  • I'm running the half with a group of running buddies. I hope I can keep a pace between 10:30 and 11:00. My 10k at the flying pig I kept around a 12 min pace. I'm hoping to get a little faster before then.
  • It takes an hour for your body to adjust to the heat. If you go out and even walk for an hour, your body adjusts to the temperature and it is easier to work out.
  • I went to EMU too!! would be funny if we were there together. I remember things not shutting down with the snow. I had to go to my pre-student teaching experiences in horrible snow that never seemed to get plowed or treated and everything was still open.
  • I do this and I've been losing. I've heard it can lead to plateaus and you generally eat less food when that food is high in calories, but it you're happy and you don't hit a plateau, it can work.
  • sorry I figured it out, haven't looked at other people's diaries before, just been concerned with my own.
  • It's open take a look, btw I'm down from around 172, but didn't start even looking at my calories until I was down to 150. Now I'm at 137. Nice if yours was open too.
  • After all the negative comments on our family's diet I tried to figure out something healthy to eat for lunch. I had small light things for breakfast and a good workout this morning. As I contemplated what to eat I nearly passed out from lack of food. Clearly that is not healthy. So we had Pizza and at least I am still…
  • I used to live in Ypsilanti, now in Ohio, similar weather sometimes. I found that once you start getting out in the cold (mainly running and walking) with plenty of layers, you love it better than the heat. I found a great group that I run with and we've run on ice, in 2 ft of snow, against horrid windchills, and…
  • You can't change the way you eat automatically. If we were eating at home we would still be eating beef, mayo, cheese, sour cream, chips, white bread, and other "bad foods". These are foods we're accustomed to and before our kitchen was a mess we had nachos/tacos as a regular meal, ate English muffins with sausage patties…
  • I do that too, my husband thinks I'm crazy for doing it, but my kids and I are controlling how much we eat much better when they are in individual baggies =)
  • I've had this problem since I was young too. I never had any doctor tell me what the problem might be until I blacked out while walking and almost passed out while pregnant with my oldest. At that point, dehydration was the cause of the problem. While pregnant with my second I had anemia and had severe problems with the…
  • I feel the same way. I'm not hungry, but not a nice feeling of being full either. I have eaten less, I've eaten more, and it doesn't seem to help. Sometimes I think I've eaten a lot, then I put it in MFP and I haven't eaten that much. Sometimes I feel like I barely ate anything and I'm over my limit. I think our bodies are…
  • That's taking all the things that make them decent (cheese, beef) out and adding stuff I hate (peppers, onions, tomatoes, pickles). I could not do that. I have the same problem. I can't find healthy foods that I actually want to eat and I am trying so hard. I tried a bite of banana and almost threw up. I'm very careful…
  • I found out I sprained my ankle, but also had shin splints. The pain in the ankle is gone, but I'm still dealing with some shin pain going all the way down to the top of my foot. I'm taking it easier in general and pushing a bit when I can. It's getting better over time, but I am really listening to my body when I run.
  • I get my IT taped by a physical therapist at a workout place I go to. It's called kenisio (I probably spelled it wrong) tape and you can find it to buy it on your own. If you have a knowledge of anatomy you can apply it yourself. My IT tape runs from my lower back, over my hip, down to my knee and then we place bands…
  • I married a guy who was balding when I met him. He started balding at 16. If someone really likes who you are, it doesn't matter how much hair you have. When my Hubby's leftover hair gets too long, he looks like Bozo the Clown, I still love him. =)
  • I've got similar problems, only one ankle though, feels like the bone, mainly hurts when I run landing mid stride. I would love some advice too. If you find out anything let me know, I'll do the same for you.
  • I love my foam roller!! That and taping saved my IT band. It is worth the money. I wish it could help my ankle now.
