This is exactly the advice I needed! I have my first half coming up in September and started my training with a 3k run today. Thanks for all the tips! I will definitely keep them in mind.

Just completed Day 2 of Insanity and I'm feeling very positive! Even though I worked up a sweat, I don't think I pushed myself as hard as I could've done and this definitely won't be the case with Day 3! The fit test absolutely killed me though (zero push up jacks...) so I'm looking forward to getting back to that level…
