  • I exercise 5 days a week, usually 30 - 60 mins but the past 2 weeks some days I've done up to 2 hours split over the course of the day because I've been on holiday. I run 3 x per week and do weights 2-3 times.
  • I've got the Polar FT60 and had no problems, been using it 3.5 years and it's still going strong
  • I'm 5'8, currently weigh 144.75 lbs. Started out at well over 200 lbs in 2009, joined here in 2011/2012 and have been up and down. My last "up" was 171 lbs in Dec 2012 and I've steadily lost my weight since then and feel this time I've made a real lifestyle change. Anyone with similar stats feel free to add me. I'm 2 lbs…
  • Feel free to add me and I'll offer the same in return. I'm in the UK and log in everyday
  • Hello, I'm not on 5:2 diet but don't mind giving some support and motivation if you need it so feel free to add me. I'm only 2lbs from goal now so only losing 1-2 lbs a month right now, which is fine. I work out 5 days a week and enjoy my food so it's all good.
  • Congratulations on deciding to turn things around. Being and/or feeling fat is a major source of low self esteem for me so i can appreciate whre you're coming from. I've lost 63 lbs now since Oct 2009. If u want some support, feel free to add me.
  • what a transformation - go you!
  • Yes i have been there but once i figure out that emotional eating didn't make me feel any better or resolve whatever the issue may be at that time I stopped. Sounds simple, but one day it really did dawn on me that getting home every evening, feeling unhappy, tired out and wallowing in comfort food was changing nothing.…
  • Mine are set at 50/25/25. I aim for at least 100g of protein, at least 50g of fat and the rest makes up carbs. Seems to be working for me. Couldn't be without my carbs
  • I'm currently netting 1850 a day and eating back all of my exercise calories. Weight loss is pretty slow at the moment but since I'm only 2 lbs from goal now it's not important how quick I lose it. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh just under 145 lbs. I've added onto my net every so often, going from 1200 to where I am now and…
  • I'd recommend anything fromThe Firm series as they combine weights and cardio. JM 6 week 6 pack is good for abs or The Firm: Core Solutions
  • Height: 5'8"/173cm CW: 146 lbs Rest days: 1850 cals Active days: 2000-2700 (ish) depending on my level of activity. I'd say most days I eat around 2300 though.
  • Feel free to add me people. I completed c25k in feb and have lost 25 lbs. 3 to go :)
  • I workout 5 days a week. Run 3 times for anything between 30 and 60 mins usually and do a full body weights workout 2-3 x per week. My routine is: Mon - run Tues - weights (barbells & machines in gym or hand weights/body weight exercises at home) Weds run Thurs - rest Fri - rest Sat - run (and free weights also on…
  • I highly recommend anything from The Firm series. Great workout. Kelsie's are the best ones but some of my faves are 500 cal workout, Pump, Jump N Jab, Total Body Toner, Cardio Overdrive and Burn & Shape. All by The Firm. 10 Minute Solution series are also good. Their kickboxing dvd with Jessica is the best one by them in…
  • I'm not vege but not a huge fan of meat. I do eat things like chicken and salami sometimes but I eat lots of fish and a whole load of Quorn, eggs, fruit, nuts & dairy. My diary is open to friends. I'm 5'8, 146 lbs roughly. Was 171 lbs at xmas. Will I do?? Feel free to add me anyone chatty and supportive who is also looking…
  • My activity levels also vary. I workout Sat-Weds and have Thurs & Fridays off. It goes something like run, weights, run, weights, run, rest, rest. Some periods I am highly active outside of my workouts, other periods I am sedentary aside from my workouts. The same principles would apply. If I had 2 consecutive weeks where…
  • I should have added that I use my own custom settings on MFP, not the standard ones. And I don't work off TDEE calculations. I've worked through experimenting. Net X amount for anything from a week to a month. See how it affects my weight. If I lose, add on 50 or 100 to my net and repeat. If I had of gained on 2…
  • We are similar. I'm 31, 5'8, 146 lbs and run 3 x per week (started with C25K back in Dec) and strength train 2 x per week. Up until Feb I was prob only netting 1000 a day after exercise but I made more of a concious effort to get it up to 1200. Then I upped it to 1400, 1500, 1600 week by week. Then I settled there for a…
  • I'm having the same dilemma. I've been steadily increasing my net since Feb and am currently netting 1850. I'm 31, 5'8 and 146lbs and run 3 x per week (5-8k) and do weights 2 x per week. My weight loss has been nice and steady but on my rest days I have been hungry, although it is usually manageable. Have been ravenous all…
  • Why not pick up a barbell and do some of the moves you do in a Body Pump class?
  • It does that sometimes. If you just leave it and give it a minute to adjust to your position it usually comes good
  • I use runkeeper and was having problems with accuracy as well. After reading up online I found that if you don't turn off the wifi before you go on your run it tries picking it up from houses or whatever and it messes with your readings. Now I turn off the wifi before every run and has found it to be accurate
  • Like someone else said, I would increase it bit by bit, by 100 each week or you will probably gain. I have been doing this for the past month or so and I'm up to 1650 net, plus I eat back all my exercise cals pretty much every day. I used to comfortably net below 1200 (800-1000) most days and not feel hungry but since I've…
  • I think it's real strength training. I do it 2-3 times a week and over time my weights are increasing and I do get DOMS sometimes. I see progress as time goes by and don't view it as a cardio workout. My HR during body pump is nothing like when I do my cardio workouts...it's much much lower.
  • I just started this today. Anyone else just starting it feel free to add me
  • I just started this today. I really enjoyed it and felt the burn. Definitely had a good workout. Any takers??
  • Everyone is different but I never really thought about food half as much as I do now since losing weight. Sometimes I do wonder if it's a problem but I'd rather be obsessing about the right kinds of food I should be eating rather than mindlessly eating a load of junk every day. Sometimes it gets me down and I wish I could…
  • I weigh every week regardless. I find that hormones affect the scale at all times of the month, not just right before TOM. I don't let it affect me as I know that it's not me or the diet, just hormones. If it will throw you off track tho I wouldn't bother
