There definitely isn't a "normal" when it comes to weight loss. :) I think I lost about 30 pounds the first few weeks after surgery. Then I had a three week stall of NO weight loss that started week 3. However, it picked up again. :) Just keep following YOUR doctor's plan and it will definitely come off. I say "your"…

The only thing I think that I'd have changed when I was growing up was that I wish I'd been introduced to vegetables. :) We rarely ever had vegetables with meals (or ever). If we DID, it would be corn in the tatertot hotdish or perhaps onions and celery in a hotdish. Well, we'd have potatoes in some for or another (baked,…

Are any of your friends following their diet plan completely? If so, I'd pick to go with that friend so that you are getting the most out of your local support circle. I think for the most part, all plans are teaching the same thing (less calories in = weight loss) but having someone in your corner makes all the…

1. The Fitbit syncs with their website for calories burned. Log your exercise in MFP. The Fitbit will make adjustments to the calorie burn throughout the day. MFP's calorie burn is sort of an "assumed" burn whereas the Fitbit is closer to the actual burn. 2. Log your food on MFP. 3. See #2 4. LOVE IT!! 5. None, other than…

I sometimes have balance issues while walking on a treadmill. I've found that if I am watching a television show, I am able to walk without using the hand rails as much - although I do still sometimes need to "rebalance" by touching the rail. :)

One thing to try when it comes to food - stop when you are satisfied, not FULL. Also, don't wait until you are famished to eat. Weighing my food has given me the best option for portion control. I am not a good estimator when it comes to how much food I actually eat. It's also too easy STUFF food into a measuring cup to…

Just do it. Log those 8 donuts and get back on the horse NOW. (Don't excuse the rest of the day as a "free for all" with food.)
-
Nope!! You just click on the Apps tab at the top and sync your MFP to your Fitbit account. :)

I have the Fitbit Flex and I find that it does motivate me. I set alarms to buzz at 10 am and 2:30 pm. At my former job, when it vibrated, a coworker and I would go for a 1/2 mile walk down a long hallway. (I'm still trying to figure out how to incorporate an indoor walk at my new job.) I'm looking forward to SPRING so I…

Definitely focus on form. I dropped my kettlebell yesterday because I was trying to keep up. The good news is that my little dogs were still in bed with the hubs and I was on carpet -- and the kettlebell was close to the floor. I decided to not do quarter turn lunges and passing the kettlebell behind the leg. I just did…

PS. My answer is assuming that you've linked your Fitbit account with MFP. :)

Yep, you can still log your activity here on MFP. Technically, you will only "earn" the exercise calories that the Flex gives you. So... let's say the Fitbit shows that you burned 182 calories. When you log your exercise, and perhaps it totals 200 calories burned, you will only get the 182 calories. An adjustment will be…

Ha... I lied about my weight too. Now I'm 50 pounds less than the fibbed number. :)

I had two peppermint/white chocolate kisses today. :) They MADE my day.

Also, you mentioned a few weeks. Some women gain/retain water before their period hits.

When I am fully clothed, nothing. :) I've never liked my upper arms - which after losing a lot of weight, I don't particularly care to wear sleeves shorter than 3/4 length. Hmmm... my upper thighs seem to be a good hang out for loose skin as well as that little tire above the bellybutton. I know it's just skin though, so..…

If you do a search on Amazon for a small digital scale, they have several that are pocket-sized and under $10. I have a tiny little scale that I keep in my office desk drawer. It's probably about the size of a square mirror compact. (What's odd, though, is I know I paid 10 cents for it, but I can't remember WHERE I got…

Kettlenetics is great - uses a kettlebell. (Well it also COMES with the kb.) If you get bored easily, try having other DVDs available as well. Leslie Sansone is a good low impact indoor walking exercise. I like that you can start out with the 1-mile and then work your way up to 2- or 3-mile. Even the Richard Simmons DVDs…

100% You should go get a professional bra fitting - they will hook you up (pun intended) with a great bra that will make the girls look amazing. :) (I really like the t-shirt bras that Victoria's Secret has - they fit and look great!)

I've found that during my journey, I have bought smaller sizes with the hope to fit into them... but I slid right past them!! Now THAT is a waste of money. (For a good reason, anyhow.) I donated them to a local thrift store.

My mom keeps asking me when I will stop losing weight. I told her that I haven't hit my goal yet. Kind of funny though, I gave my dad a pair of my pants (men's jeans that I had gotten from a friend) that were now too big. Well, the jeans never really DID fit me right as I definitely have hips and a waist - I'm not built…

Turkey breast, mashed potatoes, corn, stuffing, and green bean casserole!!!!! :)

Well, I WAS keeping it under wraps but people noticed the weight loss. ;-)

Take a look at the women in your family. Do they have similar body shapes? If so, chances are you may not be able to slim down certain body shapes. (Unless they are all overweight, so this might just be a similar trait for holding onto body fat.) In my family, we are almost all pear shaped. However, that being said,…

I started out with a Fitbit Ultra and liked it. Then I forgot to use it a few times, etc. I decided to move on to a BodyMedia. Love it! For the most part it was hidden by my clothes, but I didn't like that it showed when wearing a light weight top. Once the free six month subscription ended, I decided to switch to the…

I started out with a Fitbit Ultra and liked it, but I didn't like the fact that I might forget to clip it on and it would just sit at home. So I moved on to a Bodymedia. While I really like the information that I get from it, I don't like having to wear it around my upper arm. I did wear it for the length of the included…

I love the Green Mountain Caramel and Vanilla K-cups! I add a little stevia and a splash of skim milk. You can also use sugar free vanilla and sugar free caramel syrups for coffee if you need more flavor.

My first tattoo was on my upper thigh and it barely hurt. Think of a cat's claw scratching in the same spot over and over. I FELT it, but it wasn't bad. Then a couple of years later, I got a bigger colorful butterfly on the back of my ankle. OMG. My leg was twitching on its own. The artist was soooo good. I don't know HOW…

Don't forget to check out the "Groups"... Click on Community. Then in the dark blue band below that, click Groups. You can search for the type of surgery that you had. VSGers is one of the groups. :) After you search, click the group name and then click Join Group. That's it!!

I also vote for seeing a doctor. If anything, go to a walk-in clinic.
