  • I totally hear you you. I am a little obsessed with staying within the guidelines too but I'm trying to calm down and realize that weight gain won't always be linear. I may gain more than 1 lbs in a week. Today for example I'm up 2lbs from yesterday! That definitely must be water weight, so I'm just doing deep breaths ;)
  • That isn't really so bad! I hear that the ideal is 10lbs at 20 weeks. I'm almost 16 weeks and at 7lbs already.
  • I'm not as methodical as you, but I almost always eat more calories on the weekend and fewer calories during the week. I tend to eat out or spend time with friends on the weekends. I log my Saturday morning weight as that is usually my lowest weight of the week.
  • I saw changes after about a year of eating at slightly below maintenance, doing a ton of cycling and lifting heavy. People kept commenting how I looked so great and I must have lost a lot of weight but I had actually only lost 8lbs. I'm 5'6'' and went from being a size 8 at 143 lbs to a size 4 at 135 lbs.
  • Great work Emma!
  • I love oatmeal or Go Lean Crunch with berries and plain greek yogurt. I don't really like savory foods in the morning.
  • I also can't eat a lot of fiber because of digestive issues and really like Luna or Cliff bars! Although they do have a fair bit of sugar.
  • I also found Gap has gotten rid of vanity sizing. My hips are 37 inches and I fit into a 6, which seems reasonable.
  • How are you all doing!? My belly has totally popped, 15 weeks now :)

  • I'm also having a really hard time with this. I had been very slowly losing and building muscle for 2 years and was in great shape, also at my goal weight (5'6 134lbs) when I got pregnant. I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and have raised my calories for 1600 to around 1800-2000 a day and have gained 6lbs. I was cycling and…
  • I'm currently pregnant so I'm doing less - 10K steps a day (no car) plus gym 3-4 times a week (20 minutes cardio, 20 minutes free weights). Before getting pregnant I was cycling about 2 hours a day 5x a week and lifting heavy weights 3x a week.
  • I sort of agree with this. I had a severe eating disorder from age 13-23 (purging 10x a day, was referred to a hospital treatment program) and at that point in my recovery being on weight loss sites like MFP was not helpful. After three years in recovery, letting my self gain weight to above my set point, and seeing a…
  • @spunkychelsea thanks for all the info! My mom has pretty severe type II (insulin dependent) and had GD as well. I'm a healthy weight and very active and trying to keep an eye on sugars and carbs. I think part of it is just chance/genetics though so I'll have to wait and see. Very interesting you only had it with boys!…
  • This is pretty much what I'm eating calorie wise and since I'm gaining weight steadily I think it's fine.

  • Thanks for sharing! I was near my goal weight and gaining muscle when I got pregnant. I just started my second trimester and finally feeling better. I've been trying to piece together a pregnancy friendly routine (I don't feel comfortable using barbells) so your plan is really helpful!
  • As someone who recovered from 10 year eating disorder you should see if your doctor will refer you to a dietician, they can help you meal plan. Counting calories isn't a great idea for someone in the early stages of recovery. I can use MFP now after having been recovered for several years. Congrats on committing to…
  • Emma, I'm sure everything is fine! I'm still having the 20 week anatomy scan next month, excited to find out the gender and nervous to make sure everything looks OK! But yes I'm sure the worrying will last their whole lives!
  • Age: 29 Height: 5'6" Pre-pregnancy Weight: 134.5 lbs Goal to Gain:25-30 lbs Due: August 15, 2016 Week 4: 134.5 Week 5: 134.5 Week 6: 136.5 Week 7: 135 Week 9: 137.5 Week 10: 136.5 Week 11: 136 Week 12: 138 Week 13: 139 Total gain - 4.5 lbs Into the second trimester! I'm so relieved, I'm feeling much better and now I can…
  • I cut out alcohol, raw fish/meat, packaged salads and non Canadian cheeses. I've still been having one coffee a day although it is usually a latte or cappuccino now instead of black. I've been eating waaaay more carbs than I was before and relaxed about what I eat in general..i.e. eating pizza for dinner or chocolate milk…
  • I opted out of the screenings for chromosome disorders, I'm in my late 20's and didn't want to worry about a false positive. Excited to be heading into the second trimester! Feeling waaay better than I was. I'm up about 4lbs but since my BMI is 21 I figure that is OK.
  • Amazing!! Great job
  • @xcalygrl @jessiefrancine @nordlead2005 thanks for the advice! I feel like as I didn't even get my squat and deadlift up to my bodyweight (135) that I probably wasn't done with the program. I will look into purchasing fractional plates and the other programs as well for the future.
  • @DaniKane are you tracking your calories? I find that really helps. You could also be bloated and retaining water.
  • @Eliz_99 did you have bad morning sickness??
  • @fit_mama30 I'd say I'm the same, if I wear something form fitting I look pregnant but if I wear loose clothing it isn't obvious.
  • Hey August mamas! How are you all doing? Anyone showing yet? I'm 12 weeks, I've gained 3 lbs or so and I'm starting to show already although I can still hide it depending on what I'm wearing.
  • Thanks @fit_mama30 That makes me feel better! I'm really hoping to keep my weight gain under 30lbs. Yay for being almost done the first trimester! Are you showing yet?
  • For all the ladies that did Strong Lifts - I need some advice. I really enjoyed it but I found after a couple of months I just got stuck...I could not get my overhead press higher than 50lbs, squats over 125lbs etc. I was also eating at a slight deficit (1600 calories a day). I did lose about 8 lbs and several inches and…
