Sooo what did you decide on!? The other difference between the polar ft 4 and 7 is that the 7 shows you whether you were burning fat or increasing fitness (based on cardiovascular performance).

I give my self a cheat day once every two weeks... it usually consists of me eating more caloric foods, treat foods throughout the day, but also keeping in mind I weigh in the following monday so I'll have consequences if I over do it or can't control myself... most of my cheat/treat days tend to coinside with a pay day...…

I have the FT7 I bought it when I weighed over 220, I am also 5, 7"... it fits just fine, it was snug at first, but not uncomfortable! (Also if you find it too snug polar also sells chest strap extensions) Also I reccomned the FT7 because it takes your heart rate and calories, you can also choose to display heart rate or…

What do you considser to be fairly new? I've been going to spin for 2 years now, hitting body pump for over a year, I work out 3-4 times a week, although I will admit over the past two years that hasn't been awfully consistent... I have "down times"

Feel free to add me, I'm always looking for active friends!

My dairy is always packed! I stay within my calories, but I log each invidual ingrediet! Also, I snack throughout the day... I also have this need that all my meals have to have 1. Whole grains 2. Fruit or Veg 3. Some kind of protien (whether its through dairy, meat, or soy) ... I look at people's dinner and it says like "…

I love talking about what I snack on haha... If you like veggies and dip, try a yogurt based dressing! Trader joes sells a delicious greek yogurt dip with chives and spinach, it's very tasty, and i think 45 cal per serving! Also Bolthouse has a good yogurt ranch dip as well. You can also snack on : Cheese sticks, yogurt -…

I recommend an HRM to everyone! I think a lot of people who start MFP don't under stand why they are stalled and not losing weight, it's becuase it over estimates what you've been burning!! I used to think I was burning over 1000 calories in a spin class becuase that's what MFP told me, it wasn't until I got my Polar FT7…

Can everyone stop responding to these two people (the original poster and the person who posted after) they are looking for flaws in whatever you post in order to prove themselves right... if they want to eat under what their body needs let them. It doesn't matter what info you give them, they are dead set on proving their…

Thanks for the answers! I have noticed the classes have gotten easier for me, I can push through much harder resistance now, with a pretty decent speed. I guess I need to stop focusing so much on numbers !

I agree with everyone ! I was never a big tea person, but absolutely love it now and include it with my breakfast on most days! I'm partial to bigelow " Pomegranate Green Tea at breakfast!!" Sometimes a nice mug of "sweet dreams" tea at night! It also doesn't hurt that it has zero calories! And I too love to add two or…

Can I just say something... these lists are BS. They just are. I'm sure that I can find an article online that says that some of these foods are "Fat burning foods" or whatever term they decided to make up for whats "good". Just use common sense, and don't gorge yourself on things full of chemicals, sodium, trans fats etc,…

I have sciatica too! I find that with lower back strengthening exercises like "Supermans", or using the back extension machine it has helped to make my lower back stronger and hurt less...I also don't feel that pain down my leg anymore. I have also found spine twists to be helpful, seated, or laying down... Also standing…

Look for brands with two ingredients: Peanuts, salt or just peanuts... Look at the natural brands, and then read the label.... I can't tell you how many brands say "Natural" and have tons of unnessesary ingredients... Remember that for peanut butter all you really need is peanuts! Read the back of your jif jar,…

Just a quick clarification here... soy milk does not contain estrogen that's a myth that has been widely researched...please think of all the food you eat that has soy in it (read the label a lot of it does) I think people freak out about hormones because of all of the stuff being injected into meats... but soy milk does…

A couple years ago I had a conversation with my nutritionist at a fitness resort, they explained that although almond milk is lower in calories many brands don't contain the nutrients needed! A lot of almond milk is made by soaking almonds in water, and that's it... so even though it is mighty tasty and sweet, I go with…

you can friend me, mine is open to friends.

I use stevia, or honey... I don't see the point in using splenda since it's mostly just chemicals, I think stevia is a win win, all natural, zero calories. Honey I use in my yogurt, things that need a little extra sweetness :)

500 is pretty average if you spend an hour at the gym... I burn up to 700+ doing an hour on ellptical, 600+ in an hour spin class, at least 400-500 in an hour of "body pump" (strength training). But it all really depends on how much time you have, and how much you push yourself... of course this is just my opinion I'm not…
