  • Pre - Christmas I took a tin of popular assorted chocolates into work and when I opened them there were only three of us in the office, me my boss and her secretary. I offered her one and she promptly sneezed all over them and it didn't phase her at all. Safe to say I'll never touch office snacks again! (In the interests…
  • Let me start by saying, congratulations to you! Do you realise how much weight you've lost?! In 10 weeks? Wow, go you! An entire stone and 16.5"! People like me only wish we could stop fluffing around and get into gear like you! Imagine what you can do in another 10 weeks! How much your life will change if you have two…
  • Hey I'm off on a cruise next Saturday so know how you are feeling, and I'm off to Mexico too! As someone else said, I've come to terms with the fact that I'm travelling for the experience, not the food (although you can't get anywhere near as good tasting food here in the UK as Mexico and the US!). So I'm going to try and…
  • I've used Warbutons Sandwich Thins as a bun before, but I often just use brown bread cakes (which don't seem to have as much sugar in as many in the USA. For Turkey burgers I've used the following with success, although always throw in some Worcestershire sauce:…
  • If you're 'penny pinching' as we call it here in the UK- tightening the purse strings a bit- then you'd choose the non sugary option over the sugary option with less tax ergo costing you less money. It moves you to make a better choice. I don't see that penalising a demographic. I think its a smart move. One that may make…
  • I'm British, and I think it's a great idea. Our kids are fat. There is a town in my county where around half of the kids are obese! Half of them. They're all wandering into town on their lunch buying sugary drinks like cola, fanta and sprite and not even knowing whats going into their body. We have a sugar smart app as…
  • Beef strips, broccoli, garlic, oyster sauce (mixed with 125ml water). Fry that up, boil off the water a bit until sticky, chow it down :D
  • I use it on my nose when I have a cold or the flu. Works brilliantly.
  • I travel a lot and agree its an absolute nightmare thinking about diet and fitness whilst travelling! Saying that you seem to have got your planning ready. Just remember that foods you eat may be a little more salty than you usually have at home as well, so even if you come back with your calories having been fairly…
  • I see these things a lot, particularly on women on Instagram showing them off over their physique. In fact the link you mentioned is the one particularly peddled by people such as the Kardashian family. They aren't gonna make the difference you want, and I doubt they'll give you the feeling of reward you seek. It's a…
  • I think Oprah has 12 million dollars worth of reasons to say she 'loves bread'.
  • I've had several fitbit flexs' and they aren't waterproof. They originally marketed them as so, but then changed this to water resistant on the website. They all ended up dead eventually and fitbit used to be good with swapping them, now they basically said there was nothing they could do. Oddly, I travel a lot, and they…
  • Diet mixer and something strong like whisky, vodka, gin or cognac (but those hangovers are the worst). You could try and grab yourself a bottle of Icelandic Brennivin. It will also have the added bonus of you never wanting to drink ever again the next morning. We don't really have diet beers here in the UK like all the…
  • I eat lower carb because I have PCOS therefore my Consultant recommended it. I would only say if a medical issue caused it to do it, because I am a firm believe in CICO for weight loss. I love carbs. It makes me absolutely miserable, but the weight drops off I guess. I think thats really due to less calories though.
  • I've seen him online (he has a large following on social media) I'm not sure where you are from in the world but he's a really big new personality in fitness over here and his book became an instant bestseller. I have the book purely for the low carb recipes and they're pretty good. From what I have seen of people who have…
  • I concur with whoever has said freezing. Freezing has come on leaps and bounds since the days of old since everything was pumped with water and tasted like cardboard. You can check packets and often will find no added water meat and fish in better produce- higher end stores tend to have these (in the UK thinking Waitress,…
  • Ours is pretty usual stuff. What surprised me was our local supermarket. In the days after new year usual foods I get are so hard to get hold of (£1 bags of stir fry vegetables, lean meats, cottage cheese) but this year they had yellow labelled and reduced them all because they'd put them out and there was no demand! Good…
  • I'm from Yorkshire and never in my entire life have I heard the scallop 'scone'. Nor has my family, or google?
  • How do you know that this woman hasn't tried hard to lose the weight before? That she doesn't sit reading these forums like other people? Working in the legal profession, if I wrote something along those lines about one of my clients I'd be disbarred. I could even be jailed. Working in the legal profession, if I was that…
  • My mother adds it to her vegetarian spaghetti bolognese made with quorn (but I suppose you could use real meat). Chopped up small it gets lost between the other vegetables so you don't really taste it so much (I hate celery).
  • Is it a particular brand you are using? How are you storing them? & are they falling apart before or after heating? Have you considered making and freezing your own, I have had some success with a similar recipe to this http://localkitchenblog.com/2011/06/15c/whole-wheat-flour-tortillas/
  • This happens to me a lot! Sometimes it ends up showing up on recipes on the App though when I open that even if it has said error?
  • A 'tip' of a kind- I always find grating your onions makes your curries have a lovely, thick sauce (I usually stick some normal chopped ones in too as I'm a total onion freak) especially when making a dupiaza.
  • There were some vouchers floating about on websites such as Groupon for big packs of meat the other day too.
  • http://shows.stv.tv/this-morning/food/319575-phil-vickerys-gluten-free-banana-split-muffins/ This recipe was here on TV in the UK the other morning. It looked amazing. You might not be able to see the video based on where you are but there is the recipe underneath.
  • I graduated c25k and will second this as well. It is honestly a brilliant programme. If you bore easily you can also use apps or music to help you (I am a huge fan of the 'Zombies, Run!' application that was recommended by a lot of people on MFP). Then, if you wish, there is a 10k running programme afterwards.
  • Chilli pistachio nuts? We can buy the extra hot ones here and I love pistachio nuts but I'd never be able to eat more than a handful in one go.
  • As above, scrambled eggs, soups, mashed potatoes with cheese mixed in (actually I used a potato ricer for mine to get rid of any lumps at all), anything liquid-y. It's amazing what you will put in a ricer when you're hungry  Also, mashed avocado and scrambled eggs became a go to for me (I had all 4 out…
  • I do anything that keeps me out of the kitchen. Generally jogging because I get hangry.
  • http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1940689/beef-and-vegetable-casserole- This yields tons and is easy to make by throwing in the oven. It makes the softest beef ever by following the cooking time at low temperature (probably adaptable for a slow cooker). I usually just throw in whatever veg I have handy or one of the…
