7 lbs / 5 wks = 1.4 lbs per week x 52 wks = 72.8 lbs lost in a year. You WILL be a whole new person and you will have built new, healthier, sustainable habits. I second PSULemon - start strength training now; hard and heavy. That's how I did it. I only average 5 pounds per month and at the end of a year I was amazed at how…

Not 50% of your muscle mass will be lost ... 50% of the amount you lose will be muscle mass (according to the wikipedia paragraph above.)

Any more thoughts? Headed to work out with my trainer, so I will for sure discuss this with him also.

Thanks for the compliment and the link! It was very informative!

I was at 254 in Jan 2008 - 165 in July 2009. Maintained that until January 2013 but changed shape got smaller. I've lost the last 15ish in the last 6 months. It could be just loose skin that won't go away, I guess. I have worked with a personal trainer since March of 2008 to the present. I will definitely be picking his…

I know I can't target fat loss but I was more thinking that if I built up my legs and butt more it would look better? So eat at maintenance or surplus? and that is me ... thanks!:blushing: I am very lean above the waist but I think all 15.9% is in my butt!!!

I just threw a whole jar in the trash ... it was nasty.

Where do you buy unicorns and fairies ... and how do you cook them?

^^^ yeah ... what he said! Sorry ... didn't read all the way to the bottom of the thread before responding!

In the morning you are more dehydrated (hopefully) than during the day when you are actively drinking water. The fat percentage goes down the more hydrated you are. My scale also measures water percentage and I can be anywhere from 25% BF if my water percentage is over 50% to 33% BF in the morning when my water percentage…

Take an extra walk after dinner ... More importantly though, try to learn from it. WHY did you splurge yesterday? Did you feel deprived the other 4 days? Cutting sugar cold turkey? Over tired maybe causing carb/sugar cravings? Figure it out and make that splurge day into a positive learning process.

Oh ... and that pose was all for him ... he would forever try to get me to flex in the mirror at the gym and I wouldn't. My trainer moved after 90 pounds and 3.5 years of working with him. I found another one that I like just as much but differently who helped me get back on track to lose the 15 pounds (4 more to go!)…

Best thing I ever did was hire a trainer. I would never have lost 101 pounds without him. He denies that and says that it was all me but I know I would not have stuck with it and/or worked as hard without him. Money well spent.

Not silly at all. If it freaks you out ... don't do it. Take good measurements and track that way. If you are eating healthy food in the right amounts and getting some exercise everything else will fall into place!

Best money I've ever spent: 4+ years of sessions with a trainer. Most recently though - my Fitbit. It has helped me get the last 10 or so pounds off.

There are several companies that make "0mm heel drop" shoes that don't have the toes. I have a pair of Merrell barefoot shoes - not sure of the model but Vibram makes the sole for them but without the toes. I love them.

Yes.

Looks ok ... there are no carbs or sugar listed for the peaches - I am sure they are pretty significant numbers. I would up the protein content also.
-
Ummmm ... if you look at them sideways they look like a vajayjay. Maybe that's the appeal?

We *poof* Farts are funny. Always.

As they said ...whatever works for you. Eating 5 small meals made losing weight easier for me because by the time I got hungry it was time to eat again! I didn't think about food constantly.

I love my Fitbit but ... It is NOT a heart rate monitor. I wish it had that capability!
