Has anyone added it to pasta for a variation of mac and cheese? How was it? What else did you add?

I LOVE the cuties too! I usually do cuties and a cheese stick. Soft whole wheat tortilla (warmed) and salsa is good too.

Oh good, at least I know now that it's not my imagination! I thought I remembered getting a spinach salad there with swiss and grilled chicken (in CA), but when I tried to order it here they looked at me like I had 3 heads! So then I started doubting myself, thinking I bought it somewhere else. Thanks for letting me know…

Thanks so much for the recipes! I plan on making those Southwest Black Bean Cakes today. It just so happens I have all the ingredients and I LOVE black beans! Thanks again!

The Subways at my areas don't carry swiss or spinach! What's up with that? At first I thought maybe Subway just doesn't offer swiss or spinach but I could have sworn I bought it in California. Does everyone elses offer these products or am I going crazy? I hear your vent though, I have started to avoid Subway for a while…

Thanks for the compliment...I'll actually be 34 next month! I was wondering what other flavors are there of hummus? Now that I can make my own, I want to experiment with different kinds. The one I made was a spicy roasted red pepper one. I know of the classic or plain one. I seen some one mention lemon dill and roasted…

I haven't tried the ab wheel, but I've tried the ab slide (same concept, just looks different). OMG! I was dying. I can't do it from a regular plank, but I did it with my knees down. It was still hard. I felt it immediately at my upper abs. My son tried it and said it hurt his back. I think it's because you really need to…

Yep!

Poke is raw fish (usually Ahi) cut up and mixed with seaweed and kukui nut relish. I like it, but sometimes I just get poke'd out! UPDATE on my homemade hummus: My 12 year old son ate it today with some whole wheat pitas and LOVED it! I'm so glad I can make it without the tahini!

I know not everyone has the time, but on the weekends I have the time to make everything. I started making my own dressings, soups, breads and ice cream. If I can make it, I do. I make everything on the weekends for the week so during the week I'm good to go. If I don't have the time to make some meals I just prep…

I know nothing about it, but maybe you can find someone over at these boards: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/ Good luck!

Or spam..LOL hitting Spam Jam this weekend in Waikiki...that stuff grosses me out..but I gotta at least experience Spam Jam (basically the Spam festival)!

My husband is stationed out here. I love it but I miss the little things like Trader Joes, Micheals and Joanne Fabric stores, farmers markets, etc.... I guess you can't have everything! I do get to go to the beach everyday though!

Just wanted to update you on my hummus situation...I used the non tahini recipe you gave me and added 3 fresh garlic cloves instead of the powder, about 1/3 cup of roasted red peppers, and about 2 tsp of ground chipolte pepper for more spice. OMG! Yummy! I am eating it for a snack tonight with some pita bread. THANK YOU…
-
Thanks I printed the recipe for the non tahini hummus. I already roasted some bell peppers this morning so I am going to try to make my own spicy red pepper hummus with the recipe. Thanks again!
-
Thanks so much! I can't find tahini here in the regular grocery stores (in Hawaii we are quite low on things other than poi and poke!)...LOL. They just opened a Whole Foods this year but it's a ways from me...I barely get to go there  I miss do miss some REAL food. I really loved Trader Joe's hummus, but alas, no TJ's…

I suggested to pick it out because she said she didn't really like red meat. I love steak stir fry!
-
How do you make your own Tahini? Anybody know? Thanks in advance.
-
How about a stir fry? You can use flank steak and tons of veggies (bell peppers of all colors, onions, broccoli, etc). Then you can pick out the steak and just do the veggies and he can eat the whole thing. It's also a great way to get veggies in and it's quick cooking!

Icandoallthings: That recipe sounds good...I didn't know you can bake it and get the same results as pan frying. I will definitely try that out...maybe adding some finely chopped macadamia nuts to the crust...you know I like them nuts! Thanks for the great idea!

That's awesome! I am trying to get a friend onto this site also. I did her measurements today and we are working out together 5 days a week. She's definitely one of those pounds vs. inches people. I try to explain to her it doesn't matter what the scale says, it's about the inches! I want to prove that to her when I…

I am an emotional eater too...but only when I'm bored. I realized that after 7pm when I'm sitting around watching the prime time shows I just feel the urge to snack! I realized it's because I'm not doing anything. I'm just bored! So I hop on this message board and start reading (and watching tv at the same time) and the…

Another idea: I know it's a little higher in fat (good ones though), but maybe crusting it with some Macadamia nuts...living in Hawaii, they are so abundant here! Topped with Mango/peach salsa is awesome too....they sell it at Costco. It's called Santa Barbara Mango Peach salsa. It adds a sweet tropical taste. Sorry, I was…

I don't know where they got that info from but...Mahimahi is a Hawaiian word that means "strong-strong" for dolphin fish. This species is found in tropical and subtropical waters throughout the world. It's a white fish and holds up well, grilled, fried or baked. I use it for fish tacos. Maybe your hubby will like them. I…

I do CrossFit and we use kettlebells for a few exercises. I love them! I can't do the crazy one arm throw thingy though....

Aloha! I got this one from the Taste of Home Smoothie book. It's great during summer and the kids love it! I like it 'cause it's easy to make with very little ingredients. Watermelon Smoothie 6 cups coarsely chopped seedless watermelon 1 cup lemon sherbet 12 ice cubes Place half of the watermelon in a blender; cover and…

That is such an awesome idea! I'm going to have to use that one! I am HORRIBLE at time, distance, and measurement so when it comes to portioning my food, I am always off. I use a scale and measuring cups all the time. Ziplock has those 1/2 cup containers that I use all the time too. They sell them in 6 or 8 packs, I think.…
