  • Wow, that is amazing! Thank you! It does put things in perspective when you see results/pictures vs. numbers. I still get caught on numbers and i'm trying to change that.
  • Good to know sardelsa! You are definitely goals, so I appreciate all the honesty. It might be challenging to gain weight for me mentally, but I think I would be happier all around with results, etc. I know it would probably make me seem leaner in the long run. I've been looking into adding a lot more protein in my diet as…
  • Thank you so much diannethegeek, I think you nailed it! I'm not doing Insanity exactly, I just said that because it's very similar. The fact is all these classes are gym classes I don't usually do things on my own so I rely on an actual class. I did the real Insanity class until it turned into "HIIT" and then into "CRT"…
  • This is awesome, thank you sardelsa! I am 5'7 and under 120# ideally I only want to lose 5 vanity pounds but add muscle. So I think recomposition is exactly what I need! I will definitely look into those links, I really never thought about that angle before.
  • Ok that makes more sense! I'm following now, I swear. :D
  • No, not at all! haha I was only asking because Stannmann mentioned earlier needing to run 2 days a week so I was genuinely curious if this counted or not! I had a gut feeling I need to add a serious weight day to the mix instead of HIIT or something of the like. Do you think switching those would be a good place to start?…
  • Ok well I can give you some information that might help, maybe? Day 1: Pilates- obviously more of core work class 60min followed the same day by 90min dance class, but I don't burn much in that one always so I don't count it. Day 2: Cardio Resistance-60min 3 long sets with cardio bursts and strength sets. Cardio moves are…
  • What do you need to know?
  • Ahh ok. I figured that might be the case. :s I will look at that more carefully and reassess! Do you think it's still possible to add muscle with this routine? I prefer body weight workouts to actual weights but do incorporate both...
  • Thanks rainbowbow I'm probably doing a light version of HIIT. We use weights off and on and do intervals much like Insanity. But it's a group class so I'm not sure. I will look up some of the videos you suggested! Sdtrex, you are right too. I need to keep that in mind as well!
  • rainbowbow: The look I like most is definitely the HIIT pictures you posted! In fact those are even more toned than I would hope to get. My eating is pretty good, I'm not sure what my fat % is though. Last time it was ever measured it was 14% but that was a long long time ago. I am already lean but I am trying to define…
  • Thank you jjpptt2, I had a feeling that might be the answer. I am leaning towards adding in weight lifting, because it certainly feels different! rainbowbow: Female, and toned. I workout 5-6 days a week and I definitely prefer HIIT. I am not a heavy lifter as 30lbs is my heaviest squatting weight I can manage. I know you…
  • Lift to the point where you feel muscle fatigue (after more than a few reps). And yes you can tone with 5lbs I did, but I also had to work up to 5 from 2, i'm at 15 now. Its a slow process but it is all relative ie: spaghetti arms + 5lb weights = toned.
  • Great info, thanks for sharing!
  • It's nothing too bad really, just a daily pill and frequent blood tests. You get used to it, and you will be so glad to have it regulated! I feel so much better, I really don't know how I was functioning before. It's still going to be more challenging to lose/keep weight off than if you didn't have Hypothyroidism, but not…
  • It took me 6 months for 4 pounds. :/ They were my last but it still was a lot of hard work to lose them!
  • Almonds, Smoked almonds, trail mix, pumpkin seeds, granola bars, dried fruit, cups of applesauce (or pouches) and Clementines. A good tip on the nuts/almonds etc. I keep mine in empty Altoid (or simlar) tins. :)
  • I have the same problem! I usually try to eat a lot of Asparagus and drink Dandelion tea. That seems to help a little. I would be careful with water pills, they are hard on your Kidneys especially if overused.
  • I'm the same way, I hide mine because I become obsessed by a number. I do do measurements though and can usually get a good idea by how my pants are fitting.
  • No I don't blame the TOM but honestly sometimes that cinnamon roll, or brownie or whatever is the only thing from keeping me from punching someone in the face. I don't have to eat the whole thing but when you have really bad hormone fluctuations or a real imbalance that is sometimes enough to say that yeah I ate that…
  • Well i'm 5'7 and have the exact same BMI and pretty close on the measurements. I'm technically underweight and she is too. I know you can't believe everything you read on the internet, but it's a little disheartening to hear especially with all the negative comments.
