  • Oh, yeah....forgot about the simple sugars in fruit! I love my fruit so it's my go to.
  • I like spicy hummus w/cucumbers or carrots, hard boiled eggs, any fruit with some nuts, or even a small protein shake. Hope this helps getting you started! ☺
  • @NewGemini130 i couldn't figure out how to add friends either! Boo. Y'all feel free to add me. ☺
  • I would love to have some vegan friends on here! I've been coming up with some great recipes and would live to recipe swap with some friends.
  • You look younger with the weight loss! I love your hair too. Keep it up. You look great!
  • Same here! Sending you a friend request. I'd love to share recipes and workouts too. :)
  • OMG! I do the same thing! Walking/running on the treadmill is the only time I get to really watch MY shows! I started on season 1 of Smallville, I am now on season 7. I'm on the treadmill 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week. I weight train 2x a week. You are fine as long as you allow yourself recovery time or active rest…
  • We do meatless mondays once a week for dinner and now I am thinking of adding another day or two. I love the skinnytaste.com website as well. I go to the bookstore and find recipe books that are vegetarian or low carb. I am a cooker/baker though so I love to experiment and create dishes. I know some people just aren't like…
  • Yes, I totally agree! I am 5'4 and a half (gotta add those inches in...LOL) and small framed. When I was at 135 last year I looked horrible! I was into a size 8 (should have been a 10). It's interesting that you are 137.4lbs and at a 4! Human bodies are so weird! All my weight goes straight to my butt and thighs. I love to…
  • Hi all! I just ordered TurboFire today. I am NOT a fan of DVD video workouts, but I really wanted something fun. I almost went with Zumba, but this looked more like my kind of workout. I love kickboxing and dancing so this seemed like the perfect hybrid. For those of you who do it now, is it hard to get the movements down?…
  • I just came across this in my Healthy Cooking magazine yesterday (Dec/Jan 2011 issue). This was the question and answer: Dear Peggy: Do you have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that uses applesauce instead of margarine? I',m trying to cut some of the saturated fat in our diet. Answer: First, I applaud you for trying to…
  • Thanks all! I am going to go with the 50%pro, 30% carb, 20% fats. I was starting to stress about that 5% fat because I eat nuts and avo and EVOO regularly. Thanks again!
  • Tacos, burgers/sliders, chili, meatloaf, meatball subs????
  • Pumpkin smoothie!?!? Yummmm! Can I use Fage for the yogurt or is it too thick?
  • MMMM....kind of sounds like my huevos rancheros! I also used canned Rotel when I'm in a rush and don't want to chop the jalapenos and peppers. I add a little tomato sauce and omit the feta and replace it with shredded cheddar. Thanks for sharing, sounds like a good variation of mine! I'll have to try it one day.
  • Do standing crunches! Use the cable weights at the gym. Pick your weight and grab the both cables with each hand. Face away from the machine (back towards the weights), and hold the cables on top of your shoulders. bend forward from hips up. Bend down and up for each rep. I use the Tower 200 for these but they can be done…
  • Depending on the vegetables, I use the McCormick Gourmet Collection Mediterranean sea salt. It's sea salt with garlic, basil and oregano. Then I add some pepper and extra virgin olive oil. It's awesome with eggplant, tomatoes, and zucchini.
  • I do sedentary also. I don't count my cleaning either. Just working out.
  • I love everything crafty...though I can't crochet or quilt. I wish I could quilt! I just got a cool new sewing machine that has the quilting foot. Guess I need to read up on it. I do cross stitching, scrapbooking, attempt at sewing, jewelry making and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cooking and baking! So good to see there are so many…
  • I'm on my last 5 lbs as well and let me tell you those last 5 are the hardest EVER! I do cardio and weights. You should really incorporate the weights. Also, with that little to lose your food has to be on point! That's what really makes the difference. It's taken me forever just to lose 3 out of the 8lbs I started with (5…
  • I'm the same way! I hardly ever have refined sugar, but when 1 banana is bringing in 12 grams of sugar, I'm way over my count by the end of the day too! I eat fruit all the time. I'd be interested to see what others have to say. Good question!
  • I came across this article in my Clean Eating magazine: Bloat Busters If you're stuggling to zip up your jeans, pick up your fork! According to Jackie Keller, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef and author of Body After Baby (Avery 2007), certain foods banish bloat. For a flatter tummy, Keller recommends adding these to your…
  • I've had mine for years and never used it for shredding cheese yet. The blade is still in it's original plastic! LOL....I always end up using the mandoline or cheese grater for veggies and cheese. I guess I just forget!
  • I make hummus and mix my dough for biscuits, scones, and flatbreads. I also just use it to chop up stuff like onions, jalapenos, bell peppers, etc, when I'm in a hurry and don't want to spend a lot of time cutting. It's also good for soups (roasted tomato soup!...yummm!) I just used mine today to make homemade whole wheat…
  • Awesome! Good for you for not getting discouraged and reverting back to the old, bad ways! Your persistence paid off! Great job!!
  • So funny! We must have been on the same brain wave because I was just about to log off and make my version! It's almost identical to yours but I add fresh oregano, basil and lemon juice! Yummo! Thanks for sharing!
  • I concur! And why is it people feel like they have to say "ignore what I'm eating!" or "Don't say anything about my eating McDonalds" or "I didn't have time to make dinner" or something like that. Like you are all up on their business on what they are eating because you eat healthy. I sometimes feel like others feel guilty…
  • WOW! I never heard of the new pizzas...maybe they didn't hit my area yet.
  • I never had FB...I refused to fall into the hype! LOL...I have MFP and twitter for instantaneous motivation via phone text tweets! I LOVE MFP!
