I wasn't one that said it, but I have thought it before when I finished a workout. It's probably more about knowing your own body. I don't sweat a lot. I especially don't sweat a lot when I'm working out in an air conditioned room. I do during T25 because I'm working my butt off - more so than I do in most other workout…

Proof? Or simply baseless conjecture? [/quote] You seriously need proof that a steady consumption of fast food and total crap eating is/was a contributing factor to my dad's obesity, or my mom's heart attack and stroke before age 50? I forgot about the Type II diabetes she was dx'd with while in the hospital after the…

It's truly a crazy phenomenon, isn't it? There's so much defiance from those that eat junk food and lose weight, that those of us that try to eat healthy (most of the time) are doing something 'wrong.' Yes, my thyroid is fine. Yes, I understand that calorie deficit is king, and I can get that eating cheeseburgers and pizza…

So you're dedicated if you have a cheat day a few times a year, but I'm not dedicated if I have 1 cheat meal a week? How...self-righteous of you. Today's my cheat meal day. I had a 440 calorie cookie on top of my 660 calorie lunch. I'm already in the red for the day, and I haven't had dinner yet. 1500 calories doesn't go…

I allow myself what I call a 'cheat meal' - usually on weight in day (well, that night). It's not really cheating but a 'cheat meal' is easier to say/type than "I overindulge above my calorie goal and don't feel any guilt about it, by having a meal that I wouldnt' typically eat on a regular day." I get that this is a…

Some of the things I do: - have a good, but healthy breakfast: eggs, sometimes a little bacon, fruit or Starbucks Oatmeal, with 1/2 a cut up banana and the package of 100 calorie nuts (leave out the sugar, the banana sweetens it!) - For dinner, no more than 1 glass of wine - Keep it simple: grilled fish, or grilled…

Why would it not increase the calories? Isn't there around 130 calories in 1 ounce of chia seeds?

While I understand some of the responses have been 'harsh' in your view, you've also received a lot of valuable advice. In addition, please keep in mind that most of us have been where you are at some point - making excuses rather than changes. So we come from a place of knowledge, not of disrespect. The fact is, you've…

I hate to even give up my 'secret' but they have knock off LuLuLemon yoga pants at Costco that are AWESOME and $16. Yes, I have real LLL, so I can compare the two. I actually prefer the Costco brand ones, believe it or not. They are definitely meant to be similar - right down to a very similar symbol on the tag. My…

The calculator tells me the same thing if I select 'moderately active'. (I do Focus T25 6x a week, plus at least (1) 60 minute strength class, and (1) yoga class, and usually a walk a couple of nights). But if I eat 2,000 calories a day, I gain weight. Maybe the calculation isn't accurate? Maybe she's 'lightly active'…

I agree, but if she just started lifting weights last week, there is a chance that her muscles are holding in some water as they try to repair the muscle fibers that were torn. OP - Are you really sore from weight training? Or are you just doing light weights? As far as eating clean (I personally follow your definition of…

I'm eating 1500-1600 every day, sometimes more. What's a typical day for you, eating wise? Your diary isn't open so I can't see it, but I don't have any problems eating to that number 90% of the time. If you can tell me what you are eating for each meal, I might be able to offer suggestions.

The one I can remember was a couple of years ago. I ate 3/4 of a medium pizza, and then an entire order of the cinnamon bread with icing that you dip the bread into. I could not stop eating it. Until it was gone. It was close to 1,000 calories just for the dessert. I was sick and bloated for 2 days. I don't have a binge…

I'm not a success story yet, but this is my favorite at home workout plan so far. I just finished week 1. I lost 1.5 pounds and 2" overall this week. I did Insanity before this, but couldn't finish the 2nd month with the 45-60 minute workouts. I can do a class at the gym for an hour, but not at home. My attention span is…

I think it's fun. When I was getting burned out on Insanity, I would mix it in (and also Rockin' Body). I like dance, so it was fun to me!

I don't count anything other than 'intentional exercise' as activity. I've been cleaning my house for years, yet I'm still overweight, so now suddenly saying it's cardio work is a leap bigger than my short legs can take. Especially if you eat back your exercise calories. (I'm an adult of normal health who is generally…

I agree. Look at your 'very active minutes.' You don't rack those up for walking around the block, but you would if you were running.

That's not exactly what he said. And nobody's body is going into the dreaded 'starvation mode' for eating 1100 calories a few times during a week. That's just silly. It won't help you get big and strong, if that's your goal, but you won't starve to death either.
-
My guess is you are way overeating. Or maybe under-eating. But if you aren't tracking your food, how do you have any idea of how many calories you're taking in? It's all a guess for anybody to tell you what's going on without it. I

I just finished week one of Focus T25. Routine right now: Monday-Friday T25 before work Saturday - T25 if I didn't do 2 (as scheduled) on Friday. Sometimes I take a zumba class, just b/c it's fun to me. (or it can be a rest day) Sunday - T25 Stretch (basically a rest day) I also try to do 1-2 strength classes, and a yoga…

I agree that something isn't making sense. I can't imagine that a 21 minute walk at mostly 2.5 mph would ever equal that amount of calories burned. (I mean, I see that is what it is telling you, it just doesn't make mathematical sense to me). I plugged your weight and # of minutes into the calculator on SparkPeople.com. I…

My typical snacks: Apple and string cheese Banana and peanut butter Apple and 100 calorie walnut / almond pack (from Aldi's) 1% cottage cheese or non-fat plain greek yogurt with fruit (usually a berry of some type) I take a couple of these in my lunch bag at work each day so I don't find myself at the vending machine…

Did you change anything about your diet 8 months ago, or did you just start gaining for no apparent reason? If it's the latter, I would suggest an appointment with a doctor to rule out something like an underactive thyroid. It's unusual to gain 20 pounds in 6 months without changing your eating habits. I also agree that…

I agree with the others. If you're eating a well balanced diet most of the time, and you have a 'healthy relationship' with eating in general, and you're not trying to build massive muscle, you shouldn't eat just to eat if you aren't hungry. If you're routinely netting way under that would be different. But a night here or…

Ha! I said that until I bought a food scale. Now I use grams all.the.time. Maybe THAT'S something they should teach in school. Grams and using food portions to understand it. Imagine that - math and nutrition class in one instead of something ridiculous that I'll never use again in life! As far as the question, I don't eat…

And that amazingly hot Nick Lachey to sing to me about said deliciousness!?! I might have to add it to my 'cheat meal' list for the future. I DO have pretzel rolls in my freezer. They are the Sister Schubert ones, but under the Aldi's name. (when you scan the barcode it even comes up under the brand name!) They would make…

OP - I know you said you try to walk around at work as much as possible, but do you have a desk job? If you do, you would be similar to what I do. In those cases, I don't hit my basic calorie burn without extra effort. If you just add a 40 minute walk, it would probably get you to the base level. I think you may be…

You said you were taking it in the morning. Are you taking it with a meal? Or on an empty stomach? I would try switching to taking it after dinner or after your evening snack, so that it's 'working' while you're sleeping.

Seriously?! That might be the dumbest one yet. Dill pickle spears aren't exactly high calories, so why maniupulate a serving size!? But this thread is making me LMAO. I've thought of so many of these! Now that I have a food scale, pasta, rice, etc. is easy. But pre-scale? I was probably eating 3-4 servings at once. I gave…

I'm committed to consistency with T25, but I do it in the morning so if I feel the urge to do something in the evening, I can. Tonight I just went for a casual walk before dinner. I'd like to at least get in a couple of yoga classes each week to help with my (lack of) flexibility. And probably Zumba on the weekend, just…
