Hailing from India which is a carb-rich culture, it is pretty tough for me to cut down carbs further but I will try. However isn't it alright to have more complex carbs than refined carbs? Or is it that carbs, whatever form they are, are bad? Bit confused here...

Thanks for all the inputs! By the way, I was also wondering, for bringing down body fat %, do you have to be calorie deficit? Right now, I eat around 1200-1300 calories per day with my diet mostly consisting of less than 55% of carbs, 25% protein and the rest are fats. I also have PCOS, so it is necessary for me to reduce…

I happen to have read somewhere on the internet that when trying to lose body fat, you have to eat less fat?? Sorry, cant cite the source here...But, if it is true that dietary fat need not be cut, then I think I am pretty much doing ok with my diet.

Yes, I saw a clip of the video and I am planning to buy it mainly because I like the workouts shown in there. It's like I want to do everything out there to tone down but I wanted to know if there's anyone out there with PCOS who has tried this dvd and have seen any results?

Thanks for your advice. I think I pretty much eat most of things that you mentioned but not enough protein. I average about 40-50g of protein every week. I just cant seem to fill myself with protein much but I am working towards it - reducing carbs and upping protein! Hope it works.

Thank you all for your replies! I wanted to know how bad/good does it get to tone your body when having PCOS and all of your replies are amazing and have given hope. I go to the gym Mon - Fri and do mostly core workouts like pilates, PiYo etc. I hope to some day post pictures of a different toned me in here (I do see a…

Thanks much for getting back. I have been working out since 4-5 weeks and I dont want to lose any weight (since I already weigh 112 lbs for a 5' 4" height) but I struggle with losing the lower belly fat. My lower waist measures about 33 inches which feels ridiculous for my body type. I have been on low carb diet since a…

Just checked my BFP today immediately after my workout. The machine says it is 22.5%!! I am beginning to question the readings now...did anyone here experience this sort of a BFP reduction in a day?
-
Thanks! Yes, I do definitely see my stamina increasing exponentially every week but I was happy to look at my BFP dropping too...unfortunate part is my waist still measures the same 33 inches :( Looks like I am losing all the fat from my upper abdominal area!

I have had PCOS since my teens but never missed a period though was always late. However, once I got in my mid-twenties, I started to be irregular and that's what made me go to a gyno. I was diagnosed officially with PCOS in 2011. However, my PCOS is not "severe" and is on the borderline (LH/FSH ratio if I remember was 3,…

Yes, I definitely do not want to lose any weight because I think I'm fine with the weight and mymeasurement at natural waistline is 28 but the circumference around belly button is what bothers me...As I mentioned before, it is 33 inches and it looks weird to see someone who is appropriate for the height but has belly…

Oh yes, I do absolutely love myself. I do know that my weight and BMI are perfect on paper. However, my body is more like a pear and my waist circumference around my belly button is 33" which I definitely want to get rid of. Thanks for all your suggestions. I am gonna try and do more weights.

I have PCOS too and I didn't want to get onto any pills. I take in very less carbs and found that I'm now clockwork on my cycles every month! I have been watching my carb intake for the past 1 year. It is definitely difficult to give up on carbs but the fact that I wouldn't bloat like a balloon anymore was a motivation for…
