  • I log when I go swimming with my 3 year old or if we spend time doing excessive amounts of walking like going to the zoo.
  • Some people have no sense of humor. I find it hilarious because I can totally relate.
  • I have a mirena, but I don't really blame it for my weight gain. I do kinda feel that it's hampering my weight loss tho. I remember being hungry all the time, but I was breastfeeding & figured my body needed more calories for production purposes.
  • I have a friend who does body building & I told him that one of my concerns was loose skin. I have about 66 lbs to go just to get back into the healthy range & I was terrified of having hanging skin everywhere. He told me that cardio & toning will help with pulling it all back together.
  • I go to LA Fitness & there's one that's like 5 min away. It's literally down the street from me. But I only go to that one for my training sessions once a week. My sister, who lives 15-20 min away from me has an LA Fitness down the street from her & I use that one about 3-4 days a week. Reason is I pick up my niece from…
  • I'm having the same problem. When I first started, I was consistantly losing a pound a week. Then I started paying attention to my exercise calories & stopped eating them back, then everything just stalled. So I started eating enough back to net 1200-1400 calories, I still haven't been able to get back on track. My goal…
  • Usually cravings are your body's way of telling you that your diet is missing some key vitamin or mineral and the craving for a certain kind of food will fulfill that need. Listen to that craving, within reason (lol), and you should be great. Just don't go overboard with it. ;) Those women who don't get cravings? ... My…
  • I walked a lot during my pregnancy. I wasn't in very good shape when I got pregnant, but I managed to only gain 15 lbs throughout my pregnancy. Keep eating healthy. I was very picky about what I ate for the first 2 trimesters. It wasn't until the 3rd trimester that I started to relax & indulge a little bit. Even after the…
  • I used to bike everywhere when I was a kid, I just remember how much fun it was. Since the gym is just a couple miles away, I feel guilty for getting in my car & driving, but it's too much of a walk to do with my 3 year old. It would take forever to get there if I had to walk with her. The added cardio would be awesome. I…
  • People underestimate how much of a work out your legs & abs get with a bike. I've been wanting to get one for a while now, I just haven't had a chance to save up. Our gym isn't too far away, so my plan is to get one to start biking to the gym. I also want to get one of those little trailers that go behind the bike so that…
  • The kid turns 4 next month, so he's pretty much a 4 year old. I honestly have more issue with the "Are you mom enough" title than the extended breastfeeding. I think that the photo could have been done better. If they were trying to show the nurturing side of extended breastfeeding, they could have done a better job than…
  • I had horrible acne since I was a teenager that lasted into adulthood. I had tried everything to clean it up & nothing worked. Not even proactive. It only seemed to clear up once in my life, when I was pregnant with my daughter. After I delivered her & my diet became horrible again, my face broke out even worse. However,…

  • I'm 28 & I'm 5'1 SW: 228 But I had lost 5 before starting MFP CW is 214 GW: 150 for now, this is to get back to a healthy BMI. Overall GW is 130, or a size 8
  • I tried not eating back my exercise calories & it actually set me back a couple of weeks. Then there are days where I burn so many calories, I can't eat them all back. My daily intake is set to 1610, but on the days that I work out, I try to eat enough back to net between 1200-1400. I know that everyone is different, but…
  • I was told by a trainer that I needed to lose 76 lbs just to get back to a healthy BMI, but I could probably lose at least 100lbs. I was also told to give myself at least 8mos to a year to get all of the weight off. I honestly think you should consult another doctor. Any kind of surgery is a temporary solution. When I…
  • There's a few different reasons. I need the stamina to keep up with my very active 3 yr old. I work in a corrections facililty & should really be in shape to be able to perform my job duties. But mainly, I really do need to set a good example for my daughter. I want her to have a healthy mom.
  • I wear a HRM when I work out, but when I log it, I log it all together under Strength training. I don't separate what I burn in cardio from what I burn in lifting weights. I don't eat them all back either, I pretty much just eat enough back to net 1200-1400 calories. My daily intake is about 1660.
  • I'm not a nurse, but I work 10 hour overnight shifts where I'm on my feet the whole night. I was considering wearing my HRM to work, but I work at a corrections facility & I'm not sure if we're allowed to take stuff like that in. Anyway, I would think that the 1000 calories burned would be pretty accurate because we still…
  • I'm 28, 5'1 & as embarassing as it is to admit, my weight is 216. It was also 85-90 degrees outside, & I was carrying a backpack with 10 lbs of stuff. I didn't even account for the backpack when I entered it it. There was a combination of liesurely walking, speed walking to catch up with my daughter & squatting for photo…
  • Thanks for all the responses. I knew that MFP either over estimates or understimates. My speed varied, I think the speed it gives you for a stroll is 2.5. We weren't moving every single minuet. We did take some breaks here & there, I was carrying a backpack that had about 10lbs worth of stuff in it & it was hotter than…
  • For me, getting back in the pool was like riding a bike. I haven't been much of a swimmer these last few years, but this year, I've really made more of an effort to start swimming laps. If you want to kind of ease back into swimming, you can get these little kick boards at Walmart, some are like $4. I would hold that out…
  • I'm a few days late in this challenge, but I would like to join. CW 216 GW 206 overall GW 160
  • I used to do pilates, & I've been thinking about including it into my workouts. My mom gave me a bunch of Windsor pilates DVD's that she had. I don't remember it being a huge factor in weight loss, but I remember certain area's getting tighter & more lean.

  • There are days that I'm not always able to make it to the gym. I don't feel guilty anymore because I work my butt off on the days that I do exercise. On the days that I don't exercise, I try to make sure that I stick as closely to my calories as possible.
  • I used to be terrified of lifting too much weight because I thought that it would make me bulk up. After working with a trainer & talking to friends who body build I realized just how wrong I was. When I use the free weights, I started out at 5lbs & have recently upgraded to 10lb weight. When on the machines, it varies…
  • There were several moments, but the biggest one was when I realized that I didn't have any photos of me with my husband & daughter. I would delete out any picture that was taken of me because I couldn't stand looking at how big I had gotten. I was in horrible denial & was convinced I carried my weight well. But I was…
  • I do pelvic thrusts off the exercise ball. I sit on it like I'm going to do a crunch, then I slowly walk down so that it's just my head & shoulders on the ball. You have to adjust where your feet are so that when you push up, the ball doesn't come out from underneath you. But it really works the back of the legs & butt…
  • It's not that I don't think it's anyone's buisness, I just don't want to be judged. My eating habits have gotten better, but I see this as an overall lifestyle change, not so much as a diet. So I'm going to eat what I consider to be normal foods, but limit the portion so I stay in line with my calories. I don't feel having…
  • My husband bought me a New Balance HRM for Christmas & I love it. It's pretty basic & easy to use. At first, I just wanted to keep track of my heart rate to see if I was getting it high enough during my cardio, but since I realized it also keeps track of calories burned, I love it even more. The chest strap isn't…
  • My daughter is now 3 1/2 & I'm finding my stomach the hardest thing to tone up. I've never had to deal with prolapse, so I can't help you there. I did have a c-section & that wreaked havoc on my stomach muscles. Instead of doing traditional crunches, is it possible for you to do leg lifts? You can lay on the floor & bring…
