I am SO glad I don't have to do this! My preop diet is SO doable! As far as shakes go though, I do like to drink them occasionally to ensure I hit my protein requirement. So far I REALLY like the Bariatric Choice ones. I've had orange cream, and chocolate so far. I also like syntrax nectar, cherry, crystal sky and grape.…

Both of you are in Ontario! Cool! My daughter is in Ontario for school. She's at Waterloo university playing ice hockey *GO WARRIORS* Good thing she likes snow! LOL I was there last spring, it was beautiful there! I'm hoping to go again this summer when I take her back to school! Oh, almost forgot...person #3 DID clear me…

What province are you Canadians in? I'm in Canada too! I always love to meet others LOL I'm in BC. I'm doing the West Coast Bariatric program in Richmond. I waited 18 months from referal date until I was actually in the program. Apparently there are ony two bariatric programs in BC, Richmond and Victoria. The Victoria one…

One of the girls in my bariatric program had the band, and she also had it removed. She is now in the program so she can have either the sleeve or RNY. I'm not sure which she is hoping for. Good luck to you! I hope you're not in any pain now.

*Late to the party* I'm in! I totally sucked at the last challenge, and I NEED this one! CW: 250 GW: 240 I am also challenging myself to do 30 minutes of excersise 5 times per week, for a total of 150 minutes per week. I will be upping that as I go.

HUGS! In my program, it's not unusual to have to go back to see psych. Remember it's a healing/learning process. They don't want to do the surgery on you if you're not ready emotionally. They want to be sure you are 100% ready, and fully understand what's going to happen, and what you need to do. Look at it as a positive.…

Awwwww! I miss those days! I know you don't want to hear this but... enjoy it! It will be over so fast and you will wonder where the time has gone! I'm sentimental right now though, because i'm counting down the days until my baby girl comes home from school all the way across the country! She's been gone too long!…

I am preop too! I am in Canada, so my journey will be different as far as time lines. (Insurance isn't an issue, for me, it's getting in) I had my referral sent in from my family doctor in June of 2012. I got a call in December of 2013 (18 months after my referral) from the WLS program. I went for my orientation in January…

I agree with Unjury. I ordered it from the unjury website. It's good. I also like syntrax nectar. You can order samples from nashua nutrition. It's free shipping for orders over $99 in the USA. I'm waiting on my syntrax nectars & syntrax matrix samples right now :) Oh, and yes, Quest bars are yummy! I LOVE the cookie dough…

Congrats on getting your date! It amazes me how fast you guys get in (I'm in Canada, and it feels like it's taking forever!) No real advice on the liquid diet, just keep telling yourself why you're doing it. For me, the thought of my surgery being postponed if I don't stay on the liquid diet, will hopefully keep me…

I'm doing the program in BC right now through West Coast Bariatrics. My surgeon is Dr Nguyen. I waited 18 months to get into the program, and now i'm just waiting for the dietician to sign off for me to meet the surgeon and get my date. I've been signed off by the therapist, and the excersise therapist already. Nothing…

Thanks for that tip! I REALLY need to cut out the coffee. I'm a starbucks girl. I don't drink regular coffee (Yuck, not a fan) but I do drink lattes etc. SO not good for me! Once I cut out the caffiene, i'm sure I can give them up. My nut said I can keep drinking them, she just wants me to cut back to a short, or tall,…

I use syntrax nectar flavoured protein. Haven't tried their unflavoured yet. But I LOVE that it mixes so nicely! No clumps at all. I dump it into my water and it mixes up like juice. I'm assuming the unflavoured is the same. I've also heard good things about Unjury. I've ordered some but i'm still waiting for it to get…

<is getting sleeved! Hopefully this summer as well! I had my psych eval this past week, and they cleared me. Now just waiting for my dietician to clear me. I see her Mar 27 next.

Just wondering how you are feeling now?

I was waitlisted in June of 2012. I waited 19 months until I finally got in to my bariatric program. During that 19 months, I started making changes, because I knew I was going to have to anyway once I got into the program. During that 19 month wait, I didn't say a WORD to my husband! LOL! I was kinda nervous about how he…

I SOOOOOOO needed to hear that today!!! I am in an EAT EAT EAT mood! I want to eat everything and anything! LOL I drove out of my way to pick up pizza for dinner, and stopped and bought a chocolate bar for my snack! UGH! I know I have pms, but it's almost uncontrollable right now. I'm SO frustrated! I did go for a walk to…

Tell her you're having a sex change operation LOL (I know, probably not politically correct, but i'm feeling particularly snarky today lol)

So glad you're done & feeling good! Thanks for the tip about the popscicles! LOL I'm starting my process now, so it might be awhile before I have my surgery. Keep posting your progress! It's very motivating!

THIS I haven't had surgery yet, but I have been making the lifestyle changes that I will need to stick to once ive had it. I have lost weight on my own. People in my life know that I am making these changes, and they are very supportive. They have noticed the weight that I have lost, my surgery won't be for awhile, so i'm…

My response would be "I appreciate your concerns, and I hear what you are saying, but, since I have already made an informed decision, I am not asking for your opinion, I am asking for your support."

Have you had your surgery? Or do you have a date? A good friend of mine started at 326. She lost 40 on her own before her sleeve. She is now 156. Below her personal goal. She is thrilled. It took her just over 1 year to get there. Maybe 14 months? I havent had my surgery yet, but I started at 286. I am currently 154 (I…

Add me! I like friends! :) I'm just starting out, my first appt is Jan 15. I think it's for a bariatric orientation. So i'm thinking it's more of an info session before I start the actual process. Although, I was given a journal/diary (via email) on Dec 17, that I was to start and bring with me on Jan 15. I waited 18…

I am in Canada and I go for my first visit on Wed Jan 15 after waiting 18 months to get that call. I don't know how long it will be for me, but a good friend of mine had the sleeve done, and she said she went for her first visit in May, and had her surgery 11 months later in April. So I am expecting it will be about a year…
