Talk to your doctor and ignore all of these wonderfully blessed people for whom simply cutting calories works. I am working with my doctor because I am in the same boat as you. I spent 6 months journaling EVERYTHING (good/bad/ugly). I worked my way down, gradually, from 1600 to 1200 calories. When that didn't work I…

This is a totally personal decision you should discuss with your healthcare professional. My opinion: I also know a couple of people who did it. We went to lunch; I had a salad, she had a cheeseburger with everything. I'm friends with her on pinterest, and none of her boards include "healthy recipes" everything is cream…

Re: Q4 I haven't been able to afford the gym in years. I walk in my lunches and have a variety of workout videos (from step aerobics, kickboxing, calisthenics, to yoga - which I use when I'm just not feeling like an intense cardio session.) & if you fall off the wagon you get to decide if it's going to be for today ...a…

I am 100% with you. I quit trying at the end of 2012 because while I was 1/2 assing it that winter; in Spring 2012 I got serious. Over the course of spring, summer, and into fall I gradually worked my exercise up to 2 HOURS/day & down to 1200 calories/day and only lost about 9 pounds. I finally went to a doctor bc…

I agree, ever read "1984" by Geroge Orwell. I agree soda has no nutritional value. But there are many, real problems that our government should be addressing. These types of laws (seatbelts for adults, helmet laws, sin tax, laws against suicide, etc) are just interference with Darwinism. It's preventing thinning of the…

I do a mix of both. Usually I know what I'm making for dinner tonight, so I'll plug that in to see what I'm left with the rest of the day, and can work with that. It's actually a good motivator to exercise sometimes. I know I can't skip my workout because of what we're having for dinner/lunch or whatever. :) Otherwise,…

Im not the pinnacle of success as u can see (im actually seeing a doc to figure out why the weight wont budge despite diet/exercise). I DO know a little something about lack of time for exercise! I work FT outside the home, have 2 kids, & go to college at night. :) I have made 3 important changes. I realized that if i…

I take a multi for women daily. Vitamin D (Rx) weekly as I just found out I have a vitamin D deficiency. Surprising since I walk outside sans sunscreen 1 hour day. I give my 4yo flintstones with iron since her last check up revealed she was low in iron. My 2 year old gets gummy vitamins.

Strawberries dipped in low fat choc pudding (Tastes just like a decadent choc covered strawberry), powdered sugar free hot cocoa, or if i have it handy, chocolate. 1 bite. I was eating chocolate every day, so right now i am avoiding to show myself i CAN live without it. :)

A while back i began walking on my lunch. Eventually, i worked up to 4 miles. Then I began doing P90X after work in addition to my 4 mile lunch walks. I tracked my calories. I did this for almost 3 weeks and literally did not lose one flipping ounce!!! I was sooooooo discouraged, and after pulling an ab muscle I took a few…

We have cancelled our cable last week. Its been a little weird at 1st, but good. We have hulu/netflix streaming. But we're really not using it a ton since we cant just sit and blindly flick thru channels. You really have to be intentional with these 2 programs. Cant say how often we couldnt find a darn thing to watch and…
