Thanks so much for the info!!!

Thank you so much, your response was very helpful! I don't understand what you mean though ... Jawbone bought it, and they're not willing to fix it if it breaks?

Are midwives also dieticians? I'd be skeptical taking nutritional advice from a midwife, but then again I really don't know the extent of their training...

When I PMS I let myself eat at maintenance if I feel that I need to. It's not worth the stress and anxiety for me to have to worry about staying at a deficit. Letting myself eat at maintenance is much easier on my mind. I feel less bad about it if I make those allowances for myself.

I'm also PMSing, I should add. Ha.

ahhhhh gotcha. Online discussion boards are just as bad as text. It's easy to take things out of context.

I guess I was wrong to clarify? It's a crazy world ha ha

What happened was that he didn't understand my question, it seems.

I don't go advertising my weight to my fiancé LOL but I have mentioned to him what it was to him a few times. He thinks I'm hot as hell ALL the time (not even joking.... I think he's nuts)...so I really don't care if he knows what I weigh.

I didn't ask about whether people put themselves in a deficit or not. It was about how they spread out their calories during the day in a way that helps them stay within their calorie goal. ;) Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

I meant when it comes to dealing with being overly hungry and cravings. People do different things to manage them. And not all things work for everybody. What I'm saying is, I think that if I eat too little in the mornings, I want to eat more at night to the point that it puts me at risk of wanting to over eat. When it…

Thanks for your responses. It's interesting to see how different things work for different people.

LOL this low-fat for weight loss idea dates back to the 80s. It's been known for a while that a high-fat diet doesn't necessarily make you fat. If anything, it helps satisfy your appetite. And yes, certain fats are healthy.

Thanks for posting this, I had the same question!

My obstetrician was constantly on my case for gaining too much weight while I was pregnant. I gained 45 pounds total. Funny that I would bet my right arm that her BMI was in the obese category. Lol.

If you think about it, regular PCPs are just doctors of medicine. Write a script. High blood pressure? Take this pill. Strep throat? Take this antibiotic. It's really a shame. Personally, I believe that many diseases can be prevented and even cured with food (e.g. plants, herbs, etc.).

I have a 4 month old and on probably 4/7 days I make oatmeal w/ eggs over easy. Takes 5-7 mins to make, literally.

I second the question about whether you have a history of eating disorders... Or distorted eating...

Use the ingredients that she uses to make her dinners, and make the same thing that she makes, but cook it differently and more healthfully or measure your food. She may be controlling but can she really control what you eat and how much and whether you weigh yourself? Is she going to tell you not to do it and are you…

Google, MFP, and my food scale.

I def don't have it in me to do that haha I rarely go out to eat, so when I actually DO, I want to enjoy the lack of having to weigh. I do try to mentally calculate what I'm eating, but w/ restaurant food that doesn't have nutritional info available, it's EASY to overestimate calories by the hundreds if you don't get your…

That doesn't really work for me. I'd have to only cut 50-100 extra cals/day if I wanted some leftovers for a splurge or cheat on a Saturday or something.... If I cut more than that I'd feel too hungry & put myself at risk of going over my cals.

2 eggs over easy in top of plain oatmeal w/ cinnamon. EXCELLENT at keeping me full for some time!

There are physical therapists and personal trainers who specialize in injury... Maybe you should look into that?
