To be honest, I find 20 minutes of exercise a day isn't enough if I want to both lose weight and not eat like a starving orphan. So for Level 1 of 30DS I did 35 mins of cardio prior, and now that I'm into Level 2 I just do a 10-min cardio warm-up and then Level 1 and 2 back-to-back. It's been working great!

Thank you very much for the Ranch dressing recipe! I will try it and report back. :-)

Many thanks, Hearts♥Desire! :flowerforyou:

Bump! Quick question: 1 cup of quinoa before or after it's been cooked? Thanks!

Do you have any low-cal salad dressing recipes? I want to make my own dressing because it's healthier, but most of the recipes I see have about twice as many calories as the evil store-bought ones. Creamy, vinegary, oily, I'm not too picky (OK I guess creamy is my favorite), but no more than 50 cals per tablespoon would be…

I also really recommend a heart rate monitor. I used to be quite frustrated, when the MFP database gave one number and the instructor on the video gave me another and my common sense gave me another and etc. I got one when I rejoined MFP (about 3 weeks ago) and it's been wonderful to just look at the number after a workout…

Well, I am a veggie lover, so you don't have to listen, ;-) , but I agree with the guy who mentioned stir-fries, and also, you can fit an extraordinary amount of leafy greens into a drink! Seriously, bunches and bunches and BUNCHES of spinach -- it looks massive on a plate but if you dump it in a blender with your liquid…

Wow, I can't imagine how much more difficult this whole process must be if you're looking after kids. My hat is off to you! I find, with exercise, I get an endorphin kick fairly quickly, so it's simply (ha!) a matter of starting. I have a job that requires a lot of overtime and late in the evening I'm often exhausted and…

@ shocktastic Probably used to follow rules/expectations and now no longer does and her life is enriched and awesome because of it.

I agree with ^, it doesn't have to be breakfast food! What about a massive bean and avocado salad?

Thank you very much! That is excellent advice; it puts a lot of things in perspective for me. :-)

Oh, well done! :D And those two pics of your daughter working out near the end are AMAZING; you must be so proud.

Awesome arms!

I want to look so awesome that someone doing a crucial job--say, directing traffic around some construction work, or performing heart surgery--sees me and then briefly pauses and loses his focus and messes up. Not in a seriously major way, like not in a way that would result in car accidents or would seriously botch the…

I was a heavy smoker (almost 2 packs/day) for 10 years. I quit smoking just over 1 year ago with Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking. That book is magic! I read it in a week and then quit, just like that. I was HAPPY to quit. I didn't crave or feel bad. You mentioned you found an e-book, so please read the whole thing --…

Deep-fried oysters. That might sound odd, but the deli by my apartment has them, and if I was working overtime and didn't want to cook late in the evening I'd sometimes buy them and have a dinner of that (smeared with mayo). Oh, and fast food obviously, except Subway. Cuba Libres, which are sadly mostly Coke.

Thanks for posting these! I like the "Eat Clean Feel Better" one best. Looks delicious!

Chocolate, ice cream, and any other sugary-type dessert. No one ever believes me!

Rock on! You look radiant!

"You think I'm just another perverted salaryman, DON'T you." After dragging me into a shop because they were giving out FREE PORN. Le sigh.

Tight, sexy black jeans with heaps of rips down the front. They're everywhere in Tokyo right now but the shop by my apartment doesn't stock them above a 27-inch waist. *kitten*! But soon.

Bump! Will totally post some pics/recipes after the weekend. These all look amazing! I'm inspired!

Thanks, @ DawnVanSlim! I'm 30. : ) @ clairabell: 21?

Red wine. I have no problem drinking an entire bottle if I've got nothing pressing on the go the next morning. I've switched to single-serving bottles since joining MFP. Judgement from cashiers be damned!

@ Chloooe22 22? :p

I was a dedicated, defensive, fully committed smoker for about 10 years, smoking close to 2 packs a day by the end (age 29!). Accompanied by gallons and gallons of booze, also pretty much daily. I had told everybody I would quit by age 30 so that they would leave me alone and stop nagging me. Then my 30th birthday…
