  • These are all pre-pregnancy, my baby is now 8 months old so I'm hoping to get back there. 1. Riding 125KM over 2 days with a fully loaded touring bike. 2. Riding 100KM a week for almost a year 3. Squatting my weight (135lbs)
  • Great idea! I mainly go over on the weekend so I should probably just cut to 1300 calories during the week or something.
  • Gah, I need to get back on track! I'm maintaining not losing. Anyone care to share what they're doing? My calorie goal is 1500 but I often go over..which is the problem :( I get 10,000 steps a day and weight lift 2-3x a week. Height: 5'6'' Age: 30 GW: 135 SW: 150.5 April GW: 145 April 1st 150.5 April 7th 150.5 April 14th…
  • This week went OK, I seem to be losing around half a pound a week. Not ideal but at least the scale is moving. Happy Easter/Passover :) Good luck staying away from chocolate eggs. • Didn't have a great week, went over my calorie goal several days but also have TOM so hopefully I'll do better next week! SW: 150.5 GW: 145 April 1st 150.5 April 7th 150.5 April 14th April 21st April 28th
  • I gained 45lbs. 5'6'' and started at a muscular 135. I tracked my calories and exercised all throughout my pregnancy and still gained more than the "recommended" and my baby was only 6.7 I lost 20lbs immediately and then got stuck until I stopped breastfeeding. Now I'm having to work at losing the rest. Oh well, I love my…
  • For me it is actually easier, provided that I'm pretty active. I'm currently trying to lose baby weight and it is way harder than maintaining was.
  • I just realized according to those charts that I am short-waisted... I'd never really thought about it. I'm 5'6'' and at my smallest (134) prior to having a child my waist was 27.5 inches. I thought that was pretty small, but I guess it's all relative :)
  • I have to admit, I'm not succeeding at not drinking during the week. I do try and have 2 no alcohol days and keep the rest of the week to a maximum of 2 drinks. I've also been measuring my wine (with my food scale) to keep myself accountable.

  • I think this is a good thread too! As someone who is already in a healthy weight range and just trying to lose "vanity weight" I do find that there are some less positive side effects to dieting. I actually feel pretty great when I eat at maintenance. I'll also add that my body does adjust over time. I normally wake up…
  • Tons of water and carbonated water First thing - water with 1/3 cup apple juice Morning - Coffee x 2 Afternoon - Tea Evening - Red wine x 1 ... or 2
  • I only work out in the gym 3x a week (lift heavy weights) but I try to be active every day. For six months of the year I bike to work 7KM each way and during the winter I aim for at least 10K steps a day.
  • I work out at the YMCA and I've recently started heavy lifting (barbells, 5x5 style). There is a wonderful trainer there who gives me thoughtful, helpful advice on my form whenever he sees me working out and doing something wrong. I am trying to convince my husband it's worth the cost for some personal training sessions on…
  • Hi ladies, Joining in as I'm really trying to lose my baby weight before summer! I'm 5'6'' and trying to get back to 135. SW: 150.5 GW: 145 April 1st 150.5 April 7th April 14th April 21st April 28th
  • This. I eat at maintenance every weekend, I'm losing weight pretty slowly but this is what works for me. Thinking of a day as a "cheat day" is a big dangerous for me because I feel out of control and could end up binging.
  • I weight myself most mornings after going to the bathroom but I log Friday or Saturday, whichever is lowest. I tend to eat at maintenance on the weekends and lose during the week.
  • Awesome! I can't believe that was only 4 months!
  • This. I struggled with bulimia for many years and was only able to recover after I treated my anxiety with counselling and medication. Addressing triggers and finding new coping strategies really helped. I found positive behaviours to reduce stress such as cycling, weight lifting or having a bath.
  • This is great! Will definitely join for April! Trying to lose my baby weight (daughter is 7 months). Height 5'6'' CW: 152 GW: 135
  • I did FODMAPS as recommended by my gastroenterologist due to issues digesting food (gastroperesis) along with run of the mill GERD and IBS. I didn't do a strict elimination diet like @ladyreva78 is suggesting but I did stop eating most things and then added them back in. My biggest off limits food are actually vegetables…

  • I wear a fitness tracker and try to get as many steps/floors in my day as I can. I take public transit or bike to work, walk to my 9th floor office, and go speak to people rather than calling or emailing them. I also either go to the gym or take a walk on my lunch break. I drink a ton of water so I get up to pee every hour.
  • I also use Zone Marcos and find it pretty hard to hit my protein goal (113 gm). Things that help are - Non-fat latte as a snack - Meat at lunch and dinner - Protein bar as a snack I cannot get into eggs for breakfast, I really like whole wheat toast with peanut butter so I miss out there but I enjoy it so much I'm not…
  • Agreed! Good cycling shorts and saddle. I found it also stopped hurting after a month or so.
  • I also left a gym full of douche bags to join the YMCA. I'm regularly in the weight room using the rack and I also have an extra 15lbs on my because I recently had a baby. No one has ever been anything but nice and supportive. Maybe its time you change gyms?
  • Yeah, I read "Wine" threads all the time. I will point people to this group when they ask about cutting back.

  • Agreed. I found strategies that make it easier for me to burn more calories and stay below my calorie limit. So there is less need for willpower. - Three meals a day, no snacks - More protein, less carbs (not because this is necessary, just because it keeps me full) - Finding exercise that I genuinely liked doing…
  • Mine too! Thankfully a glass of wine only has like 125 calories so as long as you only have one glass you should be ok :)
  • Amazing!! Good for you. I'll try and keep posting :)

  • I recently got a food scale and found that I have been logging accurately all along (i.e. what I guessed was a oz of cheddar was an oz of cheddar). Where I go wrong is having difficulty actually eating as few calories as I need to in order to lose weight. Eating 1400 calories is really hard! Not going to come here and…
  • I also have found this. My husband and I are big wine drinkers and I was drinking 2 glasses every night. I actually don't find drinking wine makes that much of a difference for my weight loss but this week I decided to cut back to only on weekends and I feel much better and slept better. Also, drinking 10+ drinks a week is…
