For the first week of eating more, I really struggled to eat more, by the end of the second week I was really hungry all the time! Sadly I've been on holiday for a week where I've literally had a (healthy!) breakfast and lunch and then nothing but liquids and odd bits of fruit and snacks. (Just couldnt' face an evening…

Hello no offence to the poster, but this is not good advice. This is a classic symptom of agoraphobia - avoiding situations that may induce panic or anxiety. PA and anxiety are bad enough without adding this to it. I should know! If you start doing this, you run the risk of cutting out certain things/places in your life.…

Wow! Good work :)

Thanks for the vid, some exc. advice. :)

I've got a bit of weight to loose too - I think I'm just going to get through the programme and see how I look and feel and worry about it then. One thing at a time. Good to hear there are other girls with the same worry!

some great tips here, I definitely fall into this category and urgently need more protein and fibre too =/

That sounds really familiar Ruth- fortunately ii've been working on increasing my fat intake over the past few years. My boyfriend has really drilled it into me, and although I still complain (about items containing too much fat) I hit my targets with relative ease. I am really struggling with the protein though and have…

Hi there I'm about to start this - I have a little holiday coming up and then I'm going to give this a try. I much prefer lifting weights to cardio, and the book has scared me a little bit I must say! All good though. I'm just trying to ensure that I spend the next two weeks eating at BMR . My appetite has already…

hello, I just found out about ths group - and I found out about NROLW from a group called 'eat more to weigh less' - I'm someone who is currently struggling to reach their BMR calories so have until I finish the book to get up to speed! I'm 32, I'm active but overweight. I would like to lose 13kg, but might be quite happy…

Yes also struggling - sure I could fill it with the wrong foods, but that's not the idea, I'm not really sure what i'm supposed to eat!! Fruit is low calorie and high carb. I'm getting nowhere near enough protein either =/ urgh. This is so difficult! It was so much easier to eat healthy when I eat less!

do any of the new people want to add me?! be interested to see how others are doing! I'm really struggling to hit my BMR!

don't think it will contribute to weight loss unless you are substituting sugary drinks! It's still good for you though - so would recommend it. :)

Thanks everyone - I really hope this works! BMR set to 1511 for now.... I guess I have to give it a few weeks at least to see how that goes :)

Hello there, I'm 32, always had issues with food - about five years ago I started keeping a food diary on another site and realised I was eating way too many carbs and not enough protein. It was such an eye opener into my life. My diet now is a world away from then, healthier, unprocessed, more fruit and veg, etc etc and…

Hi there, thanks for your help! My TDEE (with the 15% cut) calculated at 1992 and my BMR is 1511. Currently I'm eating around 1200 net calories, so i'm aiming for 1511 net this week and will try and up it again next week - although I'm not sure what I should be aiming for :) I read that I can aim for 1992 total calories…

I couldn't cope with a religious partner. I like to share the same world views and feel that we're on the same page. I respect other's beliefs (as long as they don't try to inflict them on others) but I just couldn't take a guy seriously if he believed in some sort of creationism! Fortunately my man is also scientifically…

I'm thinking about trying this. I have realised by joining MFP that I'm maybe not eating enough? The goal set by MFP is 1300 calories, which is supposed to be a reduction of 500 calories - yet I've managed to hit 1300 cals (net) once in a week, the rest of the time I've been under - and I've put on weight this week! This…

Need to read this in full. Marked for later :)

aww that's awful - once a month my old IBS issues flare up and my belly looks majorly round and swollen. It's so uncomfortable! I am sure I look about 6months gone. I think I would struggle if someone asked me thou. Must say that recently I was staying at my sisters house and my niece who's 3years old wandered into the…

Hello from Bristol, I joined last week - feel free to add me :)

Never used to drink water at all now it's all I drink except fruit/herbal/rooibos tea. Every time I fill my glass up at the sink, I drink a glass down in one before taking a full glass back to my desk. If I've looked at my glass and it's empty i'm probably thirsty and could therefore drink a whole glass anyway!

Quite a big breakfast, good sized lunch, less for dinner.

I would log the ingredients separately :) Best guesses will have to do!

I box for my HIIT, my partner holds up the pads and I have a 3min warm up and then go as hard and as fast as I can for 20 seconds. By the third consecutive session I don't have the speed or the strength of the first one, but my heart rate goes through the roof each time :) It's definitely increased my capacity to swim for…

Wow that's quite a difference - well done you. Sounds like you are getting your life back!!

I've joined a gym near my office so I can go at lunchtime. If that doesn't work, you could spend an hour walking around near where you work? What about walking/cycling to/from work. See if you can get some 'events' which involve moving around :)

Fruit tea! You'll never get bored :) Currently on blackberry & acai. Tis great. Rooibos is my standard tea, no milk, no sugar, no caffeine. I can drink as much of it as I like. :)

Sweet potato pie - thin layer of sweet potatoes on the bottom of the dish, then a heap of spinach, then sprinkle feta all over it. Pour over some creme fraiche with garlic in before adding the final layer of sweet potato. Cook for about 40ish minutes :) Also, slices of grilled aubergine topped with tomatoes and mozarella.…

Don't do it :) Your skin will thank you for it in the long run!

Thanks, didn't know you could do this :)
