  • It could be an intolerance rather than an allergy (have your Dr. check). In the past year, I've had to cut out Wheat, Soy and Corn from my diet - all my bloating issues stopped. I recently had to cut back and limit dairy as well. When I do "need" dairy (coffee, etc), I use either Almond or Coconut milk. Two weeks ago at my…
  • 5-6 days/ usually 5. I find my workouts are a great stress reliever when I'm having a bad day. twice a week I train with a trainer. Now that the weather is getting nice, I'm trying to get outside and run more.
  • I hit 40 and my mindset changed. It only took 40 years for me to finally make a commitment to a healthier lifestyle. That said, while I do have/had a unhealthy relationship with food, my weight totally ballooned while going through fertility treatments for 2+ years trying to get pregnant. I know the load of hormones I was…
  • depending on what I'm doing anywhere between 350-650. I usually average around 450 though
  • I'm on an antidepressant as well as anti-anxiety. It took me a while to find the right combo, I was gaining weight on Zoloft, switched to Wellbutrin (which is known to help weight loss), but it made me psychotic. I'm now on Fluoxitine (prozac) and Buspar and while the weight loss is slow (I have another 15 or so lbs to…
  • I would say it has a lot to do with it I used to have a venti white chocolate mocha every single day. Now, I make my own version of it at home using sugar free white chocolate syrup and coconut milk. No whipped cream, still satisfies that sweet craving I have from time to time.

  • Yes! I am a horrible sleeper, I also had my cortisol levels checked and they were through the roof. I've been working to get it all under control and have seen a slight improvement with my weight.
  • clearly, I don't know how to post pictures!
  • In addition to all the other advice, I would get your Vitamin D levels checked. I was beyond fatigued after work outs, and upon having Vitamin D levels checked at a routine check up, I was found to have extreamly low Vit D. Once I started a high dose of Vitamin D supplements (at my Drs recommendation), I found my energy…
  • This is not true, unless you are a reproductive fertility doctor I would NOT be telling other women this! I have PCOS, among other hormonal issues. I got pregnant once naturally but m/c early. It took 2 years of fertility treatments to become pregnant with my 1st child. Never once did my Dr. (top 5 in the field) say this.…

  • Cardio only days - 45 - 60 min Resistance Training Days - 90 minutes
  • Same here. I'm 5'1" and 147 I did 45 min strength training today and 35 min of cardio - total burn was 555. I don't trust the calorie counts on the machines at the gym. I only go by my HRM. Which is usually close to 100 cal LOWER then what the machines show. 30 minutes on the eliptical for me is usually about a 250 burn. I…
  • I'm 5'1' - 147lbs. When I started I was about 210 - Size 18 Now - Size 6 or 8 depending on the brand. Tops are a size small or medium, again depending on brand and style. Interesting to me, is that 20 years ago, when I was the same weight, I was wearing a snug size 14.
  • I did a 5 miler this morning, averaged 11.5... slow, fast, medicore... who cares??? It felt great!
  • That is not slow! That's a great pace! When I started running I was a 15-17 min/miler! Now I average 10:00-11:00 and I feel that is a great pace (for me!) Don't worry about what others are running!
  • We spent a week at Disney over Thanksgiving, I was able to find many healthier options, but I also brought my own snacks. So when my kids wanted an ice cream break ,or a popcorn/pretzel break, etc...I could just go in my bag and have my snack. Also, you will be doing a ton of walking, so I wouldn't worry too much. I ate a…
  • I also have PCOS, have lost 60lbs over the past 2 years and still have a huge belly. I've also gone gluten/soy and corn free (intolerant to these items, not a full blown allergy), but it has not made a difference at all. I work out 5-6 times per week, twice a week with a trainer. Cardio/Resistance and Weight Training.....
  • 2-3 times per year. I'm not big on red meat (just don't care for it too much).
  • Unless my husband and I go out for a nice dinner, I don't usually reach 1500 calories. This is what I've had so far today... If I don't fall asleep after I put my kids to bed, I may have a small snack. Breakfast (which is my usual breakfast) 2 Brown Rice Cakes with 1tbsp Sunflower Seed Butter - 220 cal Lunch (Today) -…
  • Anything crunchy, specifically Trader Joe's plaintain chips I have a long list of banned products in my home!
  • my diary is full of processed crap? hardly....
  • No I'm not, my daughter doesn't like ice cream, and we both prefer frozen yogurt to it. I'm not saying it's more nutritious, just that it's my idea of eating junk food. And yes, Smashburger is a fast food place..... their burgers are not frozen and are prepared when you order them. I don't eat them because of the sodium,…
  • I find fast food disgusting. I have not eaten it in years. I'm also the mean mom who will not allow her children to eat a happy meal, or any food from McDonalds/Burger King/Wendy's, etc........ full of GMO's and processed crap. Now whenever we pass a McDonalds, my 3 year old announces how yucky it is and that it's not good…
  • My trainer gave me a running HIIT workout to do 3x a week (this is the first week), he has also changed my 30 minute workout with him to HIIT (once so far this week, have another session today). I'm hoping this is the answer (along with some of my recently discovered health issues) to my 7 month long plateau.
  • I know the frustration - I am a healthy eater, very conscience about what I eat. I have a good work out routine and in addition work 2x/week with a personal trainer. In November (2012) I started to plateau. However it was more than a plateau as it is now June and the scale has not budged. My trainer and I have tried…
  • I just enjoy and don't sweat it. I MIGHT add in an extra work out during the week, or work out an extra 30 minutes, but normally I don't. We just spent the holiday weekend away at a destination wedding and I didn't think twice about what I was eating and drinking.
