A LOT to use for 1 egg b) Why use it at all? Spray the pan with a mister, and use a nonstick pan.

2 weeks is not a plateau

Mine has been working now for awhile again, But, this doesn't always fix it. I had tried this at least 20 times last week, it doesn't always work. When something is broke on the server side, nothing we do is going to fix it permanently, it will just keep breaking until they fix their side.
-
yea, one that happens way too often. Obviously, whatever they are doing to fix this every time it happens, isn't fixing it permanently.
-
This fixes it once, not permanently. It does not continue to sync on its own after doing this.
-
yeah.. there have been a bunch of multi day outages in the last 6 months.
-
Black now says 1 to 2 weeks in Fitbit Store. And Bestbuy is Sold out.
-
If you have your activity level on MFP set way too low or way too high, compared to what you actually burn in a usual day, you will also get drastic differences.
-
if I'm doing an exercise that I know I'm going to override fitbits calories for, I just set the activity timer on my fitbit, so I get an exact start and stop time. Then I enter the activity on MFP for those exact times and delete the activity on the fitbit side.
