HA HA HA... both good ones. For me, it is when you get that patient who is genuinely appreciative, because you did something to make him/her feel better, have a better outlook on their condition, or even just smile. (Shhhhhhh, don't tell anyone at my job, but I'm a BIT of a softee :blushing: )

I agree with seeing your doctor. There are certain medical conditions (congestive heart failure) that will have you limiting your fluids also. Also as mentioned before, leg swelling can be a sign of a clot. Question is the swollen leg painful, dark in color or anything else different from when you previously had the issue?…

I've been in nursing for what seems like forever, (considering my age, lol). I did the nursing assistant program in HS, then went straight into the BSN program for college. I've been working at my current job since 2005.

For me I have a pretty good energy supply, so I can usually head to the gym right after my 12 hour night shift... But oh man, I'm going to punch my coworker in the gut if he doesn't stop bringing in sour patch kids & mini powdered donuts. I can usually restrict myself for the first 4 hours, but after that I'm a goner.…

Take the steps, walk around, try not to eat a bunch of junk, and head to the gym after work. That's my usual routine... Though hard to skip the junk food.

Do you eat back exercise calories? Also, what are you eating? I'm sure you can successfully cut out some more pounds, but having dedication & doing the RIGHT way will get you there. Hi. I'm a 12 hour night shift RN. Feel free to add. I have good eating days & not so good eating days, but I've just about accomplished my goals. You can do it too.

Your story really touched me, because it reminded me of my dad's story. (He's the reason I joined MFP to begin with, so he wouldn't be doing this "alone".) Please don't give up. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. We believe in you, so you have to believe in yourself. Good luck & congratulations on taking the…
