Not really a "harder on yourself" tactic, but I have a picture plastered to my fridge right above the door handle -- "Yesterday you said tomorrow" It seems to help when I start losing focus on what I'm trying to do for myself.

Working on two half sleeves for my arms (right now they're just shoulder pieces), a big one on my thigh and ones on my hip, ankle and top of my foot. I plan to finish my foot and do the other one too.

truth! the longer you've had the weight there, the longer it will take to get it off.

Teaching myself to run and making delicious food you'd never think was good for you!

I'm sure if you rinse/thaw them out first you could certainly use frozen. The baking method is delicious, even if it does make your house smell all farty. :) I still really enjoyed my no-bake "ceasar salad" recipe I tried with them last night, and it keeps well overnight...had some more for lunch!

      It's not sex if it's in the pooper! and it's not gay if the balls don't touch, right?

Just found a fantastic springy-fresh brussels sprouts recipe that I tried last night. Pretty tasty! http://www.brooklynsupper.net/2010/03/brussels-sprouts-with-lemon-and/ Cool, crisp, and reminiscent of a ceasar salad....only tons fewer calories. I'm thinking it would also taste nice with some chopped hard boiled…

bumpity bumpity bump! (no, not *that* way)

I don't know many women that DON'T enjoy downtown trips!

Does anyone else think of dogs saying "hello" with this? I mean, sure there's some room for a man being a little...er, primal...but that's really only a step above panty theiving/sniffing, don't you think? :noway: Best way to start my morning though...the post AND responses are priceless!

I haven't planned out any races so far this year. Had a coworker ask me to train for a half marathon with her though, for April 2013. Is that considered upcoming? I should probably start looking for some if I want to train for that.....

Thanks all! Keep the ideas coming! Sidenote: Is it just me, or do batches of brussel sprouts, broccoli and cauliflower all smell a little like fart? :-/ Hate the smell, love the veggies though!

Oh snap. Found my new best friend today.

Thanks! I do treadmill runs/intervals three times a week, sometimes four. Lately I've been working for speed so the distance hasn't been a concern and I'm usually sitting at around 2.5 mi after the sprint intervals. I will keep working on longer distances! Also: I'm aware that treadmills are definitely NOT the same as…

Didn't realize it was a trendy phrase. It's just something I've heard for years in the Midwest.

No need for snark, just a difference in opinion. JUST SAYIN'.

My hair and mouth. Everything else has it's place, but my thick, soft locks and pouty lips are KILL-ER.

I pretty much second this opinion. Sure, the dame obviously needs an attitude adjustment, but who is to say she's not any less insecure as ANY ONE person here? I understand rants, but really? A bit backwards to tear apart socially dysfunctional people when I'm sure that's what a number of us are here on MFP for in the…

A coworker (who regularly runs long distance races) just last week invited me to train for a halfer in April of 2013. I've only ever walked/ran two 5ks, so it should be interesting to see if I can train effectively for it. Any tips? I'm a novice. :D

Can't wait to have my own After pictures! Good job, kids! Keep these coming! :drinker:

I've got good shoes (Mizunos, for my overpronating feet - love them), and I'm always sure to stretch. Didn't have this issue last year when I started running, but this spring seems to be a different story. What's the average mileage on a shoe before it's ready to be replaced?

I started out taking residential routes to ease into being seen jogging along with all my fluff. Now, I own the street when I'm out. And my favorite thing? Out-pacing or out-running someone who *looks* smaller and more fit than I do. Just 'cause you're tiny doesn't mean you're in shape! Besides, bigger people out running…

I wish I could wear them more, but with a 5'10" fiance and me being 5'8", he has.....issues.... with my height in heels. Some days I just tell him to suck it up and deal, because I loooooove them. But damn, do you know how hard it is to find a cute, NICE heel in a size 11? The last time I googled "size 11 heels", I got…

That's awesome! Some people would consider just the 1/2 mile a NSV! That being said, you gotta love that people notice your hard work. Kudos to you for lookin' fiiine at the park!

I'm a big fan of circuit training with free weights. I like weight machines well enough, but I really feel like I've pushed my body more, even with just dumbbells, and ESPECIALLY when I circuit train. There is definitely a burn when you do a couple sets of one move and immediately move on to another, and you get your heart…

Look at youuu! So inspiring! You started at where I'm pretty much at, so it's lovely to see that it IS indeed possible if you want it bad enough. Awesome job!

I don't put a ton of thought into how I look at the gym, but I do know that if I at least feel comfortable in what I'm wearing (like, I could go to the store after and not feel ridiculous), I tend to be more confident about what I can do. It's a weird mindset thing, and I kinda understand why some people primp first, but…

Oh hell...... *fishes around for steak in the fridge* Yeap, looks like he's getting porkchops or chicken. So does that mean since there's no steak/tubesteak we get porkchops/porked tonight at our house? :ohwell:
